The Hearse (1980)
Dennis Quaid is the repairman!
Just watched this on IFC, kind of reminds me of the film "Burnt Offerings" that was filmed at the Dunsmuir House in Hayward where I used to haunt about. Funny little appearance by Dennis Quaid in the beginning as the repairman! Lame how IMDb won't let me add this pre-fame credit for him. Also what's with this woman who doesn't think the bizarre stranger that shows up isn't odd to her at all. His old fashioned clothes and totally kooky behavior would make any normal woman way suspicious! Gotta love Joseph Cotten: "She worshiped the Devil!".... he delivers quirky lines like this with style! He's always been one of my favorites!
Firehouse (1973)
wrong box cover
The box cover on this page has a picture of Fred Williamson who is NOT in the movie. It's Richard Roundtree in the movie!! Where did this picture come from?? These two guys don't look alike!!
Not too bad of a 70's movie. I know the fire department scenes were fairly accurate portrayals of life in the station since I come from a family of firefighters. Tension between the guys, racial and otherwise, was and still is typical for any group of people living and working in a tight space such as a firehouse. I especially liked the stunts pulled on the rookie.
Richard Jaeckel (Hank Myers) went on to star in the TV series that was spawned off of this movie.
