Star Wars Rebels: Heroes of Mandalore: Part 2 (2017)
Still keeping the childish tone
This TV show has been characterized by constant high and low moments. This episode seems to be keeping the show at its lowest.
Not a clever episode, simplistic script and very boring, unimaginative and predictable conclusion.
Just check for yourselves. The end of the episode was something to be expected from a scoobydoo episode, childish and awful.
I hope next episode is better.
The Orville (2017)
Generic scifi meets bad one liners
Another awful project of Seth "egomaniac" Macfarlane. I will start with whats good about this show whci is not much. Good visual effects and good props, I mean, quality is there but the designs themselves are so awful, like a random and lazy copy paste from previous Star Trek shows.
The dialogue is poor, the one liners aren't funny at all cause there is no setting up and they generally tend to wear the audience off cause they are everywhere and get old so fast. It is not witty at all. In terms of comparison it is worse than that stupid western movie seth created.
I could barely stand one episoed. I doubt we will see a season 2 of this. Im just surprised the amount of good reviews here in IMDb. Weirdly enough the reviews score the show higher than the general rating system of IMDb, showing how biased the reviews here got in favour of this show. maybe some Seth fan club?
THis show is ultimately not worth it. It fails as a comedy show and also as a scifi show, being mediocre in both genres.
The Neon Demon (2016)
Overrated and pretentious
This movie has beautiful scenes and thats it. It has no plot, no substance. I wonder why it is labeled as horror. It has blood and gore that seem to be there just to gross people out. I think the writer wanted to play with the contrast of beauty. I would not recommend it. THe movie is not well paced, is very boring and everything that happens makes no sense. People who enjoyed this movie are probably the ones who find the clothes of the king beautiful, when there are no clothes at all. Pretentious movie, zero content. The message the author wants to send could be done maybe in a short 15 minute youtube movie, it would make more sense.
Mr. Robot (2015)
A huge promise that ended up like a big disappointment
I had enough of this show. A huge promise that ended up like a big disappointment.
The show ended for me when the mister rational guy killed that woman for no reason at all. I mean, the guy had a rational method even to get rid of his frustrations (paying the beggar to get hit) and then all of a sudden makes a stupid move like that with no actual motivation and worse, the husband knew he had harassed his wife in the night before the murder, not to mention his DNA and prints were all over the lady. I also hated the evil queen stereotype of his wife. Also, what is the point of Ellyot right now?
So this is it. Lots of stereotypes like the evil queen, the crazy hero and so on. Very little consistency on developing characters.
The writers are pretty much lost and it seems to me the show is written on the go with no cohesion and no planning at all.
Avoid it at all costs.
Bridge of Spies (2015)
Boring, shallow characters, not thrilling at all
I got very disappointed at Spielberg. I expected to get hooked up but all I got was a boring, slow paced movie.
With the exception of Hanks' character, all others are shallow, badly developed. I couldn't care about some of the characters that are just thrown in as the movie progresses. The characters are not likable and are paper thin. The atmosphere is there but it is not very well detailed.
The plot itself is just too simplistic. If you've seen the trailer, you've seen the movie.
Not very much to say about it. Avoid or be bold and face this pile of crap!
O Que é Isso, Companheiro? (1997)
An interesting view of the situation in Brazil and a decent movie (minor spoilers here)
When I first watched this movie I was a bit skeptic about it. Here in Brazil the media tends to be very biased.
The movie is very entertaining and shows a good view of the actual situation during the military governments. They try to actually be honest about it but not with the depth it requires. The characters are interesting and the acting is good.
Nevertheless the focus tends to be on the supposed "heroes" and not reality itself. The director even addresses the real issues behind the guerrilla/terrorists groups but not with very depth.
It is a very well known fact nowadays that those groups were not fighting for democracy but were actually fighting to instate a communist dictatorship. Some old guerrilla members/terrorists even came out on youtube claiming this was really the truth behind their intentions.
The supposed heroes are also not so noble as the film portrays them. One of them became senator and somehow avoided being charged with international drug dealing. He got caught with over a kilo of marijuana seeds. He probably bought his way out based on corruption, an unfortunately common issue in Brazil.
Another one of our heroes became State Minister but was involved in nepotism. Apparently the guy pretty much hired his entire family for important jobs in the government favouring his family against the law. He pretty much fell in discredit after that.
So my point is, much of the actual facts are portrayed by the intelligence officer. His claim was actually true. They were torturing people and using questionable methods to avoid an even worse communist government. And these communist groups, most of them affiliated with the Cuban dictatorship based their actions on using young, naive Brazilians as cannon fodder.
The bad thing is that even though this is mentioned it is not explored in depth.
All in all the movie is really enjoyable and worth watching.
Star Wars Rebels (2014)
Boring, repetitive and shallow
I had high expectations for this TV show. I was never a huge fan of the Clone Wars series but I have to admit there were some good arcs. I was expecting the same here but unfortunately the focus is different. Disney aims for toddlers in this TV show and this is pretty much what dictates the pace here. The show is repetitive, predictable and dumb. Every episode starts and ends with a very predictable result. There is no bigger plot in the show. Stormtroopers are dumb to the point they wont even lock their cockpits and wont hit an elephant one foot away from them. In the last episodes of season one they tried to cater to adults more like having some cameos from some characters of the original trilogy even with the original actors but what a waste, what a waste. They even started to play the old tunes we all love like the imperial march but playing the imperial march while at the same time the Empire acts like retarded soldiers just make the attempt despicable and laughable. The Empire march was supposed to bring fear and respect and this is not the message they are sending with the stupid behavior of the Empire characters. This show either needs to change its focus or be cancelled. If you are older than 6 avoid this show at all costs.
