Perumazhakkalam (2004)
Perumazhakkaalam - a must watch before death.
I had tried to see this movie for the past 5 years, but never had an opportunity. Once I had it, I just feel that i did a great injustice by prolonging it for this long. I'd have given a salute to everyone who worked for this movie. There was a time, when movies were made just for the sake of pure entertainment. This one is not just entertainment. Values rather than riches, fun, food drive the life. It made me realize how empty is the life of mankind without love, mercy, forgiveness.
A special mention in the film is for Meera Jasmin for portraying Razia flawlessly, Kavya Madhavan for her silent conflict in decision & a big thumbs up for Kamal (my favorite director) for redemption of both the main characters in the form of forgiveness. Loved this movie so much that even watched the Hindi remake. Its without doubt, the director and the writer are among the best who've made it into the cinema world.
A must watch for everyone. This one instills values in life which are lost somehow in the busy chase of life among the deserts, where seldom one gets the view of Oasis.
Hate Story (2012)
Hate story
A generous six out of ten.
The movie is well constructed and directed stylishly by Vivek Agnihotri. For the acting part, Paoli Dam & Gulshan Devaiah were terrific. Nikhil Dwivedi was just going through without any expressions on his face. The erotic scenes were not so explicitly required for the plot except during the seduction of minister. Its seems some critics are not reviewing the movie following the erotic scenes, but come on guys, I don't think we should hesitate to be straight forward. Films are what the society is. There's nothing which people doesn't do, doesn't wish to happen. Or else its bombed. I think this movie is one up to the mark to the Hollywood standards. Truly the industry has evolved a lot. Overall, its a good attempt at perfection for a not so sound story, but good work should be appreciated. Thumbs up. Go for it!
