Tang ren piao ke (1972)
absolutely awesome
i don't know why some people who say they like martial art movies could possibly speak ill of this film. this movie is everything that was good about 70's martial arts movies. Dragon Lee movies represent all that was BAD about 70's martial arts movies, but this movie's great. and Wang Yu is awesome.
Bulletproof Monk (2003)
really not that bad...
This movie should not be compared to the matrix, or any other movie. It's not a matrix clone or any of that crap. It's bulletproof monk. Now, that being said, unfortunately, bulletproof monk wasn't all that sweet. The fighting was decent, and Stiffler's dialogue was often kind of funny. But the movie fell short, due to a few holes in the plot, and some really bad acting, on the part of everyone but the two main characters. My other problem with this movie was the fact that Karl at one point says: "WE'RE IN AMERICA", and yet when they show shots of the city, you can see the CN tower (TORONTO for those of you who don't know). It's like saying you're in Chicago and showing the Empire State Building. All in all, the movie was alright, worth the money paid for it's rental... but do yourself a favor and DO NOT WATCH THE DELETED SCENES... because if they had been included, this would have been the worst movie that I have seen in a very long time. Look, the criminals have turned face!!!!!!! So lame.
Gyakushû! Satsujin ken (1974)
the worst of the series BY FAR
This is not a real street fighter movie. There's no way that this is the same character as the first two movies... why does he have some kind of secret hideout, with disguises and spy-gadgets??? Tsurugi (note: NOT SUGURY) is a violent man, who only does good, because in the end it is what is in his best interest. He's not a super-hero spy or any of the campy crap that can be found in this movie, the third installment. He doesn't call himself "THE STREETFIGHTER" in the first two movies, so why all of a sudden does he say: "They call me THE STREETFIGHTER". The only reason to watch this movie is Chiba and Sue Shiomi. But don't go into it expecting Chiba to have his usual Terry Tsurugi KILLPOWER, because he barely has any in this movie... plus the story is weak in comparison to the first two. The dude who can cut stuff with his laser hands??? All I have to say to him is: "NICE HAT!". Not a cool villain at all. It's not a Street Fighter movie without Junjou.
Wong Gok fung wan (1996)
painful.
The story is terrible, the acting is awful, there is virtually no action, and the ending makes absolutely no sense. Aside from all of that... no wait... it's still one of the worst movies that i have ever seen. You don't even care about the characters, let alone what happens to them. And why does the "hero" get raped... without getting revenge? Basically I regret ever watching it. I want my 90 minutes back.
Lung foo Bat Lam Gai (1996)
decent
A decent movie, with a moderately interesting story. Certain parts feature some really good humour, others some cool gang fighting, but all in all, it just fell short due to the fact that you just don't care enough about the characters. Not bad, good if you can pick it up for cheap, but don't pay import prices for it.
