The Great Escapists (2021)
If you didnt understand the title
It's an escape.
It's fun.
Taken at face value.
Science dropped in here and there.
Get over yourself and just chill.
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
One of the worst films ever created.
Simply put... This is how you waste Two Hundred Million Dollars.
From the non-cinematic feel. Cheap overused CGI. A script a five year old could write. All the acting was cheesy and terrible. These are great actors and they all deliver their lines like this is going straight to DVD. Did they even review the takes? The fate of humanity is at stake and everyone has forgotten what emotion is. It was so ham fisted together entire portions should have been cut and the science... Even for popcorn sci fi action at least get some science right. Ronald Emmerich does not know how the core of the Earth works and needs to stop making movies that feature it. Please stop giving this man money to make movies.
I Am Legend (2007)
Not true to the Book at all whatsoever
Nothing about this movie stays true to the novel is was based. I watched several interviews where they state that they stayed true to the book. They literally made up an entirely new story about an outbreak and named it after the book. They literally remade Omega Man and made it worse. First off they are Vampires. He died of lethal injection, not sacrificing himself, He was captured and to be hanged for killing so many Vampires and not joining them. He found the dog, tried to befriend it, and ultimately got it into his house where it ran under his bed and basically dies. The girl Anna is actually a Vampire in disguise because they are evolving to be the the sunlight. She is sent to trick him and she lets the Vampires into his home where they capture him. Nothing about the movie fallows any of this and they felt free to change it so much that it created an entire new story that doesn't represent the original in the least. Its a typical Hollywood rape of original work.
A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)
Why? Did? They? Even? Make? This? Film?
98 minutes? Why did they even make it? The first film is the only actual Die Hard that exists. After the last film, this movie proves that a paycheck now is better than a lasting legacy. It also proves (maybe) that if WE don't want it WE won't watch it, hopefully in the future (I doubt) Hollywood will finally stop making unwanted sequels and reboots. I haven't been to the theater in months because I don't want to pay good money for 90 minutes of fluffy re-imagined by the book sequel garbage. And yes I will never buy another DVD again because I'm tired of those shitty grey colored disks that have nothing more than the film and some subs for $20. The only extras included are an option to watch the other film previews, which usually include an advertisement on how great the extras and quality for Blu-ray are. Hollywood STOP ALREADY!
Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (2011)
Very clever and cool movie!
With the same quick and zany humor of the first film still fresh in my mind, this movie has multitudes of clever slapstick. every scene is filled with fun and quick humor. I recommend this to anyone of any age that likes fun, full out silly movies. The cast is amazing and ranges from super well known, lesser known, and legendary actors. they all put 100 percent into their voice acting in this film. never a dull moment between the action and comedy. there is so much hidden messages and innuendo humor that it would take several viewings to get it all. the amount of gags in this movie far out weights any Disney movie any day all day. I highly recommend this one for everyone!
Deadland (2009)
Very misleading cover, impotent acting, story, and delivery.
I'm not sure the director, writers, actors, and crew really knew what they were trying to pull off here. thumbs up to the DP for a different over all look and feel, but its not original enough to separate it from other post apocalyptic films. this was little more then a "The Road" clone shot for thousands of dollars cheaper. the dry or highly overacted actors made me cringe more then the imminent danger and insanity of people left to survive the aftermath of such event. they don't seem to notice the currant situation of the destroyed world, other then some vague mentions of medication and the plague not hunger or radiation. its so over-dramatized in its flashback love story, but gives us nothing to find a connection with the characters so that we will care about their reunion. the cover of the DVD case delivers a different feel then what this movie even represents (main protagonist wearing a leather jacket, gloves and belt of shotgun shells wielding a sawed-off double barrel shotgun.) none of this ever is seen in the film. the protagonist never actually holds of fires a weapon at all. the reverse side of the DVD box has him firing an M-16 rifle, none such exist in the film. pictures of an abandoned city are seen on the cover and reverse. but the whole film is set in either the forests in Georgia or interiors set in L.A. Nevertheless this film is what is is, a low-budget version of "The Road" shaky at best. its bound to be some sort of low-budget cult movie.
