Season 2 was SUCH a disappointment...
30 July 2023
I mean, both leads were excellent, acting in general was good, but what is that story?

All the way from the tortured, too long and rather idiotic dialogue at the beginning, to the unwatchable last episode... I hated this.

When I think I loved the first season so much, I'm even more angry. I gave a 10 to the first season, but hardly 4 to the second.

This was such a good critique of Christianity at first, and the story of Job was rather nice, but then those love stories for the feeble-minded, out of character behaviour of the main characters, more than diotic main plot...

If you have nothing to say, shut up.

I've seen much worse with way better reviews
12 August 2022
I am baffled by bad reviews of this show.

It is a thriller, we do not know who characters really are because the story reveals them from episode to episode. The protagonist is played by a beautiful and talented actress and we follow her through her struggle.

Realistically, I would have given this show seven stars, ten is just because it has been so unjustly criticized. All in all, it's a pleasant entertaining show.

Garbage

In this crude mix of bad acting, shameless propaganda and badly written story, only Amy Brenneman was interesting to watch. Unfortunately, she is not present enough.

I gave it two stars only because the actors are pretty, otherwise it's a zero

This may well be the worst film I saw in the last ten years. So full of shameless stereotypes, unrealistic characters and horribly shallow situations, no wonder I couldn't remember if I'd seen it or not. Oh my god.

Ian McKellen & Sean Bean
12 August 2020
You shall not pass! has long been The Most Important Scene of the film, of all three films, and I'm so grateful to the actor for doing it so well. Sean Bean's character was presented exactly like I was imagining it while reading the book. The two of them are the reason I watch this film at least twice a year. I gave 9 stars because of the stupid love scenes... Really. Hollywood must spoil everything.

The best new show I've seen in 2020
20 April 2020
This is such a good show. I didn't mean to write anything here, but seeing bad reviews I kinda have to. The first two episodes are just like I love it: simple, tense, lots of subtext, little gestures, not everything is explained to death and simplified... yummy. And now, at the end of the second episode I CAN'T WAIT until next week to see what happens next. And it is not based on a book, so I cannot read it to see. One of the shows I'll surely watch again after the season is finished if it remains as good as it is now.

Politics instead of fun
9 April 2020
As soon as I saw Trump, yet another time, I turned off my TV. Just before I go, I want to say that I LOVED the show, all the characters were so fun and interesting, even in The Good Wife when the show was politically biased, I put up with TV brainwashing and followed the plot. Last season was horrible, but I loved the actresses so I watched somehow, hoping that the 4th season would be better. But now it's finally too much. Come on, people.

Can't get enough of this show
2 March 2020
People who know me know also that I'm rather picky with my television. I haven't watched many popular shows, but this one I watched twice. That said, PLEASE!!! renew it for season 3. And 4. And... And Mr. Scott Ryan, you are such a creative force, don't stop creating. This world would be more bleak without you. Thank you.

How much can these people DRINK?
26 December 2019
I really don't mind drinking, smoking, sex and violence in anything if it is justified, but those characters start every freaking dialogue with a whole bottle of booze surrounded by clouds of smoke, so instead of following the plot, I keep asking myself: how are they still standing up? No wonder there's no sex here. I mean, i's logical. And the dialogues. They are all So Important. And Heavy. So Heavy and So Important. Full of Momentous Meaning. And Atmosphere. That's why they're so slow. As though the showrunners wanted us to Absorb Every Moment of this pretentious peace of... television. (Seriously, you can go make a cup of coffee or give somebody a call or clean the kitchen while it's on, you won't miss anything.) I started watching this show (oh, why?! why!?) and if I survive, I'll finish it somehow. But I seriously don't care what happens at the end. I just want it to end.

Love it because it's provocative :)
23 November 2019
I'm watching the fifth episode now and it's excellent! I love it even more because it is provocative for those who can't see further than "F-words" (which is ridiculous), those who are so blind and see "far left propaganda" (they obviously couldn't recognize "the left" if it pokes them in the nose) and especially those who can't stomach "feminism"! I myself don't see any special feminism nor anything left, but I appreciate the patriarchal point of view of MeeToo movement. I am actually learning now why male predators and patriarchal abusers see themselves as victims, which is something I've seen, but could never understand. Those guys who overlook thousands of women killed, raped, victimized by their male partners, and relentlessly talk about "dangers of feminism". Great show. And the actors are just amazing.

Funny, witty, entertaining
8 March 2019
I've been looking for a good show to watch and I'm so happy I found this one. Anna Paquin's character is energetic, witty and interesting. I love feminist dialogues in the show. The one that starts with "what's the difference?" in episode 1, was really spot-on. Hopefully, there will be a season 2.

The war in Croatia finished 27 years ago!!!
27 September 2017
God, how I hate Hollywood when they represent "small" countries. We're only 4 million, so even if we all start screaming at once, who'll hear us? When you lie so blatantly and recklessly about Croatia, how can anybody believe you when you speak about, I don't know, Afghanistan? Syria? Lybia? Venezuela? North Korea?

I used to love Duplass brothers, I really did. But I guess they're no better than the rest.

Cults follow similar patterns
14 February 2017
While I was watching this show, I couldn't help asking: "What about other cults?" As a "former cult member" (believe me, it is not easy to start referring to myself like this! I, too, believed I was saving the world!), I see almost all the mechanisms and symptoms of brainwashing and mind control that I experienced myself while in a cult.

And there's another thing. Scientology seems to be taking a lot of money from people, but that cannot be its main motivation. I think their belief system, sense of purpose and, of course, the intoxicating power over other human beings are the thing that fuels these structures. Another former member of my cult wrote something like this: - Without it, you're just nothing. You can sit by the road and cry.

I think it would be interesting and useful to compare other cults to Scientology and see what are those human needs they respond to.

Scientology is not at all the only one.
