So, Katie Holmes is the writer and the director, and she plays the main character. It is now clear, that Katie Holmes has zero talent for writing a script. She didn't even have a solid idea to start with!

It's boring and predictable, has no interesting story or plot, and the dialogue is absolutely clumsy and amateur-like. It basically belongs on the Hallmark Channel...

There was absolutely no good reason to make this, perhaps except Katie Holmes having the chance to write, direct and act, and sort of making it look like her career is still happening.

Crappy, talentless productions like this, shouldn't even exist.

Steppeulven (2014)

Shallow

The script is not very well written. It just goes through the events with no real emotion or artistic expression. It feels like watching a tv commercial with young, model-like actors.

Many of the actors aren't right for their parts: Christian Gade Bjerrum, Johannes Nymark and Marie Tourell seem like immature acting students that belong in a school play, and Thure Lindhart is weirdly misplaced as the father of Eik Skaløe, looking almost as young as his son.

The fascinating and tragic story of the poet, singer and rebel that Eik Skaløe was, should've been told with much more artistic insight and intensity. This movie is quickly forgotten.

The Little Things (2021)

Bad script & bad acting. Embarrassing!

There's nothing interesting about this stupid nothingness.

Denzel Washington and Jared Leto have been involved in a LOT of bad movies, but this one takes the prize as the worst. Sadly, with such a poorly written dialogue, Rami Malek can't do anything to make this better.

This is pure cringe, Jared Leto in particular: desperately trying to be a cool actor, like when he did that cover of a Nirvana song, trying to be all grungy and artistic.

Yikes...

Materna (2020)

Like 99 % of movies starring Kate Lyn Sheil, this is just another pretentious waste of time. The only purpose of this talentless crap is to give everyone involved a feeling of being important artists. They're not.

Outside In (2017)

Touching and nearly perfect

I enjoyed this movie so much, I wanted to watch it again right after it ended. The main characters are endearing and charming. I love the gloomy atmosphere in a northwestern smalltown. This is a perfect example of a "small movie" that is actually greater than most big productions.

Wow this was just bad. In every way boring and pointless.

To create an absurd unvierse and ridiculous characters doesn't automatically make it funny. The dialogue is horribly written.

I enjoyed the first 17 minutes. It started out promising, cute and funny. Then it dropped the ball and turned into a sappy soap opera with really bad writing. I completely lost interest in the characters and the story. And the timeline jumping doesn't do it any favors.

Seeing Jason Segel and Casey Affleck in such a bad movie was really dissapointing and made me cringe... Some of the scene were so ridiculously poorly written, I felt embarrassed for the actors...Yikes.

A Man Called Ove (2015)

I really enjoyed the first 30 minutes or so. But then it turned pointless and boring. All the random, repetitive dramatic situations felt forced. Yawn.

The story goes nowhere, which causes most of the actors (except Ellen Burstyn) to fail.

Also when Iliza Shlesinger is among the cast, you know the movie isn't good.

So the 10 & 9 star reviews have to be written by people involved with the movie (or they asked people to create positive reviews). Cause this "movie" (you can't really call it a movie) is entirely stupid and bad. It is extremely pretentious of these "filmmakers" and "actors" to expect anyone to actually like it.
