Beautifully shot Hong Kong in the Rain
19 February 2024
This series keeps you watching because its setting is just so gorgeous. The story is not bad either. And okay I get some of the hate on Nicole Kidmans deformed underface together with her very unlikable character but at the same time I really love that elder women are now being cast for younger roles. Finally. It's great. All in all if you've been to Hong Kong you will love just being in the absolutely beautiful scenes. Makes me want to continue the Hong Kong trip by putting on a Wong Kar Wai film after.

Watch it for its beauty. The story is also not bad at all. I think it's definitely an enjoyable watch.

Great show
23 July 2023
Love this series. Good script writing. Only thing I think is completely out of character is that Sylvia has 3 kids. 3 kids! No way in hell her character would get that.

And it's presented in the show as some sort of circumstance that just happened to her and her husband but I assume these characters know about birth control. None of them seem to enjoy the spoiled bratty kids they themselves have chosen to not only get two but THREE of. It's clearly a flaw in the show, Sylvias character wouldn't have been okay with getting three kids. The husband wouldn't either.

Other than that, I think it's a super good enjoyable show that gives coolness back to the 80s kids. Thanks for that!

5 rating for this show?? Oh that's gotta be political. No way this is a 5 rating show
17 February 2022
Really great show and Queen Latifah is kickass as the vigilante ex CIA badass who's gonna get the bad guys. I find it a very satisfying watch unlike many other shows - with a 7,5 rating and etcetera. How this show could get 5,0 on IMDB can only be racist anti BLM politics, which: come on people - just rate the show for what it is and don't send hate bots to downrate it cause what?? A black woman is the lead and is kicking ass? This is 2022, get on with it. This show is great.

Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022)
3/10
Amazing show - until the ending ruins all reason to even watch it. Dont watch it!
30 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This show is really great and full on Dexter back in the game vibes. Loved it! Loved Clancy Brown and - yesss finally he tells his son.

Buuuuuuut: Then the ending happens. He goes out of character killing great guy and hero Logan. Real Dexter would have had him pass out. Its just out of character.

And: he then makes Harrison become a killer by having Harrison shoot him. Cause Dexter "can't get caught" and so on.

And he never felt love until now (he says) but he doesn't mind making his son into a killer leaving him on the run again without nothing?? The son he wanted a good life for?

Dexter would have just not killed Logan and he and Harrison could have been out of there.

Or - he could have met Batista and taken the trial - whatever else than this epicly terrible ending on otherwise 10 really good episodes till that horrible ending which was totally out of character for Dexter.

And Harrison ends of even more traumatized than before. He's got his dad's blood on his hands now.

And is sent off to flee.

For no reason since Angela says it was a cop shootout. So why did she force him to leave town.

HORRIBLE! Make a new ending please! This is so bad that you should seriously make history and do it!

Because: this show is great and this new blood series was also great. But the ending makes it un watchable. I cannot recommend it to anyone now. And before the end - I loved it. But now?

Waste of 10 hours.

Great show - But why are we seeing so much of the constantly singing friend?
10 January 2022
Cool ans colorful show But lately all the focus on the singing friend and her singing has really become weird and seems forced. Whats happening with that?

Its the absolute least interesting part of the show and we are constantly bombarded with Long full song scenes (it feels like that) of her friend singing.

Stop Please. No. More. Singing.

Good but dissapointing end
1 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Warning: spoilers:

All I have to say is: err YES Harry and the others assaulted the boy - drowned him in a toilet - almost so that he dies- and this horrendous assault WAS the reason this boy was so broken that he kills himself. They were absolutely responsible. What?? How is consistent assault and bullying not a criminal offence which in this case led that poor boy to suicide! The suicide was an absolute response to the assault that happened to him minutes before 😡

Also: what about the corruption at the station? Nothing??

Hidden forensic report to hide the facts of the case?? Eerrr massive corruption?? Yet he quits and Harry just gets kicked out of school.

I mean: I really liked the film and the suspense in it - But with THAT ending where all the crooks get to walk without any form of consequences and where police corruption just continues - I get that is the reality probably But still: give us something for sitting through this film!

The main character police officer loses credibility in the end when he just accepts the suicide as a solo incident. Wouldnt happen. The assault leading to the suicide absolutely should have been prosecuted 😡 and this man would have made sure it was! Yet due to his own past he mixes this completely unrelated incident with his own brother and "let's it go".

Not cool! Could have been awesome if those brats had been procecuted including the corrupt chief of police and that other creepy officer.

N o t c o o l.

it's okay - but miscast of main role Victoria makes it a hard watch
19 November 2021
I think it's an okay show, that also does show the struggle for police and intelligence with not too many resources in little Scandinavia, the paradise for crime and criminals (cause jail time is basically nothing there). I struggled with watching the show as Birgitte Hjort, one of the main characters - is really painful to watch - poor acting and also just - too hard on the eyes for TV in general. Not saying we need to have beautiful actors all the time at all. But - she's just super hard on the eyes and together with the poor acting it becomes a huge drag.

really good show - but the kid is too creepy
25 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really like this show, and I think it's quite spot on academia. The daughter though is really creepy and also - what's up with Dobson suddenly being her play-toy / slave "why did you leave - come back and read me a story" - while he's taking two minutes talking with the woman he's in love with after having made her a meal??? AND he then actually interrupts that meal and goes read the girl another story after having already spent the whole day and evening reading her stories. Wut??? Super annoying that the kid is getting to boss the adults around like a little dictator and everyone thinks its cute or fine? That really put me off. Set some boundaries please! Maybe it displays parenthood in the US, I don't know. But it's putting the show down that a child gets to be a tyrrant and everyone is cool with it.

But otherwise: great show. Please make more.

Great season 1 and 2. But season 3????
15 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 and 2 are really really good and full of suspence. Season 3? About this white privilege guy with no charisma at all who has been blindly doing what this other psycho Nick has told him to do. Just following his orders. And now this Nick guy comes back and he again does what he wants? He kills all these Nice people without any regret at all and his philosophy is the most teenage self centered bs it's unbearable to watch. And Ambrose feels symphathetic towards this pathetic Dude? The police does not lock him up at all. Cause he's a white middle class guy? White priviledge? He just continues to take his time to think over who and when he wants to kill again - all free in the Streets. No cops.

And at the end he cries "I dont wanna die" But he felt no remorse at all killing all those other Nice people? They didnt wanna die either! This boring guy is baby sitted through killing whenever he feels like it throughout this whole show and the show wants us to feel sorry for him? And his teenage philisophy bs which is all about little Jamie who feels alone?

Also the show does not at all push back on this Nick guy who is just every other manipulating sociopath who lives to torment and control others. Seriously??? Wtf! This reeeally put "Sinners" down alot. Good show but this? Boring and horrible. Following a white guys cozy time in trying to find meaning out of boredom by killing others without any sort of remorse. Then in the end when he's about to die he doesn't want to. And that's deep? Wow. What a life story to follow. Not.

dont believe the reviews. This is an 8 and it's a suspenseful crime thriller about corruption in the cool settings of Hong Kong - political reason for low ratings is my guess
1 March 2021
I almost didn't see this show because of the low reviews making me think that the show would have tons of lose ends or a terrible ending or just a bad script og whicever problems. Not true at all. Happy surprice - a great show with nice cinematography and settings in the cool Hong Kong. I wonder if it's a political reason that the it's been down rated so much? To avoid people from watching it perhaps? Because honestly - it makes no sense at all.

I've given it a 10 to even out some of the negative reviews. I would give it an 8 in reality. Really enjoyed the show - and everything is tied up in the end.

except for the career bashing boyfriend - great movie
31 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Really good but when re-watching again here in 2021 the boyfriend who won't even allow his girlfriend 9 months of career advancing super hard work without bashing her down so much by saying she has no integrity anymore - which she totally does - is just hard to watch. Less mean boyfriend wrapped up in a non threatening "cutie" next time please. He is a total a**hole and is using psychological manupulation to get her to drop the job. He is in reality really mean to her. If she does not do what he wants there will be hell to pay. Andy is just to nice and underdog'y.

unlikable
4 November 2020
Good romcom - the usual but still good. The only thing was the expected story development of American RomComs where the girl - it's always the girl - get's unreasonable sour, angry and extremely unlikable. Script writer should watch British romcoms where girls are both cool AND funny - like REAL funny. Don't know what's going on with the US romcom cliché of unlikeable chicks. I did like the poop your pants scene though. Girls can poop and still be cool now. But why does the girl have to be so mean and unlikeable where the guys is douchy but still cool and likeable. Can't they both be cool? Please join 2020 and bring in likeable characters BOTH male and female. Because frankly, this type of character writing builds up on mens negative stereotypes of women. Which makes this film kinda misogynist.

pretentious movie "hiding" its boredome and kliche in a false notion of being "unique" - its not
24 May 2020
This film is set up as a theater play. Within the absurd theatre genre. It's super boring and nothing happens in it. The only funny thing is the creepy kid, but the entertainment of that element runs out after a few scenes when you get used to it. The instructor is obviously making a kliché critique of us humans living in the hamster wheel. Yawn - another one of those? we get it. Life is - according to the instructor: eat sleep reproduce and die. And we're all "caught" unknowingly in this hell. yawn again.... yawn yawn yawn. Pretentious trying to cover up its lack of originality and lack of ideas in this piece of boredome. If you're considering suicide - do watch this. It'd be a good last movie. You may even die from boredom from watching it.
