As good as the original
14 April 2020
I worried this wouldn't top the original Hebrew version. I am so glad to be wrong, I get all the same fuzzies and feels I got before and it's just different enough being a different culture n all and with the newer social references that I almost forgot it was a remake. At any rate I'm only thinking of the other version because I'm gonna need a fix as I impatiently wait for next weeks instalment. Thumbs up guys!

Oh and hopefully this one will make it past two seasons... the other version left an unforgivable cliffhanger

Uncorked (I) (2020)

The rating is for the trailer. I really wanted to see this
13 April 2020
But five minutes in after salivating over the bbq scenes, I'm disgusted by the profanity in the dialog and soundtrack. Maybe this is how people talk and maybe this is the popular music, but not in my circle and I don't raise my children to think it's okay. So I am disappointed, other than that the movie looks well made and of an interesting topic. Hopefully someone will write a thorough synopsis.

Awesome I guess, for a Target Ad

That was my overall impression of the cheesy opening song number... I'm a sucker for a love story so I'm gonna stick this monstrosity out till the end but seriously... anybody else feeling like a trip to Targèt? Oh! Auto tune... yikes (facepalm)

Worst acting ever
21 August 2019
I'm only watching to see just how bad it's gonna get.

The first messed up thing was how they did the interaction between the paper boy and gothel. They were obviously not really interacting with one another and you could see the boy was in front of some screen it was so bad. And the terrible acting is almost cringeworthy. Even the kids aren't charmed and they impress so easily. Oh and I'm finding the oven tech boy with his ikea nail set absolutely hilarious...

I've never made a movie... I'd probably be just as bad but that's what personal collections are for... best to keep flops like these private.

The slapstick over the top Dad!😠
1 December 2018
I have a perpetual look of disgust in any scene he is in. He is absolutely cringeworthy. So much so that I'm not sure what else is going on in the movie as I'm only 10 minutes in but I'm ready to call it a wrap. To switch an actor for a cartoonish nut is unforgivable. Oh! We've hit the wedding planner scene🙄. That's two cartoonish nuts.

Amazing!
6 November 2018
The credits roll and I'm ready to watch it again with new eyes... a greater appreciation for the subtleties. This movie had a lotta love put into it and it shines thru with zero glamour... very realistic so it touches you deeper. Much respect to everyone involved.

This character is autistic
19 September 2018
This was a beautiful portrayal of a man on the spectrum and the spectrum of emotions that define his life. The genius, the beautiful way his mind operates makes me love and want to know those in my life who struggle with this even more.

For all the reasons I wanted to applaud and challenge this character, I loved this movie.

I gave it 3 stars to be fair
20 July 2018
I felt the need to be fair because I haven't seen the movie. I simply watched the preview and immediately jumped on IMDB to see if anyone else found it cringeworthy. I was literally folding in on myself by the end of the preview. So I have no intention on torturing myself through the whole movie.

I'm watching with a look of perpetual disgust.
6 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Everything is wrong. Mrs. Whatsit and her snarky commentary really got under my skin. Charles Wallace is annoying, and not in the too old for his years way from the book... I'm still watching at this moment but the look of disgust has not left my face. The only okay character is the dad. Even the mom misses the mark. Like when Mrs whatsit came over. She reacted wrong, she should have taken the visit in stride as if even if it wasn't normal, she'd patiently wait for understanding. And the whole dressed like a bag lady with the socks and galoshes... that was an iconic imagery that the white frilly pouf Reese wore didn't catch at all. And she is just bubbly in all the wrong ways. Oh and where were the twins? Sigh. All wrong.
