great movie
26 January 2004
I don't understand how this movie wasn't released until now. Incredible movie, great story, amazing cast. Possibly my favorite performance from Ethan Embry [and I've seen nearly everything he's done]. Peter Facinelli shows he has more talent then he showed on Fastlane.

And Jeff Anderson!! Heck yeah!! Randal pops up for a quick scene :D

I liked it...
7 July 2003
Not the best movie, obviously, but not nearly as bad as some people are saying! I'd heard this movie was horrible, so I went in with very low expectations, and came out quite pleasantly surprised. Eric Christian Olsen did spectacular, quite the change from his Not Another Teen Movie and The Hot Chick roles. The other guy did really well too.

No surprise was how Shia LaBeouf managed to pull off his role insanely well. I've been a fan of his since the beginning of Even Stevens, and I pretend great things for his future. He's got three movies in theaters right now, he's just finished a successful show, and the current Project Greenlight film has him starring. He's super talented.

Anyway. Dumb and Dumberer is obviously not as good as the original, but if you don't compare them it'll give you plenty of laughs and an enjoyable hour and a half.

Sol Goode (2003)

Awesome
15 March 2003
It's so amazing how many incredible movies get completely skipped over when it comes to theater releases. Considering the cast of this, its even more surprising. I'm glad Sol got a video release, cuz it's incredible.

Katharine Towne is one of my favorite actresses. This was the largest role I've seen her play, and I think she did incredible. Jamie Kennedy was, of course, Jamie Kennedy, and he did great. Cheri Oteri... love her, she's incredible. Balthazar Getty actually made a comedy, and a good one at that! Danny Comden's portrayal of Cooper had me rolling on the floor. And the cameos... Jared Leto, Christina Pickles, ROBERT WAGNER, Christina Applegate, Glenn Shadix... wow.

Anyway, I have to recommend you pick this one up if you need a good rent. You won't be disappointed.

The whole 'salad' thing cracked me up.

9.5/10

About a Boy (2002)
Good, yet Disappointing
13 February 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I had been looking forward to seeing this movie for a while, because I loved the book, yet I found the movie very disappointing. Good performances and all, I just thought they strayed from the original storyline of the book too much, as opposed to High Fidelity, which was almost done word for word.

*SEMI-SPOILERS*

I think they should have left the whole Kurt Cobain thing in. The whole KidzRock concert thing just didn't work as well. I suppose they changed it to fit the time period, but still. The original worked much better. Other things irked me too, just little details I won't go into.

However, the whole duck thing... priceless.

Good movie, just don't go in expecting it to be much like the book, or you'll be sorely disappointed.

Dragnet (2003–2004)
Good show
12 February 2003
Alright, alright, I'll admit that the only reason I originally began watching this show was because Ethan Embry is it, but it is actually a lot better than I expected it to be. Ethan and Ed have really good chemistry onscreen (reminiscent of their Dutch days?), and everything fits well. A lot of people have complained about Ethan's being 'too young' for the role of Frank Smith, but they made his character a good 5 years older than he actually is (think back to episode one, where he tells Joe Friday he was in kindergarten in 78, which in actuality is the year he was born).

Adorable movie
19 January 2003
I thought this movie was great. Certainly not my favorite movie of all time, but it's up there. Sure, the plot was fairly predictable, but still. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses. She's amazing. She definitely added a lot to the character of Melanie that another actress wouldn't have been able to pull off.

But the real talent lies in the supporting cast. Ethan Embry was amazing in this. I've been a fan of his for a long time, and it was nice to see him get out of the independent films(none of which I can ever FIND!). This movie was perfect for his return to mainstream, and his character, Bobby Ray, had me wishing I was a gay man *coughcough*.

Sure, some of this movie was predictable, and some wasn't very realistic, but all the acting pulls it off. Fred Ward did awesome too, as did everybody else.

A light-hearted romp
13 January 2003
Warning: Spoilers
*spoilers*

This was a very cheerful movie. All the deaths just brings a smile to your face. Christian Slater's character getting his head pounded in with a big... thing... just brings bunny rabbits to mind. I recommend it for all little childrens birthday parties.

Okay, seriously. This movie was very, VERY dark, sometimes getting a bit too dark. Christian Slater's character was like J.D. from Heathers reincarnated.

Cameron Diaz had an amazing performance. Not something she plays often, but she managed it well.

7/10 stars.

amazing.

God, this movie is brilliant. A lot of you are missing the point - it's not SUPPOSED to be one of those movies with a good plot that you have to follow, its just a great fun film to watch whenever. Great soundtrack, amazing performances by Ethan Embry(credited as Ethan Randall) and the rest of the cast as well.

500/10 stars. if you haven't seen it, you must. If nothing else, it'll make you want to work in a record store.

Adorable Christmas movie
13 January 2003
I think this is a great movie. Perfect for families to watch on christmas eve together. Ethan Embry(credited as Ethan Randall) gave a stunning performance for a 12-13 year old, in only his second starring role. Flawless New York accent. Thora Birch was of course perfect for the role of Hallie, and seeing Leslie Nielson as Santa was cool. Kevin Nealon deserves some credit for his role, that man always amuses me.

Although the movie is quite typical for a family christmas film, I like it better than most.

8.5/10 stars.

Great film.
13 January 2003
I seem to be in the minority here, but I enjoyed this movie. Some really good lines, the plot wasn't too bad, and of course, seeing people like Billy Zane in such roles is just brilliant.

The moment where Adam Sandler's character explains that it's a "no-budget film" is hilarious. People really need to lighten up on this movie, I can definitely think of others that deserve bottom 100 a lot more *coughPEARLHARBORcough*
