Andor (2022)
Don't like it, sorry
I see a lot of reviews saying the script is great (don't see it) cinematography is great (ok it looks good) and it "so not Star Wars"
Well guess what, I love Star Wars, I'm 47 so I've loved it all my life, I also love movies and TV shows, good ones, ones that have interesting characters (this doesn't) great dialogue (this doesn't)
It feels laboured and dull, it's like Star Wars if it was an Icelandic police drama on Netflix, I was immediately suspicious when they released 3 eps on launch, it's because literally nothing happens, they knew if they showed eps 1 and 2 without 3 (where things do start to move at least) then it would flop.
Well after 5 episodes I'm tapping out for the first time ever in this franchise, I've watched and enjoyed everything, from the holiday special to Last Jedi and beyond, hopefully someone will release a film cut like they did with Obi Wan, then maybe it'll be more palatable.
But for now I'm done, bring on Mandalorian in February.
Reno 911!: The Hunt for QAnon (2021)
Coming from a big fan
Awful, just plain awful, I love Reno, I really do, I liked Miami, I am a fan of all these guys individually and when they work together.
But this is genuinely just bad, I don't think I raised more than a smile on maybe two or three occasions, badly made, no script or story of note, waste of time that will never be watched again.
Need to watch some original Reno to cleanse my mind. This can't be my last memory of Reno 911 (I'm not dying or anything but you get what I mean)
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Not great
I can see where all the negative reviews are coming from, the story is lacking, the motivation of the bad guy is unclear and really nonsensical.
But there are positives, I really liked Kristen Wiig, she did a great job, not sure it paid off ultimately though, the return of Steve at first annoyed but that did pay off, Gal Gadot is amazing, the film looks great.
Worth watching, It definitely could have been better, a missed opportunity which doesn't give me much hope for the future of the franchise which will be a shame.
We Can Be Heroes (2020)
Entertaining kids film
Not going to win any awards, but my kids loved it and it kept me entertained, also has the absolute bonus of having Haley Reinhart in it (and on the soundtrack) which is just a win all around.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
I'm sorry but I really liked it, people need to relax
44 years old, mad Star Wars fan, tattoos, posters, toys, Thought the last Jedi was poor, but this is great, it's Star Wars, it's got some fan service sure, but I'm a fan so happy for some of that, so sorry but loved every imperfect minute of it, and so did the three people I went with, two of them mad Star Wars fans like me.
