Oppenheimer (2023)
The greatest movie I'll never watch again
It's not often I say that. Joker, American History X, and now Oppenheimer are 3 phenomenal movies that I'll never watch again.
Why?
Oppenheimer was a fantastic portrayal of Robert J. Oppenheimers life pre, during and post Manhattan Project.
The atomic bomb scene was an absolute cinematic masterpiece, and one of the best film moments of recent years (or decades)
The movie is an incredibly heavy 3 hour biopic that never slows down. It's a heavy watch, but the payoff is phenomenal.
Cillian Murphy puts on his best cinematic performance yet, and Christopher Nolan takes us through his story in an expertly crafted movie.
It's as close as I can get to being a perfect movie, but one that I'll likely never revisit.
If you haven't seen it, go while it's in Theatres.
From: Once Upon a Time... (2023)
Good pacing, shocking twist and a brilliant ending to an average season
Season 2 of From hasn't been a patch on Season 1, with the exception of 1 or 2 episodes, so the finale was going to be critical for the shows success - and they absolutely stuck the landing.
The writers finally give us answers to the cicada storyline this season and break it down for us... however, this entire storyline felt like it pushed the forest monsters to the side for most of season 2.
Going back to this episode, very clever pacing, several shocking moments, and the last 2 minutes of the episode... well, nobody was expecting that, to see Tabitha escape the town was exactly what the show needed.
Season 3 has potential to be brilliant. No more side plots, we're right back to the monsters, Jade looks like he could be on track to figure out how more of the towns secrets, and Tabitha, well, she's going to have the most interesting storyline in season 3, how will she cope with having escaped? How will she go back... and has she really escaped?
To summarise, very average season, but a finale that will definitely see me coming back in 2024.
From: Ball of Magic Fire (2023)
The story moves forward. But not forward enough.
With one episode left in the season, we were hoping for more by now.
You could probably get by without having seen episodes 1-7.
Episode 8 really moved the story along and presented a new threat, episode 9 leveraged this and pushed along a little further, but not enough for a penultimate episode.
We have about as many answers as we had in episode 1, and far more questions.
However, this episode did present some very interesting story pieces and theories-
1. The townspeople finally got together to piece together what had happened in their dreams and find a solution.
2. Sarah presented and awesome theory that the monsters are nightmares of previous townsfolk - this explains the random monsters (someone might fear the doctor, hence the monster dressed as a doctor, another, funnily, might fear his wedding, hence the bride, and Sarah's brother feared cicadas.
Lots of questions, not alot of answers. Episode 10 has the potential to either really push the show forward, or hold us back and take 2 steps backwards.

Better!
Finally, after a lackluster Season 2 (Albeit from episode 6 which was much better), we finally start moving in (some sort of) a direction.
Victor's character takes a big development arc here, with a reveal that really caught me off guard. His tragic childhood and mysterious knowledge of the town starts to come to fruition, and they finally loop back to one of the biggest questions from season 1 - the lighthouse.
The episode ends on, what I thought was, a very good cliffhanger, setting up the next episode nicely.
All in all, an entertaining 45 minutes that finally moved the story forward in the right direction.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
A typical Will Ferrel Comedy that will make you smile
I will be honest I was quite slow to watch this one when my friend suggested it, however when I saw the cast of Adams, Ferrel and Brosnan, I said I'd give it a go.
Watch this movie with an open mind, and you will enjoy it!
Wil Ferrel does a great job at giving us that classic Terrel comedy he is known for. While the move could have been a half hour shorter, several scenes certainly will bring a smile to youre face.
All in all, its a decent, feel good movie that will have you laughing! Would recommend
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Here's why this episode is so much better than everyone is saying
I'm going to get hate for even saying I enjoyed this episode. But i do not agree with all the negativity surrounding this episode. A rating of 4.5 out of 10 is absurd. Heres why.
First, yes, this season was awful. The pacing was terrible, it was far too rushed. It should have been 10 episodes, Dany going mad should not have happened in one episode, I'm still fuming over Cersei's death, the Long Night was a major dissapointment, and I'm not going to defends The Iron Thrones flaws either; like how Jon went from 'She is my queen' to stabbing her half an hour later, or how she was completely unguarded in the throne room, or the fact that Drogon flew off never to be seen again. This episode could have been better, but guess what? It will never be remade. So stop whining.
Why did I like this episode? Because the last 10 minutes reminded me why I love this show. When Jon said goodbye to his family to leave for the nights watch, it reminded me of season 1.
Arya finally got what she wanted, to explore. Sansa finally got what she wanted, and Jon got to go back north, where he belongs, with Ghost and his Tormund; the two people who remind Jon of who he was many seasons ago.
For me, those final moments gave me nostalgic goosebumps that brought back memories from when I was 16 years old, watching this show for the first time with my father in my living room, to now watching the finale in a different country.
This show has been a part of my life for my final years in school and my entire university life.
Jon Snow has been a character I have been following for all my adult life, and seeing him literally ride off into the (not really a sunset but yknow) was enough to overshadow the terrible writing of season 8, and make me appreciate how Game of Thrones was and always will be one of the greatest television experiences of my life.
