Dao mu bi ji (2016)
Not bad
Of course, this movie is not such a masterpiece, there's a general incoherence to the story, but it's not boring, with some good special effects. Lu Han is totally unsuitable for the role, this guy is just expressionless in my opinion, his acting really that bad, but he's a pretty boy and that's all that matters to his numerous fans. Jing Boran and Ma Sichun are suitable, proficient martial artists & skilled weapons performers, but the pair lack the chemistry necessary . Vanni Corbellini works miracles in his bit role and in clichéd script, with his intense expressions reflecting emotions and thoughts, but, once again, his talent was wasted.
Le foto di Gioia (1987)
Good Thriller
The film looks like a classic Italian Giallo, almost a parody, with eroticism and many nude scenes. Actually, it's a good psychological thriller. The director Lamberto Bava manages to keep the suspense till the end, with a lot of false leads and several suspects. The most interesting part of the film is that the spectator can see the murder through the killer's eyes, his sick mind. Bizarre homicides, beautiful use of colors, cool soundtrack. Serena Grandi and the models are just gorgeous and sexy, David Brandon plays his part very convincingly, just a cameo role for George Eastman, Capucine shows off her class in the small role, the rival. I would like to say thank you to Lamberto Bava for choosing Vanni Corbellini, Gioia's brother, very talented actor. In the end, there are many psychoanalytic themes.... Delirium: Photo of Gioia is ultimately a pleasant, interesting, bizarre and surreal movie.
Antonia - Zwischen Liebe und Macht (2001)
Well-made film
It was a real surprise! It begins as a classic soap opera, the story itself is by nothing new... a law student named Antonia, attractive young lady, a Cinderella, who eked out her income with a bit paparazzi work, meets a charismatic millionaire and both fall in love... but then it becomes a crime drama and keeps great rhythm, there aren't boredom or sluggishness. The story is always engaging and interesting until the final, with funny, romantic and dramatic scenes, big emotions, solid entertainment. Very good director and beautiful scenery. The whole atmosphere provides authenticity. The actors were very well chosen, in particular Kai Wiesinger as Leonardt Ahrendorff, that has something that makes him for women certainly desirable, and Vanni Corbellini, absolutely perfect for the complex and enigmatic role of Philip Stein. Definitely, the film has story, great actors, drama, love and passion.
La buona battaglia - Don Pietro Pappagallo (2006)
Beautiful Italian television miniseries
It's a very good television miniseries based on the true story of Don Pietro Pappagallo, a Catholic priest who assisted victims of Nazism and Fascism in Rome during World War II. He was arrested and executed in the Ardeatine Caves massacre on March 24, 1944. Some people have given great performances in movies, for example Flavio Insinna, Don Pietro Pappagallo, and Vanni Corbellini, who has played the evil character Pietro Koch, son of an Imperial German Navy officer and an Italian woman, leader of the Banda Koch, famous for its cruelty and violence. The script is solid and the photography is very nice. "I have fought the good fight, I have run my race, I have kept the faith". I highly recommend this film!
