Bookie (2023– )

A comedy?

The short if it In eight episodes I did not laugh once, while in theory all the bookies both the two main and two supporting are supposed to be the heroes of this show they are extremely unlikable.

The longer bit.

I'm wishing the writers strike went a lot longer as these people can't write in eight episodes we got zero character development they can't seam to write a likable character any more.

Two chameos by Charlie Sheen can't save this turd.

Speaking about Sheen while Charlie was not a good person in two and a half men he was a likable character none of the bookies are, maybe the gut from lost had a chance but... This is a bad show avoid it.

Ahsoka (2023– )

Better than most Disney star wars

This outing was better then all current Disney star wars atemts it was better than obi-one and what wore those other ones, right nobody cares anymore.

Rosary Dawson plays ahsoke a character from two cartoons that neither I nor a lot of people didn't see up to a point that I got an email from IMDb about which episodes I need to see to understand this show, I'm not watching 15 30 minute cartoons to understand 6 30 minute D+ episodes.

Ok about the elephant in the room, the story is incoherent again we are shown light sabres are non-lethal weapons in the disneywerse, the whole point of the first two episodes is finding a mcguffin that holds a map to a different galaxy where an emperial admiral is so... What's the point of this rant well it's art just as ahsoka is.

Do watch this show then cancel d+

Black Adam (2022)

Better then most comic book movies in the past two years

Black Adam was one of DCs top anti heros an adversary to captain marvel aka schazam and latter a ruler of khandaq and sometimes Aly of the jl.

Now I have an issue with modern writers taking existing characters and completely rewriting their history and characteristics making them nothing like the characters they represent. And this was done badly for Adam.

One more issue I had was with Russian helicopters flown by vilanus African American and 50 year old ladas with German licence plates in an Arabian country meaning a miss from the production team.

The supporting cast was good but misplaced.

The sad fact is that this citchen had many chefs and none of them knew or cared about DCs characters not fans.

As the last attempt to save the Snyderverse which was a failor with the first move this was a miss. DC fans will be annoyed with the abuse of the characters they knew the normies will like it.

I know this was a eant but he'll they want 600+ characters for a review.

This is an ok movie to watch for free when there's nothing better to do, not overly woke tho.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)

Better than most Disney phase 4 content

Quantumania might be among the top phase four releases from Disney but that's not saying much.

This will be a spoiler free review as I can't be bothered to spoil it.

As the title suggests most of the movie takes place in the quantum world which is a good thing as it removes current world events dislikes putting in their content, the movie has a comic feel with tons of cameos, the main cast is good, i love Douglas and Pfeiffer however Rudd can not carry a blockbuster, the conqueror was meh... Sadly he got him self cancelled and we won't be seeing him again.

The main problem with this movie as with most current Disney content is the writing, dialogue is bad the story is incoherent if you're a D+ user or have access to it free it's an ok background filler if not skip it.

It's sad imdb is forcing me to write 600+ characters for a review.

Die Hart (2023)

Recycled garbage.

You know something is bad when you've completely forgotten about it in two years.

I like Kevin Heart I like comedies and I like action movies so the premise of this movie looked good... A few years back there was this streaming service that produced 2 minute scripted content it failed after launch this was one of it's premium properties. Sadly I did watch most of this when it originally came out it was bad then.

Now about this movie, as a comedy I didn't laugh once an action movie it was not and after re-warching some of it I noticed how dated it is, Statham was in Transporter 15+ years ago and Dexter was a thing before that, these high value properties wore dated when this was made now they show how old the people that know them are.

Ranting aside this is a bad recycled product the only good thing in this is John Travolta for kids today he's the guy your grandmother's wore crashing on in the 70s.

Andor (2022– )

A breath of fresh air

This show is a welcome change of the previous Disney outings in the Star Wars universe, the characters are multi dimensional and the story engaging.

My biggest issue with this show is it is a prequel so we all know how it will end which perhibits you to really care about the main cast.

One thing that bothered me was the corporate police since when was the empire a corporation, that being said the supporting cast is excellent and brings the show to a new level.

After writing all that I still need over one hundred characters so I can post my review well I am writing this paragraph for that reason alone.

DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

A fun overview of some of DC pets

This might be one of the better DC movies on the past 4-5 years.

While most DC fans know of krypto and ace a huge chunk of regular viewers do not.

This movie explores kryptos back story and takes a lot of liberties of Aces one but still comes with a decent origin of the dark knights pet.

The vilan in this toon is as wonderful as the heros I'm not spoiling who the main vilan is but it was an excellent choice.

The voice acting here is excellent the rock and Heart have wonderful chemistry and play off each other rather well, the rest of the cast is as good.

On the pet side of things we are introduced to some pets of the rest of the JL and all I can say is Barry's and Diana's pets are a hoot.

The reason for the 6/10 rating is the convoluted backstory for a lot of the pets still a good time killer for hbo-max subs.

Elvis (2022)

Less than the sum of its parts

An interesting bio pic about the king of rock and roll.

A movie about one of the greatest stars of the 20th century, it has a stellar cast who give an excellent performance sadly watching this movie was a chore I barely got thru it. The biggest problem this movie was that it tried to show too much of Elvis carrier and didn't spend sufficient time showing anything of consequence.

There was a lot of bad in this movie a bad script, terrible pacing, little to none character exploration. We see nothing about who Elvis is or what motivates him this hole thing was just a long collection of scenes.

I really wish this had a tighter story and better script but it is what it is 5/10 from me it's not bad but not good either.

Day Shift (2022)

a 2022 guilty pleasure

This is a not a good movie by any means but it's a fun one.

The idea looks interesting on paper but it's underdeveloped I wnder if they're planning on sequels.

This movie works only if you turn your brain off and go for the ride, sadly some questions remain after the credits end.

Are Vampires known to exist in this world and are they Mayan as Rodriges showed them in his Dusk series or classic undead euro ones, what is the union, why are vampire sangs sold and bought and why does the union pay so much for them, why are vampire fangs worth money ... ah carp just turn off your brain.

Jamie Fox was somewhat enjoyable in this, Snoop was great, the choreography great and the sets bad.

But it's free on netflix and and better than most of the theater releases this year.

The Gray Man (2022)

European vacation part II

This was a boring movie and having Gosling and Evans in a thriller and bearly getting thru it is a big deal.

On the production side this is a big movie but being shot in euroland I'm betting they got a lot of government stimulus yet it cost 200 million and it didn't go to cinemas, I'm smelling some bad laundering.

As it's free on Netflix watch it in the background this is a thriller that's not thrilling at all.

The Rehearsal (2022– )

Creepy and sad start of Discoverys reign over Warner

I was hiped for a new 9 rated comedy but what I found was beyond creepy and disturbing, a middle aged man being afraid of a 'friend' and misrepresenting his degree to friends entering what is this.

This does feel like it was released by Discovery but Zaslov will have to do better to get and keep subscribers.

Hustle (2022)

a different kind of sandler movie

This is a different kind of Sandler movie, not a dumb comedy from happy gilmore but a drama from Happy Gilmore productions, it tell the story of a nba scout and his most recent prospect.

While it does have some of the old Sandler one liners this is a touching sports drama.

The Man from Toronto (2022)

A watchable netflix romp

This was a surprisingly watchable movie from Netflix.

Kevin is always fun to watch and seeing Woody as a hit man.

Most of the jokes fall flat but the chemistry between the stars is great.

While this is not a good movie by any measure it's a fun way to kill off two hours.

Lightyear (2022)

This movie is not out of the theaters and it's already streaming that shows what a hit and miss this is.

I watched all the original three movies and was a fan of the original buzz lughtyear character.

This movyhad nothing to do with toy story except a shameless money grab and gaslighting of it's original fans.

I watched it streaming and that was too expensive Rip house of rat.

Morbius (2022)

A complete miss

This was a complete miss for Sony I don't know what wore they thinking.

The writing the directing the pacing is all non existent, the casting was another miss, Leto can't carry a movie the man has low charisma.

This is definitely a movie tv out should miss.

Man vs. Bee (2022)

Mr bee not quite Mr bean

The thing about Mr bean was he was a baby in a man's body, this character is not, the premiss would have been good for a single episode maybe a reedited movie but for a series it's a miss.

Compared to some of content we're currently getting this is not bad but it's not good either, 4 out if 10 for me for not making me laugh once.

Day Zero (II) (2021)

No inspiration only propaganda

While most of what was presented in this documentary is true the way they did it reminded me of old school propaganda videos I'm not sure if this documentary had a proper script or not what we got is a rant by that swedish girl who cried about stuff without any life experience, what is true is parts of the world are growing and drinking water will become much more expensive that's nothing new this documentaries author has nothing more than it's your fault, I recently watched another documentary called river about water and that one was both aye opening and good avoid this political propaganda.

Space Force (2020–2022)

Just not funny

I hate prequels as you know how they end, however the worth of a story is in the journey not the destination.

This story however has no journey has no feeling and generates no emotion.

The Valet (2022)

Not a single laugh

This movie was anything but funny.

The high rating was the reason I decided to give this a try and man that was a bad decision.

Whyle not overly woke (exception being the PIs) this movie had a bad plot bad casting terrible acting and an unpolished script and it was based on a semi decent french film.

I didn't laugh once, the vilan is not really vilanous the hero is unlikable the heroine is attractive but shallow and by the end you don't care about any of them.

The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes (2022)

Missed opportunity

Watching this you'd think that these wore sixtee year old tapes of old Hollywood not scripted audio from payed actors this documentary needed a proper narrator as even tho all the information presented is fairly known by most people the way it's presented is a mess.

Sadly nothing new is shown in this documentary and a lot of people can skip it.

Moonfall (2022)

A 150 million asylum movie

This movie is so bad it's not good, if it didn't cost 150 million and was actually made by the asylum it could have been good.

The story is laughable the acting wooden and the script looks like it was written by a 90s teen that didn't have access to the internet.

I've read somewhere that these big budget flops are actually money laundering scams or was that the plot to the Get Shorty reboot.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022– )

Another disappointment from bad reboot

I had high hopes for this show, I liked the principal cast and I loved the concept, sadly the writters from JJs camp showed they can't write, episode 3 cemented it for me.

RIP strange new-ish worlds I won't be wasting anymore time on you.

Dota: Dragon's Blood (2021–2022)

Mehh just a waste of time

Has nothing to do with dota.

Season 1 has 8 episodes yet 5 episodes in I have no idea what this is about, the first episode intro seamed interesting how ever that mythology us quickly abandoned, the only thing writters had going is profanity and death gore no real story.

4 stars is being generous, still not as bad as other Netflix outings.
