Lucifer (2016)
I just finished Lucifer and i am not okay / Deckerstar deserved better
Finishing the show - withdrawal
I finished the show last night after watching it daily for about a month. Now i feel empty, nostalgic, sad, mad, touched, anxious. A mix of many emotions. Even if the end felt perfect for me, i would still suffer from it ending, let's be real. This great show could easily have 16 episodes instead of 10 all seasons or have a 7th season. But now i can't help but feel devastated.
I could not sleep and i got an overdose of content for the show, like being in my own hell loop. I am here to share my thoughts and feelings with people that hopefully may understand.
I already watched the finale a bunch of times, sob all over again, watched bloopers, interviews, reunions and table reads as comfort. I only have made such a post one more time when i completed Sons of Anarchy but that was different, and i also had similar emotions with Lost(whose ending feels similar to me with this one, without oversharing info-spoilers).
General perspective of the theme
I never expected to bond so much with these characters or love and care for the series, i only knew Lucifer from his small cameo in the crossover on Arrowverse. The concept was surely interesting while i only was familiar with half the cast from other shows(Linda, Ella and Amenadiel). Silly me.
Pause to thank you for saving Lucifer since i wasn't watching back then, where of course i would participate in the campaign in social media. I can only i imagine how outrageous i would be if there was no continuance after the best rated(in imdb) episode of the show and such a cliffhanger.
Lucifer offered many laughs, tears and food for thought. It's such a great comedy with a great cast, all interesting and likeable characters that you could just enjoy and relax/ find comfort. Until it isn't just that.
Supernatural/ Celestials
They held back for a long time from exploring more the lore of the celestials, heaven and hell but after season 3 this changed rapidly. I found the concept of both places as kingdoms a little weird, but i am fine with it. Although having an angel war for who becomes God and rules the universe was a little off for me, even though amazing in the process.
*It was great that they introduced a lot more angels in the endgame and showed us how the 2 realms work, even if we don't see the mechanics, like how they fly to Hell or Heaven(they open a portal? Or for Heaven they just fly high enough to a hidden location?) How can no one see angels flying around LA? In the end i don't really care about specifics.
When God made an appearance i was so eager to have answers about many things but many of them stayed open for interpretation. Also God retiring was funny but also a little surreal, as the rest of the show to be fair.
*When Goddess of creation was around, she acted as a villain which i never understood, along with the fact that she was trapped in hell. She was not behaving like God when he appeared and that was strange for me.
*We never got a proper explanation about the time freeze in the PD, i always expected that maybe baby Charlie had the power and did it but it turns out(?) it was Amenadiel without knowing after all.
* They never explained how Adam and Even just went down to earth.
Deckerstar
I will be perfectly clear, i wand happy endings and i need closure when a show ends. I don't want open endings, it's just a cheap way out. If i am to imagine some of the stuff why bother show me the rest?
After watching dozens of shows, i never was so desperate for a couple to be together and happy as for Chloe and Lucifer. I may have also developed a crush on Lauren German along the way and i can't be objective, but the next paragraph is for her.
I don't care about the comments for her acting, if she had lip fillers or a botox. Chloe is beautiful, her eyes are gorgeous and her expressions are wholesome. It's the little "mhm" that she mumbles most of the time. It's the "anyhow" she says. It's her smile when she plays the piano and the way she says "hi, Lucifer". I had the feeling that Chloe and Lauren would be similar personalities, but after watching a bunch of clips she is a funny troll, i loved her even more. This also confirms that she is a wonderful actress. The times she is a little more loose and goofy are few, would be nice if there were more. She is cute and hot without even trying, by dressing simple and almost never wearing sexy clothes. The only time that she has her nails painted is in the wedding of Eve.
*It annoys me that they never addressed why God blessed her existence. The whole growth for the couple is ignored if we take away that she indeed were born for Lucifer to be soulmates and change him. On the other hand, i accept that as a purpose and i am happy with the outcome so i don't want to see it as manipulation.
*I think that the teasing went a little too long and it took forever for them to be together, so we did not have time to enjoy them as a couple, as whenever they had a kiss, a disaster followed. I would really liked it if they had a full season working as a happy couple, after all they both loved solving crimes so we would enjoy more inside jokes and maybe a partnership against a villain.
*When Chloe goes to heaven, i find her reaction to Lucifer "what are you doing here" strange. Lucifer didn't forget her for millenia and he flew to heaven right away, and it's like she forgot everything instead of hugging him, but maybe this was bliss and there was some ignorance involved because of heaven. Still, i find the ratio of earth time and celestial extreme. Could be 1 earth minute to 1 month in hell and not eons. This impact was not shown for Dan's time in hell too.
Ending
There is no other word than bittersweet. I really try to focus on the "sweet" part which is Deckerstar being together for eternity but as it is fresh, i cannot still accept that.
I can't help but feel mad and sad for the conclusion, why not have fully happy ending? If Amenadiel can be God and be present why Lucifer can't do the same when his role as healer is even less demanding, time wise?
The strategy for Amenadiel with the help of the angels was great. This whole plan would work fine for Lucifer also. We know that Amenadiel was the best choice for God but even that outcome would be better than the one we got.
Nevertheless, there were so many other ways to go with a feel good epilogue.
-Easiest and closest to the finale, Lucifer could do his job and pop daily back to earth to be with Chloe while Rory doesn't know. He didn't even stay until her birth! There was no need for him to leave so soon.
-There was no need for this time travel loop and him not being present. That's the direction they went to but he could find his calling in numerous other ways, simplest one from Linda in therapy like most of the other things he learned. They could also make it that the loop breaks when he realised it and be present. After all the whole concept is a time paradox.
-Chloe could be immortal with the ring and they would stay together on Earth, i can see though that she would not like to be alone in earth without Trixie, but this happens anyway so she could visit in heaven from time to time. Maybe this would be the best positive scenario even.
I am fine with Rory's appearance in general but of course you could not care for her more than the others you have bonded with for so long. And she is the reason that Lucifer leaves so she gives us reasons to dislike her.
The whole point is for Lucifer being with Chloe and then the focus is on Rory and his love for her and i feel that's unfair for Deckerstar. When Chloe comes home with the baby she is not relieved or content, she is happy but also sad and she "understands" but she misses Lucifer. She lives a struggling life without her love and has a annoying brat than blames him. On the other hand Lucifer is waiting for thousands of years in hell for her. At this point i hear their piano notes of Heart and Soul in my head and my heart aches.
*Why not live a happy life with their friends and family together on earth? And then they could also be in heaven and Lucifer would still work his hell therapies and return there, where all would be. When Chloe goes to hell she sheds a tear, probably because she leaves behind in heaven all of the people like her father so again she sacrifices something. Alternatively after their life together we could keep the ending we had in hell, but they could also show that they can visit the people they love in heaven, since it's possible. Just give us something dammit, because they deserved better.
If they wanted to throw a curveball and make as sad first, we could see Lucifer saying goodbye to old Chloe since she would go in Heaven and then choosing hell and suprise him.
Amenadiel can choose to live on Earth and Lucifer is forced to choose something else. Deckerstar deserved the best possible life because they did not have a chance. So many obstacles and when they finally got together, their relationship was a thing for what, weeks? Months? On and off for 1-2 years? Since the show had 6 seasons, they could have more time. Everyone than Dan and Chloe got their happy ending in life. I get that the afterlife is the big picture but a good life is also important. They also did Trixie dirty by not knowing.
I am happy that everyone got their happy ending, Ella is amazing, Amenadiel is great, kind, and hillarious. Linda is great and she was a huge part of Lucifer's growth. Dan's death was unnecessary, if you plan to have Lucifer go away why also kill Trixie's father? The show did not need dark turns. Maze and Eve had a deserved happy ending but they would also end up in heaven so all the more reasons for a happier finale where Lucifer can go anywhere with Chloe. Lucifer becoming for others what Linda was for him is fitting, but he could also work together with Amenadiel or keep solving crimes, or both. Tom's acting is unique and amazing.
Thanks for reading.
The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
It's bee a hell of a ride! It's not goodbye it's see you later...
Just finished this and i have a lot of mixed emotions right now in a good way.
I am sad because it ended, i am happy for the spin offs that are coming, i am hopeful for any potential crossovers in the future so i am less heartbroken than i expected.
The episode had it's twists and turns, but it was also wholesome in many ways. The glimpses of the what's to come and the memories of the past were delivered masterfully.
We had moments showing again the strong bond between the characters that reminded us that they are a family.
A huge family with many losses since the start that also expanded with new members and translated in new series with spin offs.
With how many main characters are going into the spin offs, i can't help but wonder why they make multiple spin offs instead of a big one with all of them together.
In any case i have melancholy because its over, but positive thoughts also because my beloved characters will keep appearing on the screen.
And sure FTWD has it's ups and downs, World Beyond was absolutely mediocre, but surely the new shows will be great enough, worthy of TWD universe.
So it's not goodbye Daryl, Maggie(my favorites) and the rest of the gang. It's see you later! <3.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Everything it was supposed to be!
The hype was huge. The expectations even bigger.
But it delivered. Big time!
The action sequences, awsome. The cinematography,l beautiful.
Nostalgia, funny scenes, suspense, great dialogue and good music completes this superhero awsomeness.
Spider-Man is probably the only hero that his movie can feel equally big-if not even bigger- than superhero movies with whole teams like Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men etc.
The movie is a perfect mixture of everything we hoped for, and then some more. It completes the trilogy smoothly and the runtime is full without falling off the rails for a single minute.
Marvel set the bar even higher with this one, since it's probably a once in a lifetime event.
After all this time and movies and it has the same feeling with the goosebumps you felt when you first saw the famous Avengers group up scene. Same with the reunion in Endgame.
But you know it's a special movie in the Spiderverse, and it still leaves you feeling full and waiting for the next sequel which it sets the ground for.
I watched the movie last night and my Spidey sense is still tingling!
Thank you... Peter. ;)
Eagle Eye (2008)
A Stretched Watch Dogs
I wasn't aware this movie exists until recently when my mom saw it on a TV commercial. Without even reading a lot about it and thinking it has to do with War/agent stuff i didn't care much but decided to watch it in the end.
I can say that i was pleasantly surprised because the movie is easy to watch and includes good amounts of action, tension and suspence. Sure it reminds me of a bunch of movies, both AI betrayals and Phone held hostages but it doesn't matter. With so many movies and ideas everything looks like everything here and there.
The pair of protagonists is very good and i liked the development, the sequences and the ending. The whole concept reminds me of the game Watch Dogs where a hacker controls everything electronic to clear roads and create obstacles for the enemies. Here though it was a little exaggerating as we saw stuff like Cranes and the likes that don't invlove an internet connection so they shouldn't be controlled...
✍ But anyways, despite these few flaws that want you to believe in good faith the movie is fun and keeps you invested through the full duration!

Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
A Unique Point of View at War
Before i watched the movie i was hesitating because i expected another probably boring War Movie, that is because we get so many of them that it's hard for some to stand out and shine as great and not just decent. Now this one is something different. First half is not even about the battlefield but the preparation for it and the weird character in Private Doss who has his own beliefs and principals. Less or more, most of us can relate by comparing them with our own in any subject or way.
You have your typical bullying from the tough guys, the struggles and obstacles so he will quit but his will to contribute is admirable to the point i find it somewhat questionable while he is building a life with the girl he loves and the refusal to grab a weapon may be respected but not having a way to defend yourself in the battlefield is on the edge of becoming stupidity instead of fulfilling a promise.
Second half starts with a blast very fast and is action packed and presents the war for what it is. Raw, Gory and cruel. Between all that Desmond is acting as a guardian angel for his men, even for some of the opponents. Just being a good person. He is nothing less of a hero, and while watching i was wondering if it is based on a real life story since i didn't research the movie just remembered it as a name and from the oscars list. To confirm my thoughts, the ending and the real life clips make me respect and admire this man even more.
I think all actors delivered nicely and Vince Vaughn was great in such a serious role. Palmer's Dorothy was also a nice and understandable person very sympathetic to the viewer. Good job from all parts included with great scenes, hard to watch images and realistic backgrounds and combat interactions.

Incredibles 2 (2018)
A classic superhero movie but a little different
Most of the times you get typical superhero plots in these kind of films and some times they choose to go in an alternative way with their plots, finding obstacled to deliver something refereshing. I liked this one which belongs to the second kind, since it's not about just the family fighting crime but them operating well as individuals!
The baby is the wildcard since it's overpowered and this allows for a lot of funny moments. It was nice that the fate of everyone was in the hands of the kids for the change and they pulled their weight and saved the day.
When you hear Odenkirk speak you are sure a con is coming your way because you can't think otherwise, since let's face it you can't blindly trust Saul but this time he is a legit good guy. The wife has a defining role in this part and the villain is what you expect him/her to be. The heroes license to work freely reminds me of Civil War of course but in another way so you see it as the movie's own identity.
Solid action, entertainment and some humour complete the package for an enjoyable watch. 8/10
The Lego Movie (2014)
A Lego version of Toy Story, in a good way
When i saw the ads for this one i didn't care much and didn't think it will live up to the hype easily. So i left it to the shelf for some time but recently decided to watch it. And i am happy i did since it's a fun and enjoyable movie after all.
You got a protagonist that is ordinary in every way, like the most ordinary person you can find! So he is pretty relatable for most people. Everyone will probably like the fact that they would find some element they enjoy in the movie since it's a mashup of things and anyone could be a fan of most of them. You got heroes, nostalgic toys from your childhood and realistic everyday life in the form of a boy's struggle to play with his dads collectibles.
The movie includes some solid action, decent comedy and a variety of characters voiced by great actors that fit the part. It reminds me a lot of Toy Story but this time the toys live their life in a way of spiritual form instead of moving in the real world, with some small exceptions of course. It comes down to a kid's fantasy and his wish to play with his toys and maybe find a playing partner in his serious dad.
The representation of everyone involved and the plot unfolded nicely and i think the Legos are a very nice watch and delivers solid fun to its audience. 8/10
Baby Driver (2017)
When an action movie is also fun!
I don't remember seeing Baby Driver being advertised much or if it did it hasn't stay in my head as such. So i don't know if there was a lot of hype cause i see a lot of Ratings and Reviews here so it must have been very popular. Anyway i had it on my watchlist and when i watched it, it came as a nice surprise to me!
Where to start? The cas is very rich to the point Bernthal is not even secondary role-and he could because he has very little screentime-. Baby's relationship with his step dad is adorable. I liked his hearing gimmick and the music added a lot of points to the movie, especially the late chase song choice was on point. The weird stuff with the mixtapes were also good.
The romance was nice, kind of cliche but in a good way. Fox's crazy character acted as a secondary villain next to Spacey and Elgort carried his weight nicely as a protagonist. The heist sequences were well executed, as were the chases and the drive scenes.
In a suprising twist, Spacey's character held up his end of the deal in the end and then some more, as he sacrificed himself for a good cause, something you don't see very often from these type of people! And Karma can be a b*itch but it can also be rewarding and it was very satisfying that in the end the good deeds that Baby did and kept his good character made a difference in court.
It was a fun and entertaining movie in various ways, the action was there, you have a few laughs along the way and overall i think it's very enjoyable for its specific kind. 9/10
Predestination (2014)
Good and unique but "too unique" as in too complicated
I think it was when i saw a trailer on my TV program tha i put this one on my watchlist, as the genre and Hawk caught my attention. That being said, i don't regret my decision in any way and i enjoyed the movie but i found it too confusing for the viewer as it gets more and more perplexed as the time passes and it's hard to comprehend what you see. First of all the movie has a mixed identity because the first half is completely different from the other. I found myself wondering if i remember correctly that this is a sci-fi movie about time travel because i was watching a long two sided scene that can only be described as a casual drama with the story narrated and then BAM! It transitioned in the most confusing time travel movie.
So to put it in one sentence to show how extreme the plot is, it goes like this: Girl is born, she grows up to find out she has both gender organs, becomes a man(against her will on that note*), meets a man that it's her in the future, they(same person x2) travel back in time, the man version meets the woman version and they make a babe that -wait for it- it's again her! So okay, the twist is great and huge. But is it too huge maybe just for the sake of it? I won't even begin to try to explain the paradox in the plot and potential holes because it's already so difficult.
*Strange time continuum things aside, i found it weird that they forced Jane to become a man, having surgery when she didn't even know about that. In many movies(and in real life) we see a person that is born with the wrong hormones or both organs but it's them who decide if they fell wrong about it and which person they prefer to be. This time i saw a normal girl who despite the fact that she liked to brawl like a boy she didn't have the wrong feeling about her sexuality or liking women so even the fact that John wanted to hook up with Jane is explained only as he was in love with himself or something like that.
Anyways, i found the theme interesting and enjoyable for the most part and it was intriguing until it went too far just for the big twist so i see it like a missed opportunity for something greater. Whoever watches it prepare to be mindblown and mindf... you know. But it will be in your perspective if you will love or the movie or if it will just pass you by without overthinking it. 7/10
Escape Plan 2: Hades (2018)
Not an average prison movie, but an average movie in general
I think the main reason this movie ended out underwhelming is that Stalone and Batista have secondary roles at best. It's not easy to compete with the pair Stalone + Arnold especially when the cast does not include big or established names outside of them. Main characters feel shallow, the prison is too futuristic and the mechanisms feel too complex and not like a prison at all as it's more about the Arena than the cells and the system itself. The flow is kind of confusing for the viewer and the plot is not deep at all. It's good that the movie is 1 and a half hour long. Action movies usually should not be more more than 100'. The fighting scenes are okay and enjoyable for the casual fan. Some of the dialogue and the escape sequences can be considered fun.
✍ It's a decent movie at best, but watchable nevertheless. You might enjoy it yet not get filled by enthusiasm, every film needs the proper expectations. If this one did not act like a clickbait with the major names being promoted, maybe it would have done better because the hype hurted it but it's not that bad after all. Just nothing special. 5.5/10
Skyscraper (2018)
A casual watch, you go for the action and that's what you get
Nothing new here as it's about a human slash superhero (without the powers) savior in dangerous and extremely dire situations. The movie inludes a lot of CGI which i think does not help much, and the prosthetic leg is kinda not needed as a gimmick for this type of action.
Various elements of the Rock's other films like:
*A huge building being destroyed but without Rampage's Gorilla.
*The Rock working as a rescue man in mid destruction like San Andreas.
*The Rock deilvering a nasty Spear because he had uses Rock Bottom and Spinebuster in previous films and... you can't justify a People's Elbow.
*The Rock jumping a big gap but without cars between bridges. Well this was Vin Diesel, but same franchise.
✍ Overall is your run of the mill blockbuster with pure action and little depth that it's an easy watch and enjoyable enough with decent badass characters in The Rock and Neve Campbell and generic villains. You should not have more expectations than what it looks like from the trailer so it somewhat delivers what it's supposed too. 6/10
The Walking Dead: What Comes After (2018)
Reminder that TWD is Still the Best Show Around
This brilliant episode is proof that The Walking Dead lives strong and will continue to despite the obstacles and mishaps. Perfectly executed it was a combination of:
Passion and Loyalty:
Rick's bravery and courage along with his passion to overcome the mountain ahead of him while injured and stick to his plan for a strong World of Communities are outstanding. Selflessly remaining loyal to everything that he/they are building even if that means his own demise.
Similarities and Contradictions:
Watching Rick's struggle while Maggie was going to end Negan had so many situation shifts... On one hand you have a still devoted Negan taunting Maggie while Rick says he is tired and ready to give up... A little later it's the opposite as Negan appears to be a weak broken man begging for it to end, him just returning to his cell without even trying to escape and closing his own door was a huge upset for his character. And Rick through his flashbacks/dreams found the will every time to keep fighting.
Double Reunion:
Seeing old fellows for one last time was a very nice touch for him and for us too because Nostalgia always works. It would be even better if not mandatory though if we witnessed a chat with Carl, and Lori. After all he was searching for his family, even if he has another one now. We saw old friends who had impact on him but there were also siginficant choices who didn't make an appearance like Glenn or Morgan with whom he had a lot of conversations. From those to the imaginative heroic Avengers-like arrival of his friends to our hopes crushing to the final real reunion in their last attempt to save him.
Sacrifice and Hope:
Last Scene was so emotional... We knew it was coming but most of us still hoped for a miracle maybe? Well it came in form of a Trilogy featuring Rick, just learned/read about that. Still, seeing him dedicated to the group even they had their problems and decided to sacrifice himself for a better tommorow for them was exceptional. Everybody delivered and made us feel for them but Daryl blew it through the roof, because we all know that between all of them their bond is special. They are Brothers, Brothers!!! That's why it was nice to have a last scene with just the two of them for a proper(almost) goodbye. Seeing his expression even before Rick shot the fire and he was shooting arows out of desperation was the final blow, heartbreaking. But all in all, i loved the twist with him living even if he is gonna be away from the show, it just feels good to know the character is alive and well. And here is hope for future appearances as a Guest Star... Just Imagine his heroic arrival and everyone's surprise.
Future:
The present is great and the future is bright for TWD. He will probably not be with the group in his movies and that's a shame but if someone deserves it it's him(and Daryl of course) as Andrew is an excellent Actor. That shows from the fact that other character driven episodes feel filler, and a Rick Grimes devoted episode is one of the best in the series.
Judith scene is just lovely. Her Dad's Hat and Pistol alon with her Mom's Katana. So cute and badass in the same way.
I don't like big time jumps in general but i think the rest of the season will be as intense as this with agony surrounding us. Things are changing, a lot.
Daredevil (2015)
A Different Kind of Superhero, the Great Kind! (Focus on Season 3)
What a hero Daredevil is! And what a person (and actor) Matthew Murdock is. But great villains make great heroes so credit where credit is due, Bullseye and Kingpin= Top notch foes.
Actually i didn't expect Bullseye to be such a great and powerful enemy. A second Tier "mini boss" at best, had such a huge impact on this season with great combat skills and impressive fighting sequences. But the person Pointdexter has also great depth and keeps the viewers interest at all times.
Fisk turning full Kingpin was also nice delivered. I can't remember a low point in the season, well maybe the filler "Karen" episode but even this was good for its intriguing backstory.
The series keeps it's dark and serious tone throughout its progression but without getting boring just for the sake of it. This season also had the best fighting scenes. I mean some of the were just awsome... The prison one-shot scene, exceptional. As was the finale with the Triple Threat going on, surely Fisk was the Final Boss but it didn't feel like it as it felt shared between them both. Not one character had a bad performance.
✍ Next season i would like for new villains to be introduced, and DD showed us that when one hero's show is cancelled after another he is getting just better and better at captivating the audience. Maybe the rest of the team would be better in a one show team up, DD could show up there too.
Also he totally deserves to get an appearance in a MCU movie, if not Avengers.📝:10/10
Venom (2018)
Are WE good? Of course we are! Nicely done in all areas and humour included.
So are we Venom after all? You bet we are. Spiderman is my favorite Superhero character and Venom is the best Villain/Anti-Hero because they have common ground. You know who else is also great because of that? A guy like Venom but red and more crazy, but more on that later. So Venom and Eddie stood up to their own standalone movie and delivered. With the merging of the studios with Disney i don't know how much is Marvel contributing to these movies(Venom, X-Men, Deadpool etc) in comparison to their pure Marvel in the Avengers Universe but the result is a serious movie with a main character who is relatable, strong, kind of a loser and some times pretty funny.
Now like most of us, i of course know the Venom character for many videogames and Cartoons but i have not read the old comics that the movie is built on. So i found the different approach alien-ating(wink wink) at first, but got in the mood pretty fast eventually!
Because you know Eddie is the jackass enemy of Peter Parker as Venom is to Spiderman and here he is a likeable guy. He actually reminded me of Spidey with the bad luck in a combo with Hancock in an antihero manner. Anyway i think Michelle Williams's character Anne is kinda irritating unlike her female counterparts in Spidey's side but maybe she'll change later.
The movie had an origin story that didn't drag out, some strong action scenes with great visuals and sounds and to my surprise various jokes and funny moments! If the movie was R rated it would probably touch the Deadpool lines of humour that would suit it's style but who knows. I would like if Venom had the Spiderman style with the spider symbol and swinging but i didn't mind at all. Only thing was at the end in the last fight scene that is kinda messy cause all of the CGI but i guess you can't avoid a minimum use of that in this type of movie.
Great acting overall from Hardy, the dark role suits him and Venom is an awsome antihero after all! The movie rolls pretty easily and the time passes by enjoyably. Now that red guy i talked about earlier, will be represented by a Marvel-ous(ok enough with the puns) actor and will surely bring Carnage(last one ☺ ) in the second movie and i think he as an antagonist will elevate the whole thing to new limits! Cause you know who is just about crazy as Venom but even more? Cletus Kasady, as a human that is... Now imagine what Woody Harrelson will bring to the table with this persona and what result we will have with the combination of the Symbiot.
✍ Great job, and what amplifies the movie's image even more are the reviews that brings you to the ground, because i think it was very good anyway, but when i went to watch it with low expectations today i found it even better than that. Will wait for the sequel with great interest and who knows, if Venom makes an appearance in another movie(cause sadly this didn't happen here with Spidey) that would be guaranteed fun. Maybe some reinforcements for Avengers? ;) 📝:9/10
The Greatest Showman (2017)
The World of Entertainment as it's Supposed to be
I am not into musicals, it's not my favorite genre but i can find one enjoyable if it's not full singing and resembles a movie and not just theater.
The Greatest Showman is a combination of the two and it delivers exactly what it's supposed to. Entertainment. It entertains the audience in the movie and at the same time it entertains us.
The birth of the world of Showmanship appears difficult with high risk but also high reward. The struggles of visionary and ambitious mister Barnum seem pretty realistic. He does everything he can and goes all in to fullfill his dreams
against all obstacles allong the way. The enemies are there, and they come in the shape of Fame, Envy, and most importantly Acceptance. As most people he would fall into the trap of fame getting in his head but as soon as he learns his
lesson he will get out a bigger man. The Circus will bring together all kinds of people for the audience's pleasure. Sure, money and fame are involved but it's larger than that. It's a new kind of show that would only continue to grow in
the future.
Jackman is passionate, Williams is emotional and Effron is cheerfull but also serious in a way we are not used to see him, without relying on his abs and obvious comedy. A great cast and total result in general by everyone involved, and a theme
that pairs nicely with the music and singing.
A nice and positive-mood-bringing watch. ✍8/10
Midnight Sun (2018)
A Cliché Romance With a Twist
Midnight Sun would be like any other Teenage Movie with a boy that meets girl and they fall in love, have some ups and downs and end up together. But it's not.
Mostly because they play the girl's disease card that changes the theme into a "Girl comes of age and struggles to socialize and find Love despite her limitations".
Sure some of the dialogue is cheesy, and when they try to be awkward it is... well awkward! The characters are likeable and the concept is enjoyable though. A nice surprise that contributes to that is Rob Riggle whom i am used to watch in sarcastic or antagonist roles in comedies. He is being a very nice father to Thorne here, even though overprotective he is also her buddy who she can tell everything.
Well i like happy endings and i would prefer if the movie kept the typical formula because it forces the viewer a little to be more than sympathetic, and the atmosphere is kinda sad more than dramatic at one point but the movie is a nice and easy watch overall.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Great Balance of Comedy, Action and Emotion. Just Awesome!
So i went and watched it today with high expectations and it didn't disappoint. One major achievement of this movie is that it has great comedy(Thor-Loki-Hulk are a great combo for that), it has some dramatic moments and awesome action sequences.
Fight scenes are intense and they give each character the time to shine. Including secondary characters as well.
It's also interesting that you get to see another version of each character especially with Thor and Hulk. Loki is... well Loki as always in his exceptional way.
And you got your weird eccentric Villain in a nice fit for Goldblum and a powerful female villain in Hela.
It features nice cameos and in general the movie feels important with an "Avengers" magnitude but with less than half the roster.
Nicely done... Revengers!
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
Just Finished SOA and now my heart is 1000 more pieces.
It's more some thoughts about the show than a review, but since they got rid of Threads i 'll leave it here.
I was watching SOA for the last 1.5 month for the first time. I completed it yesterday and today rewatched the ending just for some more pain and read various theories to cover my questions. Just wanna say that the Show is awesome. I can appreciate a drama but i am more a comedy or -Happy Ending and they live happily ever after- guy. But even that this series is so brutal and cruel i enjoyed it and got attached to the strong characters. It's also all about Loyalty.
Ending was really tough even though i think everybody expected it. I expected since the start of the Season Juice, Gemma and Jax ending up dead but the fact that i knew it didn't make it any easier. I was still hoping for something to be salvaged. I get all the Jesus references (after all they kept saying it through the whole series a bunch of times) and i will choose to think that Jax sacrificed like Jesus, Juice was probably Judas(his name is similar after all) but i think that's kind of unfair to Juice cause i liked him and i think he was just naive or made mistakes, not on purpose or with bad intentions. The Homeless Girl must be the only not realistic thing in the show, probably a Reaper/ Death - The mom that died from J.T. combo. BTW Jax is also a J.T. so that's another similarity with his father.
The Truck that met Jax and Mylo the guy who helped Gemma was also a butterfly effect warm and tough touch. And the Crows for me except the song were combined with the SAMCROW stuff and also bonded with Gemma cause she had crows and love birds.. So she could even became one and flew above Jax in the end.
I won't drag any longer just some summarized random things i want to point out:
-I saw where this was going and that a lot will be dead, but i think Bobby's death and tortures were just unfair. One of the most good guys and always wanted to avoid troubles.
-Also unfair is everything that happened to Opie's family.. Wife, Father, and eventually him... That was so sad for them and the kids.
-Same with Jax's kids. Lost their Grandma, mom, father and Abel learned about Tara for a tough growing up. That's why i hoped that MAYBE Jax could live with his kids away from the Club, mostly for them to have a good ending.
-Glad that Chibs and Nero lived cause they were also of the good guys.
-As i said before, Juice's demise was also sad cause he meant well and not wanted to cause the bad things.
-All the 7th season Crap that happened was Gemma's fault. So many lies and betrayals and paybacks with collateral damage...
-Finally i think Jax believed in the end what Juri said about J.T. committing suicide that's why he decided to go the same way with his same bike.. And The title and the truck(oh my God when i saw the truck Logo... knowing the title...) also suggest that he behaved like his father.
p.s. That was the second time Charlie Hunnam. First was at Green Street Hooligans, another awesome movie.
It was one hell of an emotional and tough Ride SAMCRO. Thank you, be well.
Grimm: The End (2017)
Awesome Ending To A Great Show
Had not watched the finale until now. Just want to say that mid- episode i was and would have stayed so angry and disappointed...! BUT i was hoping for the twist and it came and the ending was Awesome! I liked the reunion of many characters and the open/happy ending with the next generation.. Even Diana who is a naughty brat turns out great! Cool, you will be missed Grimm!
Every death made me sad but when the massive massacre happened i could only hoped for the change at the end and the happy ending...
One could worry that they will leave blanks and unanswered questions as in half of the episodes you 'd watch autonomous and case by case stories but in the final episodes they went all in preparing for the final battle and connecting many dots.
Also the flashbacks from back in the start were very nice, they blended in nicely with the melancholy for the invested viewers who were there from the beginning.
Finally the last touch with the "Thank You" in many languages was also kind and appreciated because if you know your audience, we also know you more.(Greek here).
Angel (1999)
From Buffy's "leftovers" to an equally great show!
(Bunch of spoilers ahead, beware)So just yesterday i finished watching Angel, right after Buffy. Both for the first time. Although for Buffy it took me a couple of seasons to be a part of the Buffy-verse, Ats had the advantage that i knew what to expect and i was already hooked to this world.
So some overall thoughts.
About the characters:
Even though this starts in Buffy, the evolution of Spike's character is amazing. He started as a bad villain, then he became a harmless comical figure("come on it's telly time" in the tub), to a dangerous obsessed -about Buffy- ally, and in the end a good person/ team player to transcend after all into a champion in Angel. He is the reason season 5 -even if it started slow- was great. Every moment with Angel and Spike was hilarious. And the few times they they were getting along were great to see them battle on the same side. Also Spike is the only one who almost reached having a soul before actually having one, as he cared and took care of Dawn for months, without nothing to gain, all for Buffy.
Wesley's evolution was very interesting too. He started as a goofy sidekick and became a serious dark key player and eventually a champion(almost). Also his affection for Fred was very nice to see and in play. Gunn/ Fred never was a great match for me.
Gunn was OK, likable and even though he needed a gimmick in the end to gain interest points he was an honest and good addition for the team.
Lorne was the colorful figure. A demon Xander if you like. He is funny and should become a regular part of the team much earlier! (But instead Harmony all of a sudden went into the opening credits?)
Cordelia's development was also admirable. From a spoiled high school diva much like as any girl/villain in any teen movie, to our surprise became a caring person. (Only after she became a higher power things got a little odd and unfamiliar)
Fred and Connor which came later were good additions too. Fred was useful in her own way and evolved from goofy crazy girl to the attractive smart woman many men wanted. And when Connor was introduced as a baby i thought it's a little out of balance for the show but then... well you know. Here we got another great fighter who is also unpredictable. Something like Faith.
When Buffy is considered for most people the more comical show, i find Angel and Ats funnier considered we saw the miserable champion landing jokes and surprise us with many funny reactions. For example singing, dancing in the credits of one episode, being insecure and of course the fighting with Spike.
Highlights:
I find it difficult to rank seasons and episodes in general, but it's easy to pick some high points here. Ats's something different(like Buffy's The Body, Once more with Feeling and Hush) was Muppet Angel which was unique! And many great moments are in season 5 so i guess this makes it the best season. It was also after a weird season with Jasmine and all. You're Welcome, A Hole in the World were also high points. Connor's arrival and remembering Angel.. Lorne's look when Fred sang.. Darla was the villain you love to hate. Series finale was great(but it shouldn't be the finale)
Concerns/ Complaints/ Disappointments:
I read that writers didn't have anything for Cordelia so they killed her. I was annoyed for Cordy's death and the reason for that.
We didn't get any closure for the Shanshu prophecy.
The ending is a cliffhanger, i would prefer keeping Wes instead of Gunn and when meteors were falling and LA was in the dark was much more fitting for and ending/apocalypse than one-on-one battles. I know it got can celled but they knew it early enough to plan the season's progress.
I hate when backstage obstacles get in the way of writing/scripts. What i mean is i was prepared to have Kate in Team Angel but she didn't stay for the show.(she had another show) I like crossovers and networks got in the way, and most importantly i wanted to see Buffy guest starring and help for the finale. Instead we got a tease in "The girl in question" by just seeing a blonde dancing because Gellar didn't want to continue the role of Buffy after mid-series and then she didn't want and then couldn't make a cameo.. Giles would be a great help/fit or Willow and all we got are some cameos from Andrew.
All and all Ats searched for its identity a lot but after starting as a detective show going case by case week after week it gained depth, had many twists and the great character development made it a great show to watch.
p.s. For everyone asking if they should watch Buffy first. Of course! It's a must, while you get a glimpse of Angelus in Ats you get a whole season to know him as the villain in Buffy, not to mention that Cordelia's and Wesley's and SPIKE's(most of all) growth started in Buffy.
p.s.2 Now i am searching/reading the comics of both shows. I think everyone should even if the transition is a little odd.
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
Great movie. Touching, moving and pretty realistic.
I like a happy ending in a movie, and even though this one didn't end in the greatest way(so they live happily ever after obviously) it was pretty enjoying.
There war great acting by young actors, but not only them. Hazel's mom mostly was very good at her part through her struggling to maintain a smile and stay positive and supportive.
The start of the romance was a little cliché, but who cares? It does not bother you at all, it was nice and seemed natural. Even they are pretty young, more teenagers than adults there was great chemistry an nice dialogs.
You don't need to have always a part that the couple has to be in war and break up or have a big fight either. They weren't together for so long, and the little fight/argument that they had about Gus being famous and all was enough.
I liked the stars references too. The text messages would pop star- shaped.
The speeches/eulogies were incredible.
A big part of the film is sad but it's just because it is realistic. The parents knowing the chances for their daughter, they are on alert every single moment but they give her freedom to enjoy her time, as Gus parents do.
The vulnerability and fears of Gus -the cool guy- felt pretty natural too.
Dafoe was a little more cruel that he had too i think for no reason to treat the couple as he did.
Even that the movie has a runtime of 2+ hours, it fulfills this time with enjoyable moments and good scenes, and i say that because many times i think some movies are longer than they should be. And when you reach 2 hours you have to back it up.
It was as raw as it had to about the illness of the protagonists, there was no need to fill the film with more moments of breakdowns and stuff.
To sum up, sad but beautiful movie. It touches you in a enjoyable way.
And sorry for any mistakes, English is not my native language. 9/10
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Great movie, great story.
People talks about the writing of the movie and the fact that it was great by Matt and Ben. I will add to this that both of them were young, 27 and 25 each which makes it even more great.
We learn the story and the problems of Will as the movie proceeds and from the other hand we witness his skills. Will was not just good at mathematics, he was very smart in general.
Shawn(Robin) had hard times to with his wife, so he understood Will and he taught him that he has to let people get closer to him so he can feel the love that he did even if he lost his. He did not became Will's therapist, he became his friend.
Will was lucky as being aggressive led hem to a cage but some teacher bailed him out because he found a math theory which he wrote. But Will was lucky too because he had good friends. They had fun together but they all new he was really smart and they wanted what's best for him.
Eventually, when with the help of Shawn Will decides to use his skills i am happy to see that the ending included the leaving of Will in the manner his best friend Chuckie hoped. He is happy for Will while he is sad that he does not know when he 'll see him again but that's a great friend.
Finally, people say that this movie didn't need to have a happy "romantic" ending but i would be disappointed to see that he goes for work and does not give a chance to the girl he connected so much. After all that is what Shawn taught him so he realized that he had to take the risk, they have math in California. I would like to watch Will surprise Skylar in the final scene but it's OK, i know he did. And he finally said "i love you".
