Saltburn (2023)
Spectacularly subtle and intelligent
Incredible film!
Totally beautiful and uncomfortable look into destructive obsession, jealousy and intelligence.
The acting is phenomenal, every single line is dripping with sub text.
I was lead to the film through an article criticising this film for not being appropriate as a family film at Christmas. Shockingly as an 18+
And I'm so glad I watched it!
It's a piece of art which delves into a world that is possible and not fanatical. I think everyone will find someone to relate to in this world of issues where what you see on the surface isn't what is going on underneath. It has shocking and uncomfortable moments that is needed to show this world of lies and face value image.
The Strays (2023)
What in the GCSE drama is this??
This is honestly one of those films that I call 'I watched it so you don't have to'
The acting is absolutely awful, stiff and lacking in dynamic. The script and story is predictable and obvious. Everything feels forced with no real connection to the concepts and scenes. The twist, if you can call it that is given to you on a plate.
The best part of this film is the trailer! Whoever created that made this film seems like this years epic release and not a school project.
The whole thing feels amateur. Like a high school play trying to teach you "mood"
It's starts interesting but your never really get deep with anyone on the screen.
Honestly a total disappointment.
Car Masters: Rust to Riches (2018)
Truly love it
Love this show. Simple. Love the concept, the business model and the team. We binged the second season in 2 days after loving the first.
When the last episode ended I couldn't help be say "what, the end? No more"
I fee a little lost without it, love watching the incredible business and it's hard working team grow!
Dead to Me (2019)
Incredible!
Started with the Netflix teaser as I was aimlessly scrolling and 5 hours later I've watched every episode! And when I say 'watched' I honestly mean it. Not 'watched' whilst also playing games on my phone or 'watched' it in the background of doing other tasks. Watched! Eyes firmly fixed to the screen. It's a great balance of comedy and true tragedy. The acting is incredible, the main characters are fully formed and dynamic women that really show there is always a person behind the monster.
