War of the Worlds (2005)
The whole Audience laughed at the end scene!!!
When I read in Roger Ebert's review that the audience he watched with burst into laughter at an early screening, I was going to skip catching this one. But then I thought "How bad could it be?"......well....it was that bad and more!!! The audience I was in last night burst into laughter! Not only at the comical end scene, but several laughs came from Tom Cruise's wooden acting and poor line delivery. I don't think any of the harsh reviews are tied to Cruise's off-screen antics or his attacks at other religions, ideals, and actors. I was happy to see that the alien craft were a little closer to the HG Wells novel than they were in the original film. But the special effects were liquid and unimpressive. Do yourself a favor, save your money and skip this piece of junk!!!
8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter (2002)
Typical "cookie-cutter" show
I sat through almost one episode of this series and just couldn't take anymore. It felt as though I'd watched dozens of episodes already, and then it hit me.....There's nothing new here! I've heard that joke on Seinfeld, I saw someone fall like that on friends, an episode of Happy Days had almost the same storyline, ect. None of the actors are interesting here either! Some were good on other shows (not here), and others are new to a profession they should have never entered. Avoid this stinker!
Andy Colby's Incredible Adventure (1989)
Is this a real movie?
Something bothered me about this film, it's all pieced together from other Corman movies. I guess you could call it a new movie... but I wouldn't. Using the "amazing" Blue Screen technology, Corman takes you through a pointless adventure with a Soap Opera budget. This IS the worst movie ever. I usually enjoy bad movies, but this goes far beyond that- NOT at all enjoyable. There's a villain that lives in a magic videotape that is trying to steal every shade of color. He has a castle that looks like spinning umbrella. This is so stupid... believe me. Even a 2 year old should not see this movie, it would be child abuse. I tried to burn the videotape after watching it, but it rejected fire. Save yourself the effort and just rent Battle Beyond the Stars. That way, you'll see all of the "good" footage that was used in this movie.
Daredevil (2003)
Very sad, very sad
I read Marvel comics Daredevil as a kid and was horrified by this film adaption. The acting is Terrible! Affleck and Garner are forced to spew out stale one-liners and comedic phrases straight out of sci-fi B movie. Neither of them is even remotely believable in their role. Affleck a superhero? He's far too nervous and "geeky" to be the man without fear. As for Garner, she wasn't able to cover her role acting wise. She was also not attractive enough for her role(readers of the comic know what I'm talking about). Overall I think most people unfamiliar with the comic will be lost, people who love the comic will be very unhappy.
