The Good Doctor: The Family (2022)
A beautiful episode
This was a really lovely episode. I tears in my eyes a lot while watching it. It was very much a transition episode. Staff coming to terms with what happened last episode, what led to that, and reconnecting with each other. As well, it signified a new beginning, a way forward. I got from it closure, connection, hope and love. Probably my favourite episode this season.
On the Verge (2021)
Americans!
Americans have such a narrow view of what they like to watch. This is why so many amazing shows made in other countries need to be remade for US audiences - even if the original show had English speaking actors.
Just because this show (the characters, the plot lines, the pace, the relationships) don't fit their cookie cutter world, its not good enough for them.
If you don't like this show (or other shoes that have non-US influence) I suggest you watch anyway. It will expand your limited views and challenge how you see yourself and how you see others. It's an opportunity for growth. Please don't disregard things just because they don't fit your own experiences. Learn.
The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014)
A satisfying three-course meal
Far out! Most beautiful amazing movie I have seen in such a long time!
Ticks every box.
The hundred-foot journey had me hooked from Mumbai to Heathrow, Paris to the village Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. The soundtrack was a great combination of French classics (La vie en rose, and Hier Encore) and Bollywood fun.
Romance, drama, culture, comedy and a love for good food go so well set against the French countryside.
Helen Mirren and Om Pari were well cast, as the owner of the French restaurant, and Hassan's father, respectively.
Plus, Manish Dayal is SO damn fine! I've added him to my wish-list
