Birds of a Feather: Holy Ground (1998)
Episode 6, Season 9
An awful ending to one of the greatest sitcoms

What a sad and awful ending to a great show! Not only does it get the whole family history wrong (it was established previously that Sharon and Tracey were adopted) but it is the terrible English hatchet job show where they visit Ireland and depend on all the sad, xenophobic tropes. Taciturn, moody men who are not talking to family, a moronic Parish Priest on a bike saying "God Bless You" and lots sly, slippery, shifty idiots and drunks. The jokes from the main cast are so sad and dated as if this is the early 1920s rather than the late 1990s! Pure drivel. Loved this show so much, Dorian Green was one of the best characters ever written, such a clever comment on class, money, status, feminism and ambition.
