The plot is a new take on pod people but it is hard to tolerate the irritation of the squealing score. I suppose this is supposed to enhance the menace of the plants or some such, but it only succeeds in making one want to rip off one's ears.

Insult to Intelligence

Expectations were high that this would be something on the order of "Moon" or "Gravity". Sadly the producers of this stinker couldn't be bothered to research that on the ISS THERE IS NO GRAVITY! This was such an insult to my intelligence that after 15 minutes I stopped watching. Had there been any kind of a plot hook within that time I might have been persuaded to continue but just watching the daily routine in an environment most people realize does not exist turned me completely off.

Young man has cancer and dies. That's the plot. Period. He has a mother and a girlfriend who go through the usual emotions. The point of this movie may be that no one's death is special. This movie certainly isn't. It could have been a depiction of the emotional and physical trauma involved with such a situation, but it is just tedious.

In spite of the Blair Witch/Cloverfield fake documentary style, the first 75 minutes of this movie sustains interest and suspense as the supposed exposure of a con-game style exorcism turns into something more. Excellent acting primarily by Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell (who can do frightening things with her body) makes the plight of the Sweetzer family and the cynicism of Cotton Marcus a great setup. Then the imagination of writer/director ran out and we get a horribly unsatisfying clumsy steal from Rosemary's Baby and Blair Witch. This movie insults the viewer with a cop-out ending and leaves a bad taste. 8 point movie loses 5 points for phoning in a 1 point ending.
