Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (2003)
Fantastic Memories!
Corny! I love it! Corny - just as the TV show was about 40 years ago! Adam and Burt rekindle the same on-screen chemistry that never seems to have left! They re-live old memories, plus the actors that play them from the 1960s show some behind-the-scenes things which are quite interesting to know. 1960s TV was corny escapism for so many of us back then, and this DVD is no exception, if you are familiar with the original TV show. The fight scene with the written Boofs and Bams or whatever is fantastic!! The movie theater scene shows clips of the villains who passed away. At the end Frank Gorshin makes an appearance. He passed away not too long after this DVD was made, I believe, so it is to his great credit that he came back to again play a villain to Adam and Burt, just as he did to Batman & Robin so many years ago. He didn't lose his touch! Thanks to Julie Newmar to re-living a villain role, also. In conclusion I think that this DVD is for great memories, and I wish to thank both Adam and Burt for coming back and recreating these memories for those of us who remember the original-!!! Thanks, Guys!!!
Back to the Future (1985)
Excellent Time-Travel Fantasy!
Great special effects, plus a lot of brilliant acting!! This one is tops, in my opinion!! The chemistry between the actors is superb, and - it almost makes it seem so believeable that you can, if you relax and just enjoy it, think that it can be real- for the time!
Zotz! (1962)
Great Fantasy!
I enjoyed this very much as a kid! No special effects to speak of back then -- just plain great acting!! Tom Poston MADE this role, as being so believable when he comes across hidden "powers." If this were ever to be remade someday, the special effects would probably outweigh the performances.
Star Trek: The Cage (1966)
Star Trek Beginnings
For the time period - when we were still at the point where special effects were minimal, at best, and - acting by the actors and actresses had to "take us there" - this one is superb! For the time while it is on, does not "Talos 4" seem to be a "real place," full of illusions??
Executive Action (1973)
Mix of Fiction With Hard Fact!
This movie deals with a possible, fictional plot to carry out the actual assassination of President Kennedy in 1963, and - the potential motives behind it. I think that some viewers may have difficulty separating the fiction from the fact. This movie presents one of MANY possible ways that this awful assassination may have been carried out, and - more importantly - WHY! It is FAR from a documentary. It just offers potential motives for the killing, and - how they could have accomplished such a terrible feat!
Westworld (1973)
Great for 1973!
What could have been a far-fetched plot is overshadowed by Yul Brynner's very fine acting here. He makes the "attacking robot" so believable with his expressions and motions. His great acting outweighs the special effects.
More American Graffiti (1979)
Fantastic Movie!
It depicts the issues of the 1960's in very good detail. The characters are believable, and - the comedy is there throughout. I wish that it had gotten better reviews. The jumping through time is excellent, in my opinion!
