The Last Kingdom (2015)
Way to GOT it
So... everyone just dies in Season 5? Cool cool. Could've just sent out one bulletin instead of wasting so much money on production of a weak closing season.
The whole "forgiveness" angle is so frustrating to watch. Honestly... It's almost unbelievable that this was the narrative.
Actors who play Edward and Stiorra are so wooden, it's just painful to watch them on screen. Not an ounce of emotion whether when happy or in pain or anger-- their expressions were non-existent. And not aging characters was a very bad move, when clearly the budget for makeup and costumes on this show was very high.
Terribly disappointing.
A Million Little Things (2018)
Breathtakingly boring
First of all, do any of the men work on this show? One is dead, one is a failed filmmaker, one is a struggling musician and God knows what Gary does apart from making bad jokes and chasing skirts. Where do these people get the money for all their fancy houses, children and ridiculous tropes?!
The women literally carry these losers. Kate is a lawyer. Maggie is a doctor. Regina and Delilah run Someday restaurant. Darcy is a physical therapist. And some of them are mothers! Just... Horrible writing!
Lost in Space (2018)
God awful!
Where do I even begin!
Terrible, terrible writing. No character arcs, no relationships. Horrible cinematic music that's a cross between LOTR and the Avengers (didn't expect anything better from Chris Lennertz). Great visuals, but wasted. Non-existant plot and literally no storyline.
Do not waste your time.
Brené Brown: The Call to Courage (2019)
Just a big talk about Brene's life
Is she a professor, is she a stand up comedian, is she a constant talker... Who even knows.
I felt like I was watching a comedy show because Brene talks and then waits for the audience to laugh. Just her tone and body language and the words she uses. A big part of me didn't connect with her like I did during her first Ted Talk.
All she did here is talk about her life. Her husband. Her kids. It was so boring, I'm surprised people were actually sat there paying attention and LAUGHING.
I get you need a narrative to relate to your experiences but she just kept going on and on about her personal stories. Not to mention her constant reference to being a Texan. We get it.
Call to Courage just didn't hit the punchline. There was nothing to learn from this.
Legally Blonde (2001)
Sounds about white
Yeah, the movie is cute because Reese is cute.
But can you imagine this was released in 2001 and did not have even one person of colour! I mean, from California to Harvard to law firms and not one steady character (unless you count the judge or the pool boy) who is black or brown. Even Clueless from the 90s had better representation than this! Just deeply disappointing.
