Adult Wednesday is way, way, better. So, Netflix attempts to copy a real original updated version with a few big names and a more expensive production company? Shame. It's like Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio without telling you it's a musical that's music sucks and has no touching ending. Yes the dancing scene contributed nothing to the story line. This is a very weak attempt to re-do Harry Potter. Hey Tim, Mr. Burton, one of these days, I do believe you will get your creative juices flowing again, without Johnny Depp. Sleep on it and talk to M. Night Shyamalan. This is old school re-hash 60's tv shows.

ND can let a cult member (Mormon) into their school (with full scholarship) and block all the real Christians out?? (Rudy) How in the world did ND not use legal roads to block this movie? Oh, right. ND loves athletics more that Jesus Christ.
Servant of the People

Fiction to non-fiction

Every leader of any country (CEO of any Corp...sorry Charles Koch) should watch this. I send out a plea to the US Republican party to watch this. Reverse 'Citizens United' SCOTUS. Enforce the Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3.

The banks are responsible too.

It's just a story of a bunch of gold (diamond) diggers that don't know how to give a good head job. The banks know the IP address of the transaction and can actually call you or signal (via text) the message, is this really you.
American Gods

Remake

This is just a re imagined series of HBO's 'Carnival'. Nick Stahl was great in that. This story line is just a remake. The production value is great, the acting is great, the screenplay is 6 out of 10. Starz paid too much.

And I thought 'Dude Where's my Car' was bad. The first 30 minutes is music and one paragraph of talking. How in the hell did HBO put this on. 2nd worst movie ever.
Please tell Jeff Bridges not to put a gun to his head and squeeze off, from his brother performance.
MacGyver is in it too. Same smug character, It doesn't even relate to the series. Tapper's performance is OK. That's it.
Ben Browder acting again is sub-par.
I do like the fact that Hollywood has a sense of humor. This is a example to college students on how not to make a movie.

Wow, Sr. has a job.

Why isn't the NY Game Wardens after Paul Sr., there is no way he can kill that many dear without breaking the law, and the thing about it is, that he talks about it every other episode and thumbs his nose at them. Is that state that big that the game wardens are over burdened? He states, and I quote "I got an Idear". What is an Idear? Is that the cross breed of a whitetail and mule dear, or is he just that stupid. Paul Jr. should maybe recommend he go back to elementary school. This guy has a reality show.
Wow, what is America coming too. Make a reality show that prepares Paul Sr. for the test that all aliens take to become American Citizens.
Hey Paul, how many Supreme Court Justices??

Interesting
25 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
It is interesting, I've heard of Jews for Jesus but I've never heard of Jews for Mormans. Barbara Bush says "If George ever did that, I would kill him", again interesting since her son George 'W' murdered thousands. I'm not sure this is a inspirational movie with the exception that he did work his tail off. Anywho, I wouldn't be bragging about the lifestyle. I'm wrong, it is inspirational to people to say don't do this. Kind of like Janet Reno is an inspirational to little girls for killing people but not having any accountability, who wouldn't want to become a AG for America now. Go for the jobs with no accountability is the way to go. .
Gods and Generals
(2003)
Good escapism.

Really good movie.
I remember Stephen Lang as Gen. George Pickett in Gettysburg, he was great, as 'Stonewall' Jackson his performance is brilliant. The gamble to bring Stephen Lang back not only as a different character but as the lead character really paid off. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Lang was sipping a beer with a new friend about this time next year named 'Oscar'.
Jeff Daniels reprises his role as Joshua 'Lawrence' Chamberlain & Kevin Conway reprises his role as Buster Kilrain and hasn't missed a step. Robert Duvall as Gen. Robert E. Lee projects a certain reverence that I think honors the great General of 140 years ago. I would like to have seen more of Kevin Mallon as Gen. Hancock because of the conviction he portrays in his performance.
The settings and direction of the film really made you believe you were in the 1860's. This is a film of an American Tragedy that needs to be told. I believe it was real smart to forgo the blood & gut scenario of other war movie's to keep the PG13 rating. This obviously allows younger people to attend this movie, that might not otherwise go if it were rated R. Kudo's to Ron Maxwell for throwing the Hollywood cookie cutter out the window.
I believe the soundtrack to Gettysburg was one of the best I've ever heard. The soundtrack to Gods and Generals I thougth was a bit less though still powerful during the height of action and subdued during the sadder moments.
Though the movie runs over 3 hours, it goes by very quick and accomplishes the escapism this movie goer went to the movie for.
