Monolith (2016)
Questions
The other reviews cover a lot of what I'd like to say. The movie is far too full of commercials. It's boring. It's tense but not for the right reasons. It's hard to like any of the characters.
Questions: Who slaps on a pair of leather pants when it's 108 degrees? Who puts their child in a fluffy bear suit on the same blazing hot day?
Grown Ups 2 (2013)
Walked out about 30 minutes in.
It was just plain awful. Is it funny when a deer urinates on several members of a family? Not really.
Why did all these grown men have a weekday OFF to drive around in a (stolen?) school bus and then hang out at K-Mart?
It's the middle of a school day, when employed people are usually working, and suddenly one of these men remembers that their daughter has a dance recital....because dance recitals always happen in the middle of a school day...when the kids are in school....and the parents are working.
Dance teachers attend recitals in 80's workout spandex and then proceed to dance with the children...sure sure sure.
It was beyond raunchy. Are there adults out there who seriously get excited to see breasts bouncing around? Are they over the age of 19?
We walked out and got our money back. It was a level of stupid that is not even slightly entertaining. What a WASTE of a really good cast.
The Factory (2012)
Just a mess...
Here's what I didn't like: I live right outside of Buffalo. It bothers me that our city was displayed as a rundown dump. The interior of EVERY building/house/hotel was a dump.
It does not snow here 24/7. In fact, most of our Thanksgivings do not have any snow at all.
Minor thing but, still wanted to ask this: Who has a Thanksgiving dinner after dark? Isn't that meal usually served midday?
The ending was shocking, but mostly just ridiculous. It doesn't make sense. At all.
If we were supposed to forget the movie was filmed in Montreal and go along with the idea it was Buffalo, couldn't the screen writer have avoided the use of the word 'Physio'? That's what they call Physical Therapy in Canada.
This is what I hated the most: I picked this movie. My husband and I take turns picking movies but if one of us picks a particularly bad movie, we lose the right to choose for a long time. I won't be picking another movie for a few months.
