A Thousand Clowns (1965)
To live or to exist.
I loved this movie. All the character worked well with each other, except for maybe Saks, because his speeches and lines seemed out-of-place to me. Also, they were way too long for an annoying and loud person. I couldn't wait until he left the one-room apartment. Everything else was fine. I must have laughed a million times. The theme of the movie is what I'd like to comment on. I believe that Murray can be a happy person if he continues to keep his sarcasm, sense of humor and self, and most importantly his soul. For to live happily poor is one thing, but when providing for someone else's happiness takes sacrifice. Even if that person is ignorant of their circumstances (i.e. Nick). I think Murray can live in a working society, even if he hates his job, if he keeps those fun things he did the same, but changed their form. Well, anyways, that's just my opinion. This isn't life, it's just a movie, but people can learn from it. I recommend this movie to absolutely anyone. 10/10.
Intermezzo: A Love Story (1939)
What is a friend for?
Spoilers Herein
I loved this movie, although it was sad. The only problem I had with it was that Stenborg, I thought, tried to break the couple up. He convinced her to go to Paris to accept the award, and then tries to persuade him to go home and start over. Isn't he supposed to be a good friend? When someone falls in love when they're married, it ruins the marriage and cannot be started over, IMHO. Anyways, if he didn't come back Ann Marie would have never had the run in with the car, and the whole family still doesn't like him as much after Anita. Me, being old-fashioned, would like a happy ending but oh well. Very good, dramatic movie anyways.
Zorro (1957)
Perfect
I remember I used to stay up until midnight to see this show on the Disney channel. It's wonderful. I thought Guy Williams was the most attractive guy in the world. Part of that made me stay with the show until it's end. I now own a bunch of the video tapes and sometimes watch them even today. None of the Zorro movies or shows could ever compare to this one. 11/10, if that's possible.
Dead Poets Society (1989)
Moving, Insightful, and Just Plain "Wow."
Note: *Spoilers Ahead* I watched this movie two nights ago, and I am still saying to myself "Carpe Diem" to keep me going. It was, to be quite honest, the best movie I ever saw in my life. The direction, acting, cinematography and everything else were exceptional. I completely lost it when Neil committed suicide. One particular thing I did after the movie was over, and I stopped bawling, was stand on my desk to look at my world in a different view. Robin Williams is my favorite actor and he very well should have won a Best Actor award. In the near future, I am buying this movie so I can indeed watch it over and over again. I recommend it to anyone who has a love for poetry, English, as well as watching an excellent film.
