Bound Cargo (2003)
good but needed work
Good film for a borderline Adult film. The music was a little loud and not the right choice for the scenes. Storyline was acceptable and not overly contrived. It would be a good choice for a night watching films with the guys. The Actress who played the widow actually has talent and gives a good job as a dominant and manipulative person. The other actress were quiet and I got the idea that this maybe their first roles. What they saved on the costume budget they put into the scenery. They made the house look elegant but simple for a back country local. The film overall was more erotic than a drama. But still worth a cheap rental one night.
Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004)
my 2 cents (spoiler)
It had the potential if they just fired the writers and started over. I feel that they stopped after the first or second draft of the script and decided to go from there.
They had the potential, but they tried to carry too many plot lines.
a) Trapped behind enemy lines and Surrounded. b) The soldier left behind will he save them or kill them. c) The infected people.
Good actors but they can't carry a movie. There were 2 strong actors Richard Burgi and Ed Lauter, both well liked and talented.
What happened to the Rifle advancement shown at the end of the first movie? If they used those rifles then the Bugs would have been wiped out faster.
I did like the electric fence and the perimeter burner. But for an outpost they were underpowered.
If they do make a ST3? I hope they'll see the mistakes from this one and not repeat them. I wonder where's the armor units? If we're so advance why would we put all our hope into Infantry only.
Intergalactic Thanksgiving or Please Don't Eat the Planet (1979)
Good Fun Science Fiction Cartoon Possible Spoiler
This was a good Science Fiction Cartoon That I saw a long time ago. Possible Spoiler. The film has some funny moment with the space farmer landing on the planet and run into a culture that is devoted to leisure and fun but don't understand the consequences of their actions. There's another society in the planet that keeping it from collapsing on itself this society is comprised intelligent bugs that remind me of the village people. This was created by Nelvana. They also did the following movies about the same time: Cosmic Christmas, Take me Up To the Ball Game, Rome-O and Julie-8, Devil and Daniel Mouse, and Rock & Rule. There was another Cartoon about the Easter Bunny, but I can't remember the Title. The only disappointment is that you can't find a copy of any of the movies to either rent or buy.
Dinotopia (2002)
worried at first but enjoying it now
Dinotopia is a fun and new series. It is not another knock-off like so many of the other programs broadcasted today. Dinotopia's premise supports the idea that a multi-cultural society can live and thrive in harmony. The eclectic scenery and costumes really support the multi-cultural aspect of Dinotopia. I was originally worried about the change of the cast from a miniseries to a regular series but I feel the actors have secured their own places in their Dinotopia roles. I have not read the books yet but after seeing the series, I'm interested in reading them. I would like to address the other users comments about the possible doom of this series. Dinotopia's doom will not be from the shows lack of success. It will be because the local stations have pigeonholed the program. Dinotopia in our area was repeatedly exempted for sporting events and Christmas specials.
