Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
What a great start for the summer!
The second movie was boring, and the third one was practically painful to watch. So, I was not excited when I heard about ANOTHER film. The other two were already unnecessary. Yet, I saw the preview and I was like, "hey, this might be decent." When I saw rottentomatoes.com gave it 33%, I wasn't surprised. Then, I went to see the movie with my brother and a few friends. I was shocked. It wasn't painful to watch. It wasn't boring at all. It wasn't too long. It was exciting. I don't understand all the awful reviews! This is supposed to be an entertaining, fun movie! Everyone is over thinking this! Every summer movie is going to have flaws! This movie doesn't deserve all the trash!
I enjoyed every second of the movie, and it didn't waste my time. Yes, the plot is sketchy and some of the characters can be annoying, but really? This movie is fun.
Kids will love it. Fans will love it. Even people who hated the past 2 movies will love it.
You don't have to be a fan to enjoy this movie. So, when you go to this movie, just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride!
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)
Lower your expectations
I loved the series, and couldn't wait to see the movie. I was expecting something great, especially since I knew the author had been on set helping out the movie.
I walked out of the theater furious. I was upset about how they messed up the plot, the characters and the places. The camp was nothing like it was supposed to be. The characters personalities changed extremely. The plot was 0% like the book. I had wasted two hours of my life.
A year later, I decided to watch it again and lower my expectations. I just pretended it wasn't based off of any book-and I realized it was surprisingly good. The acting was good, the action was good. Sometimes I thought the the script was written by a four year old.
But, it's a kids movie. Kids should love it. If everyone forgets what book it's based off of, and just enjoy the action and new plot, then you might like it.
Therefore, I give it 6/10 because sometimes it has poor acting and bad dialogue. But other than that, it's an enjoyable kids movies.
Plus, I enjoyed it even more because of Logan Lerman(:
Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010)
Yeess (:
Everyone says the Ben 10 series's are for boys from 7-12. I disagree. I'm a girl who started watching this when I was what, 9? And I've grown up with this show. I've always been worried about the next season not being as good as the last one, but i've never been disappointed. Good action, good plots, great jokes, awesome for kids of all ages. Maybe to lots of people it isn't good but that's mostly because they didn't grow up on the show! Give it a try! Ben can be very cocky sometimes, which can get on my nerves-and the way that Kevin is always turning bad gets really repetitive. Yet the show is growing up, along with the characters. There is drama for the older kids- action for everyone. It's one of the best shows out there, and I can't wait for the next episode. I just hope that the episodes to come will be creative and unique!
