Adam Williams (Carl) is a maniac who is driven to kill blonde women that remind him of a past relationship gone wrong. We follow the story as he carries out his urges to kill alongside the race to catch him led by detectives Edward Binn (Hamilton) and Harlan Warde (Warde). They need to act fast as Williams works to a monthly pattern.
This film keeps you gripped. We get location action as well as plenty of tension as Williams roams free to pick up his victims. Undercover blonde detective Marilee Phelps (Virginia) gets a memorable role which is quite funny when you realize that she is the real-life wife of Williams. I don't think she would have married him had she known!
The film also scores points for not showing anything gruesome. We know there are killings and that is good enough, thank you. If this film was made today, I suspect it would fall into the blood-fest horror genre. That is thankfully avoided as the film concentrates on story development and tension.

James Mason (Diello) plays the real-life spy who worked as a valet for the British Ambassador in Turkey during WW2 and sold secrets to the Nazis. This is the story of his plan to amass enough cash to retire to Rio de Janeiro.
It's an interesting story and pretty alarming considering that this actually happened. Mason plays the Albanian spy very well and is so good that you end up rooting for him as he confidently plays both the Germans and the British. You want him to get away with it! Ha ha.
Danielle Darrieux (Anna) has a good role as a Countess who despises poverty and enjoys partying and forging alliances that suit her. In fact, all the cast are good. We get several plot twists that you won't see coming and there is a suitable amount of tension as the story develops.
Time to do some spring cleaning - I think this place needs a hoover.

You used to have to study to be a model. At least the applicants actually looked like models in those days, ie, slim and attractive. These days, size does not seem to matter as we champion all shapes and varying degrees of fatness. We also don't have many wholly real female models these days as young women seem to pump their boobs and lips full of nonsense. It's become a fake horror show to see what passes for attractive these days. The media is to blame. Stop giving people like Katie Price air time.
This film starts off quite well but just doesn't follow up with anything interesting. There is a noticeable lack of tension with the story and we unfortunately have the Hollywood Film Code in place which determines a rather bland ending. Someone gets a gun so guess what? There's some shooting. Boring.
How's your posture? Stick some books on your head and walk around the room. Study hard at this and you, too, can be a model. Ha ha. I was asked to become a model in the mid-1980s by the trendy up-coming London fashion set (a few designers became famous names). Please note how I was asked as opposed to trying to become a model! You can't fake natural beauty.
