Suits (2011–2019)

Unpredictable
17 February 2016
Suits has held my interest from season to season with twists and turns and relationships which are not surface but complex. The premise of the show is unlikely in the extreme but made believable because of the acting and the interactions between the cast members. The good and the bad are marched before the screen, as are the petty and the grand.

The thing that has lately rubbed me the wrong way is that most people have a penchant for swearing in a particular way and the writers have given all of them the same penchant for using G-damn which is not realistic and on my part, not appreciated. The plot is so interesting, there's need to detract from that. Keep us on the edge of our seats and wondering what's next.

Poldark (2015–2019)

Rarely do I find a tale that so draws me in and that is because the story is elegant and gritty, actors outstanding, and scenery simply stunning! The word, "noble" means something and not all noblemen demonstrate it. The relationships are not predictable, nor the storyline which shows the desperation of those who scrape by--mostly with honor--and some not troubled by honor but wealth. From our first introduction to Ross, he shows his character and it is impossible not to care about him the way he cares about those in his life. I rate it higher than even Downton Abbey, which I have followed with dedication, as I will with Poldark. I hope it is around for a decade at least!

Unlikeable Characters though some good actors

I love shows that give a person reason to think and this doesn't do that and honestly the people are not likable. Only one of the elected team is really likable. The other's are largely stereotypical which isn't interesting. I personally do not want explicit info on something that happens to someone's A-hole. How is that about criminal justice? The concept of the show offers many interesting possibilities but it gets bogged down and misses the boat in my estimation. I gave this show a couple tries to like it because I'm a mystery fan. I hope something will be done to make this more of a cerebral adventure and give the viewing audience characters with some character.

Gratuitous

The acting is excellent, storyline riveting, but the gratuitous nature of the violence has now convinced me I will not be watching this show anymore.

I can't see how from a mental health standpoint there is anything responsible about showing such sick and gory acts on a FOX TV series. Make the show about the manipulation.

Alfred Hitchock could have people at the edge of their seats without the approach FOX has taken here.

Spare us the scenes that would make most people vomit if they saw it in person as we can know a horror occurred without our brains recording multiple images each episode.
