The Rockford Files: Punishment and Crime (1996)
And the character of Megan continues and ends in her downturn
I"m sure the episode might have been fine if they didn't continue the blind girl's penchant for leading Rockford on.
I liked her in the two part episode that she debuted in. She wasn't irritating and I was glad of that because I've never been a fan of Beth Davenport.
In her second episode that she starred in, I really started to dislike her. She and Rockford kept their relationship open but she never tells him that she's going to get married to someone else until after she got engaged. Now there's just something that doesn't sit right with me.
And now here comes this movie. I'm guessing her fiancé or whoever she married realized what an emotionally manipulative cow she was before he finally divorced her. And so she screws Rockford in the cabin, knowing he had lingering feelings and then a few scenes later tells him that she's going to remarry the poor sap that she married in the first place.
Of all the characters I wanted to see an ending for, this brat wasn't it.
The Twilight Zone: The After Hours/Lost and Found/The World Next Door (1986)
Destroys the meaning of the original
The original (and if you don't know the twist by now, what kind of rock are you living under?) had a clear straightforward message; remember who you are, because if you forget and try to blend in with everyone around you then others will suffer as well as yourself. This episode takes away everything memorable about the first, discards it, and uses what's left. The mannequins weren't supposed to be evil or creepy by the end of the episode, they were supposed to be family or people she could identify with. She wasn't supposed to become a mannequin without her consent, she was supposed to embrace her identity willingly when she realized who and what she was. So, thank you VERY much TZ Remake for ruining one of the most memorable Twilight Zones of the original series.
Gargoyles: Deadly Force (1994)
The Best Gargoyle episode in the entire show.
Remember when cartoons actually had plot and the balls to pull of those plots? This episode is a good way to feel nostalgic about those times.
Deadly Force follows 2 plots that come together at the end. In the first plot, Broadway is playing with6 Elisa's gun accidentally shoots her, and has to deal with the guilt and consequences afterward. While Broadway is away dealing with the guilt, the blame and suspicion falls on a crime lord that's selling guns on the street.
I remember this episode creating a lot of controversy. It never claims that Guns are horribly evil and no one should touch them, the episode DOES claim that guns are dangerous and should be treated with respect. I remember this episode being censored during reruns. Which is a shame because due to the message, it should've always been shown.
After all these years, it's still a tearjerker to see Elisa laying in a pool of her own blood (Something else that was censored when the episode WAS shown). It'd be nice to know if this episode ended up saving lives.
