After Life: Episode #3.6 (2022)
A beautiful ending to a spectacular series
Oh my... Wonderful, just wonderful.
I kept crying throughout the entire episode. I understood what Gervais was about. I am disappointed in myself for thinking it would be cheesy. I missed Sandy and Roxy in the series but Ricky made everything make sense. The realism was unmatched.
I just wish this sort of humanity was expressed more. Because I do have faith that we have it within us.
James Acaster: Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 (2020)
Phenomenally moving
He is incredibly unique, untouchable. Brilliantly written yet the delivery is so natural. Such an innovative and comically clever way of describing pretty dark moments of his life (e.g. Through the viewpoint of his agent). Loveable, communicates tremendously, made me laugh out loud when I was watching it alone, as well as feel for him deeply. He is changing the course of stand-up. I wish him all the best in whatever he does in the future as well as for his general well-being.
Phantom Thread (2017)
Brilliant
A film with characters who are neither good nor bad. They are real, raw individuals, brilliantly brought to life by astounding performances.
Daniel Day-Lewis is phenomenal. His glances, slight moves of the head, his intonation, his everything belong fully to the character and carry so much realism. It is impossible to think of the actor while watching him embody the role of such a complex person.
Once again, DDL achieves perfection.
