The Acolyte (2024)
What did I just watch?
There is no way this could've been written by someone older than 12. It's baffling how it went through a "rigorous" approval process, with many people involved, and they thought "yep, that's awesome, we're doing it!"
At first you'd think "damn, that's the worst dialogue I have ever seen", but then you'll quickly realize that the character motivations, and especially their actions, are much, much worse than the dialogue.
I have never much cared about Star Wars. If this was the first thing I ever saw about it, I would make sure to absolutely, under no circumstances whatsoever, ever see anything else in the same universe.
But at least costumes, make-up and sets are half-decent, right?
The Witcher: Everybody Has a Plan 'til They Get Punched in the Face (2023)
I guess CGI is enough nowadays?
This was an epic competition on who could make the most dense decision imaginable. Just when you thought it can't get any worse, the next person jumps in with an even more stupid one, then the next, and the next... Of course, at this point any character development, any powers and abilities that have been established don't matter in the slightest, if suddenly everybody acts in the most counter-productive and obtuse way imaginable.
I didn't like the previous seasons or episodes much either, but this one is just hilariously... entertaining is one way to put it. Although it was weird to laugh with so much gore on screen.
At least some of the choreography and effects were not bad, that's why it gets a generous 3/10.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Please send help.
In anticipation of this I re-watched the first couple of episodes of Enterprise.
Sadly, I didn't have time for more. I don't think I ever watched it fully, a mistake that I will soon correct.
I now watched the first couple of episodes of Discovery.
I started vomiting. It's uncontrollable. Please send help.
