Wonderfully Done
12 March 2024
I have Rewatched this movie several times. I was more than surprised when I saw it the first time in the theatre. I went in with not much expectations and I was happily surprised. Great characters. Well written and paced story. No boring parts. Your typical villains that we come to expect.

I appreciate how these unsung heroes helped save the day. The ones no one will remember but were an integral part of this long story. Nothing convoluted. A story that people from all ages can enjoy. Even if you have never seen any of the Star Wars movies. In fact this would be a good one to start with. Well done.

Needed better writing
11 February 2024
Not enough rom cons anymore so this was nice to see on Netflix. I had never heard of it. They writers had an opportunity to really make this funny at the different weddings but they all came off bland. My biggest complaint though is that in the beginning Alice came off as a very unattractive goofy person who you could not see becoming anything but a buddy. As soon as they started to date she transformed into a completely different character. She dressed different, she was less goofy and became this cute quirky girl anyone would like to date.

The side characters were ok but non stood out. I feel if they gave the script to someone with some chops they could have punched it up a bit.

Show went from enjoyable to ridiculous.
9 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure where to start with this hot mess. This season got worse as it went on. Cliche after cliche. The most unrealistic fight and action scenes of all time. The helicopter scene? Are you serious. Every bad guy in this show is as useless as can be. They can't aim, fight and when caught give up the information in no time. The worst thing though is, and it needs to stop, is when the good guy is captured, the bad guy decides to spill the beans on the whole plan and in turn the good guy miraculously escapes and is able to foil the plan.

This felt like it was written by a couple of frat boys in their dorm.

A shame.

Poorly written episode
9 February 2024
Although I would like to blame the actors for this episode, I think the problem lies with the writing. They have nothing to work with here. Delving into the Israeli/Palestinian crisis opened the door to a multitude of interesting avenues but they seemed to keep it as basic as possible as if the viewers were not smart enough to know what is going on. It felt like the writers were out of their of their depth tackling this issue. I felt that the writing got a bit better near the end of last year, and you would figure they had a whole off season to kick of the second year of the reboot in style. This wasn't it. Hopefully the next few episodes will improve.

Barely watchable
3 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed season 1. This season has taken a nose dive. The writing is awful. They feel that they have to use the dialogue to explain to us what is going on and why. The action sequences are beyond ridiculous. 3 highly trained professionals, probably ex cops all get taken out with ease. How do you surprise someone in a bus? For those who think all the bad reviews are unjust, they aren't. The writing is lazy. You could get Oscar worthy actors and they still couldn't make this script good.

I know there will be a season three. I hope the writers see the comments and make adjustments moving forward. I am not expecting earth shattering tv, but they can do better than this.

Not as good as the fuseason
16 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't read the books so I cannot base it on that. The first season, although no masterpiece was fun to watch. I liked his character and his sidekicks. The bad guys were a bit stiff but it was still fun.

They have added his new team this year which for me I wasn't fond of. I liked the lone wolf scenario. The problem is they all seem cliche. All of your typical macho characters. They kill people and act like it is all in a days work.

I know it has been mentioned at nausea, but it has to be said again. The fight scenes. I actually knew one of the girls a dozen years ago. Nice person. Nice actor and also a petite woman who in no way could take on a male goon in a fight. Ok. If trained take on an average guy, but a guy hired to kill? And to walk away unmarked? That was the wimpiest gang I have ever seen. I will continue as I am invested in the character, but I hope it gets better.

Action with a side of action
26 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Some people give it a 10. It is not. Some give it a 5. It is better than that. I fall into the 7.5 category. The action was top notch as usual for this genre. Some clever twists to the usual car chases.

I would say it actually had too much action and could have used more dialogue. Not just the kind to explain the story forward. We really don't get to deep into the newer characters and you wonder why one would care if they lived or died.

I would have liked to see a little action given to his Teo side kicks. They seemed to do very little.

We see a lot of Tom running as per usual.

Go to the movie. Get some popcorn and just enjoy the visuals. We could use more like these again.

Sometimes you just get it right
10 April 2023
Perfectly crafted episode. From the pacing to the camera work to the amazing acting by all on screen. You almost feel that what you are watching isn't true and that it is all a big ruse. Then it slowly sinks in. Certain shows just pull off these great episodes. Breaking Bad and Mr. Robot come to mind.

Watching the three siblings deal with their emotions by themselves and with one another was so well done. Cudo to the director for their choice of camera angles on the boat and the plane. It gave a sense that you right there and not watching from a far.

Interesting to see how the series goes from this point on.

No one to root for.
7 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There isn't anyone to root for. Everyone makes nonsensical choices. Anytime there is an opportunity to do something to further their progress they do the other thing. If one of the major players got killed, I am not sure i would mind. I thought the daughter was on board. I thought the son had his laundering gig. Why would anyone from Chicago want to live in North Carolina with their grandpa? How does Marty have absolutely no backbone. His kids are leaving and he doesn't say a word. There is no way I would let that happen. Clearly Wendy shares some of the same afflictions her brother had. I can only imagine how badly her father screwed her and her brother up. Now here kids will be under that roof?

Great Entertainment
3 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The task at hand of having to create a sequel without the main character had to have been daunting. Yet they pull out a miracle. Not sure how people say the acting was bad. In fact Angela Basset was tremendous. Could have cut out 15 minutes of the movie, but no complaints. Nice to see women be the badasses. Well crafted, well acted, great music and great editing. My only complaint is at the end when we find out two of the women are together. Not sure what the point was at the point in the movie. If you are going to do that (which does feel like an agenda in Marvel movies now. Way to obvious) why not introduce this earlier so that it adds more tension when they are in a fighting scene. That would have made more sense. This feels like someone made the writers add this in at the end. At this point it added nothing to the story. Add it earlier and incorporate it into the fabric of the movie.

Movie should be up for some awards for sure. Last but not least, they handled the death of Black Panther appropriately.

Not up to MCU standards
7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to like it. I enjoyed Wanda Vision. This had too many slow parts. Wooden acting and sit com comedy. Hawkeye was a boring character. Jeremy Renner slept walked through this as if he was contractually obligated to do this. This could have been saved if they had Kingpin in it more. I get them adding Yelana and her love for Mac n Cheese (Black widow) but that whole conversation was cheeey. Vera Farmiga was awful. Big Props though to Alaqua Cox who is really deaf and an amputee. I was shocked to learn that this was her first acting role. Also props to the studios. They keep hitting us over the head with LBGTQ characters. I don't care one way or another but it was nice to see an indigenous character portrayed.

Forgetful Movie
21 August 2022
Watched it with my wife and daughter. Not one laugh between us. If I was watching it alone I would have turned it off. The only character that was any good was Brad Pitt's. Alas it was short and sweet. Tatum simply cannot act. The writing was awful. It was like watching a bad sitcom.

All action. No story
11 August 2022
Lots of slick, very unbelievable action. Dialogue and story weak. Actors took the money to hang out in cool locations. I saw it a few days ago and I don't even remember it.

This is the best they could do?
12 March 2022
So very disappointed that this was the best they could come up with after all these years. A shame. Each one has been worse than the previous version. This chapter added nothing new.

Not bad. Not great
28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Well crafted as usual. Craig is a great Bond. My issue as soon as I left was that there were too many scenes. It seems to bounce from one location to the next. Never building up the suspension. He is in Jamaica then Cube, then London, then Norway... as well I find that the villain was weak and had a lame back story.action was outstanding though.

This has a better rating than Broadchurch?!
17 June 2021
Too much of this was laughable. The only way to enjoy it was to not take it seriously. I felt bad for the actors. There was nothing of substance in the script. The story did not make sense and the action scenes were laughable. I have only seen the first season. I cannot see how anyone could give this a 10. If you want to see a show that works watch. Broadchurch.

Follows a simple formula.
20 April 2020
With the actors in this movie, I thought it would be better. Bale and and Damon are always enjoyable but the script was lacking and all the other characters were cut out cardboards. Balfe was wasted as Bales's wife. You could have plug and played anyone in that role. The Ford executives were one dimensional with Josh Lucas' character playing the villain of sorts. We never know his motives except for being a jerk. Overly predictable in terms of how the characters would act. Could have been done so much better.

It holds up today

Rewatched it with my kids and they laughed out loud. I of course remember the movie word for word. They really new how to make teen movies back in the day without CGI. They actually relied on dialogue and physical comedy.

A nice night out
15 June 2019
I am not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, although I am not sure where all the 10's are coming from. I went to,the movies with my wife to see an adult movie. No superheroes, no CGI. This was a quaint little movie. The acting was fine. The story moved at a brisk pace and Emma Thompson was able to carry the movie as she was in most scenes. Felt that I got my money's worth.

Lack of direction
20 April 2019
This movie was a hot mess. The storyline has been done before but this had no heart. The writing wasn't very good. The editing was awful and it just wasn't funny. They wasted talented actors in Hall and Rae. Unfortunately Marsai Martin cannot carry a movie at this point in her career. She just doesn't have the acting chops yet. The movie could have used a more seasoned girl. I am shocked at people who gave this high marks. Has to be plants.

Please don't waste your time
25 March 2019
My word, what did I just watch? What useless drivel. I can't understand how this got green lit. Cartoon characters, clichè dialogue. The people in this movie should ask IMDB to erase this from their movie list. The first was great. The second was ok. The ones after that were so so but at least they tried. This one looks like it was made for 12 year old boys. Avoid this at all costs. Or watch it to truly see how bad it is.

We have seen it all before
1 August 2018
The problem with these movies is that it all seems familiar. Just different faces. Taking it to a mansion seemed a bit far fetched. I found myself bored at times and others predicting what was going to happen before it did. My 14 year old liked it so it had enough for a newer audience to the genre, but for someone who has seen them all it has lost its lustre.
