The Help

A beautiful story very well told!

OK, so I am not a regular film critic, but having just seen this beautiful movie and then ten told it had had some negative reviews I decided to have my say.
Firstly I will say that I had not read the book.
The acting in this film was all very well placed. The story was very well told and the director and the producers all had a very balanced vision for the story to be told.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the film, and found it to be very humane.
If you like films that tell a story giving you perspectives of all the players in the film then this is definitely one to watch.
The color and lighting, the staging and the wonderful cars of the early 60's all 'help' to set the scene for this period.
It's funny, touching, sad and a little informative.
If you like films like The Rosa Parks Story, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Colour Purple then this is a film you will enjoy.

Inspirational and Emotionally Charged, A Brilliant Film

I have just been to see a preview of this film. I very rarely leave comments but having just seen what I feel will be my favorite film this year, I had to write here and let other movie goers know what a brilliant job was done with telling a simple story of human kindness. Also here is the meaning of the word "family".
In this day and age family values have been diluted and in many places of the world no longer exist. Their are a lot of lonely people in the world that have not had the benefit of a wholesome upbringing. This film has light and shade and anyone who can connect with either or both will feel the message being portrayed.
Well done to all who worked on this movie. Sandra Bullock deserves her Oscar nomination for this one.

From start to finish, The entire cast, the story, the script and the plot. I was gripped from the opening to the ending. I love "Damages" and I loved this equally.
I was so impressed by this series that I will be looking up the writers to see what else has come from the same pen.
Its writing at it's best. Can it get any better than this? Once you get used to the diction you are hooked.
A welcome surprise to see Macaulay Culkin return to our screens.
Ian McShane is AWESOME!. I must look up his last series. What a presence! I hope who ever reads this enjoys this show as much as I did. Well done to everyone involved.

Really Enjoyed This Movie

I am not a big horror fan but do like supernatural thrillers. That being said I didn't really like The Ring or any of the Hollywood remakes of the Japanese films with spooky kids with black hair and eyes etc...YAWN!!!
I did enjoy this film very much, I liked Keifer's performance and could feel his distraught emotions when he had to show them. I may now check out 24 as a result.
The other actors/actresses in the film were equally good, it was well directed and well written for this type of film. All in all it made me jump a few times and I was interested in the outcome. Maybe there could be a sequel.

I loved this series, a brilliant TV show if you are into Vampires. It's not about the horror, but more like Twilight, i.e. the Vampires are trying to fit into society.
Great writing, excellent production very well edited, brilliant story lines....hoorraayy at last.
If you are fed up with Vampire gore flicks that don't cut the mustard...try this series.
The writing each week is cool, and all the main characters are well cast. the acting from all is believable, and there is plenty of eye candy for men and women.
I have given the series 10/10 as I could not find a single thing wrong with it, or anyone in it.
It may not be too every-ones taste. If you want more horror and gore then this isn't really one for you. This is a TV show so the gore is probably limited to what censorship will allow.
Nevertheless, its very well written and if you like it at the offset you will be hooked. There is enough blood sucking to keep you hooked.
I enjoyed this more than Twilight, and this was only due to the writing and story lines. I liked the settings and the characters personalities. I hope season two is just as good, I am sure there is plenty to come.
I personally am so glad a decent Vampire story has finally been filmed. I grew up with the Hammer House of Horror monthly mags and Dracula comics. And although this isn't the same, the twist on Vampires living in society is an interesting one.........I'm Hungry!!!!!!
