Drama School (2000)
Another Reality TV Offering
This show started on local Channel 7 without much splash. With the Big Brothers and Survivors and Popstars, pretty much no one was interested in a bunch of students at only the most prestigious dramatic arts school in Australia. Pity, this show had it all, comedy, drama, action and even a few celebs!
Unfortunately this show suffered the late time-slot that Buffy, Scrubs, and other wonderful shows have garnered thanks to Channel 7's lack of faith in it's programming.
I for one, was an avid viewer of Drama School, staying up each week till 11pm just to catch what our next crop of "talented young things" would be up to.
One day i wish to go to NIDA myself so it made it all the more worthwhile for myself.
Wonderful Stuff.
Flat Chat (2001)
why why why..
..did they take this awesome show off TV? I remember watching this show when it was first on, but it didn't last too long, and it was one of the last Aussie sitcoms we've seen in a long long time. See, the thing is kiddies, that the TV stations don't care about us so they put on crap, and axe funny and quirky shows like Flat Chat. one that, thanks to late night re-runs, I can laugh along too all over again. The always delightful Jean Kitson plays Claire, an upper class snob, who has recently divorced her rich husband, Barry (Richard healy) and is living in a horse Stable, on the property of Barry and his new wife, the always wonderful Alexandra Davies. So a love triangle of sorts ensues, and with each episode we are treated to Claires hilarity as she struggles to accept her sudden middle-class-dom.
Funny Stuff, pity it ain't around anymore, thank god for late night re-runs!
Fat Cow Motel (2003)
Great Aussie Show, quirk has it's perks
Like all great aussie shows, Fat Cow Motel is full of quirkiness and originality that set it apart from others of it's genre. Set in a small (non-existant) rural town of Fat Cow, this innovative/interactive comedy drama mystery is full of outrageous characters, an intriguing plot and lots of laughs.
Each week the audience is presented with the next part of the on going mystery, and also each week more and more towns people leave the town till eventually only 4 are left, Jack, Cassie and the most suspect characters - Ian and Martin.
Alot of people have been heard putting down quirky aussie's show, but this show proves that quirk has it's perks and was a great half hours of entertainment every thursday night...pity there's not going to be another season!
Fergus McPhail (2004)
pretty cool
Your typical aussie kids show, about a young lad, Fergus McPhail, who has a clone of himself that nobody else sees, and it's like his conscience, so there's ya typical twist on adolescent life at school, but this shows just pure fun, the characters are great, the storylines are cool and the actors aren't half bad.
give this one a shot
