Squid Game: The Challenge (2023)
Oh My God, oh my god, OH MY GOD
After watching a couple of episodes, I cannot believe how stupid this new show is. It is a bunch of very unfunny people compete in games inspired by the Squid Game continuously make exaggerated reactions with no twist and fake drama. The whole thing feels very fake.
They unnecessarily talk a lot about their experience when people can just see what's going on.
It has reduced a great show to the level MTV "date my mum" basic-ness.
Why these people feel the urge to say Oh My God when the game is the exact same as the show? Why producers couldn't think of a new challenge or a simple twist? Why they talk so much explaining every unnecessary detail? Why did Spencer agreed to choosing umbrella? Etc. Etc.
This show is a huge waste of time. If you have not watched it then don't. If you're in the middle of it, stop watching it.
The Birthday Wish (2017)
Not good at all
Was on TV and I decided to watch it. It was horrible.
You watch for 5 minutes and you can predict the whole thing. Girl wants to get married but boyfriend doesn't propose (like 2 billion other movies). Then a wild handsome colleague appears. At that point you can guess what's going to happen and this movie makes sure that it does. I don't understand why someone would find this movie any good let alone 10 star reviews here. Maybe they have a crush on one of the actors or they are very young and this is the first time they see this story.
Killing Eve (2018)
Horrible plot, not so believable acting
I watched the first two episodes of the first season and could not watch any more of it. It is the story of a female assassin of highest calibre eliminating enemies of a mysterious Russian boss and a super intelligent but clumsy and likeable MI5 agent.
Apparently MI5, the agency in charge of security of UK with operators in most of countries of the world is run like a third rate event organising company.
The support villain assassin also has mental and emotional capacity of a 9 year old and has this really lame relationship with his handler.
Then there is the Tuscany murder where the legendary assassin is employed as a waitress presumably filled in an application form with her picture and witnessed by many many people including guests, other waiters and particularly a kid which almost witness her murdering the target. Police comes and they just don't cannot figure it out.
Then suddenly we get bombarded with information about the gent in his 60s including his orientation, his marital status, his sexualities endeavours and how capable and experienced he is. But the super capable experienced guy does not detect that the super villain assassin is laying a trap for him and gets murdered and you wonder should you feel sad now specially because you know he is gay but did it with his wife to have a child.
It is just not believable. I don't understand how critics can overlook these flaws and praise it wholeheartedly.
Bachelorette (2012)
Worst movie I have seen in a while
DO AVOID IT IF YOU CAN.
I happened to be in front of the TV while this movie was on. In essence it is a story of bunch of single women whose oversized friend is getting married to an eligible bachelor.
The first thing I noticed was that every 30 seconds or so there is a loud screaming scene. Women start shouting at each other for no good reason.
Then the story is so bizarre and cheap. Women are jealous of their friend and as if they were 3 years old they act on it in the worst possible way.
There are supposed to be jokes but they are so bland and then every now and then there is a reference to a sex act which I am not sure if supposed to be a joke or not e.g. right after they have torn the bride's dress in half, suddenly you notice one of the girls is discussing how much head she was receiving from a certain partner.
There are some good actresses involved but they act so unconvincingly that you really think less of them.
It was too much for me and I stopped after watching the first half.
