Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas (2021)
Welcome back Zoey and gang!
I was super excited when I found out there was going to be a Christmas movie, especially since I was so disappointed after finding out the show was canceled.
To be honest most of the time this plays more like a cheesy Christmas movie than something out of the Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist universe. Still very enjoyable just not quite the quality you would see in a regular Zoey episode.
Sweet emotional movie, often times hard to watch as this is my first Christmas since my own father's passing.
Thank you Roku for picking up where NBC left off. Hope to see more of Zoey and the gang in the future.
Sweet Revenge: A Hannah Swensen Mystery (2021)
Happy for the return, but...
I enjoyed this movie for what it was; a fun cheesy TV movie. I definitely missed Andrea and Bill. It was nice to see them introduce a few more characters from the books the series is based on including the youngest sister Michelle (although much different on the page).
Looking forward to move movies in this series.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
If your looking for another winner like Big Little Lies then back away...
So I'm a huge fan of the show Big Little Lies, recently read the book and was amazed. So I was excited to see another David E Kelly produced show based on another Liane Moriarty book.
I read the book right before starting to watch this series and for those who reviewed after the first episodes were right it did stick close to the book but after that everything goes a off kilter. The acting is great I didn't dislike Nicole Kidman like many other reviewers did. The writing however I found a little ridiculous. Would have been far more enjoyable if it kept closer to the book.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: Zoey's Extraordinary Goodbye (2021)
A Solid Finale
A lot of relationship issues packed into this episode but it was well paced. Loved seeing Peter Gallagher again, his numbers are always breathtaking.
The little twist at the end was very interesting.
Fingers crossed, hoping this gets renewed for a third season, would love to see where it takes the story.
Nancy Drew: The Siege of the Unseen Specter (2021)
Sad episode with an important message
I thought this was a really great episode! It definitely depicts an uncomfortable issue, but a very real issue. How we treat one another is a HUMAN issue NOT a POLITICAL issue. Police brutality does exists and something needs to be done. Unlike another reviewer I didn't see the narrative that all police were bad, just a broken system that needs to be fixed. The people who want to deny these issues are the problem not "Hollywood ".
A Million Little Things: Listen (2021)
Beautifully heartfelt!
I'll never know what it is to feel like I don't belong because of the colour of my skin. I can only imagine the struggles that people go through. I thought this episode was really well written and acted, and was definitely food for thought. I think it's great to see more diverse storylines, it's seems that many people are happy enough to have a diverse cast as long as the story lines don't revolve around issues that other races face. How fair is that? If you don't want to see storylines about race , than perhaps you shouldn't watch a show that features a multi race cast!
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: Zoey's Extraordinary Memory (2021)
Simply moving...
Beautiful episode, hard to watch because I loss my Dad five weeks ago today. The writing and acting was amazing! I have a great appreciation for the way the writer/director has been handling the subject of greif.
