Animal Among Us (2019)
Unfairly reviewed, give it a chance
I found this movie a reasonably good watch, the acting isn't terrible, the plot is pretty good so long as you actually watch the whole film. If you quit half way through you will have missed a big part of the story.
Tape 407 (2012)
Best lost/found footage film so far.
I don't write reviews very often, but I thought this movie needed more good reviews.
Overall I found the acting to be superb, very raw which in this case made for a more believable 'lost/found footage' film. I was on the edge of my seat for almost the whole film, so in the gripping dept I give it at least an 8/10. Considering some of the reviews on here I wasn't expecting much, but this will definitely make it on to my must see film list.
I found the crash scene a little hard to watch, but only because it is done so well. The whole incident is very realistic and even had me gripping the edge of my seat with the characters.
The 'creature' they are pursued by isn't seen much, but we are given tantalising hints at various points. It fits in well in the scenes it comes up and looks as realistic as you can get without going for a top budget. I figured out pretty quick what they were up against, but I am not going to spoil that part of the story. There was a lot of running away, which is to be expected, but unlike 'Evidence' they weren't running for the sake of it, which I found a refreshing change.
The end was a little predictable, but still a bit of a shock, more how they went about the ending than anything.
Unlike films like Blair Witch in Area 407 they give a reasonable explanation for the constant use of the cameras, this has been something that always bothers me about these films. Yes if they didn't use the camera there would not be a film, but realistically in a crisis would you film everything??
