The Goldfinch (2019)
Not sure why I liked this film???
After 30 minutes .... 60 minutes and definitely 120 minuses .... WHY AM I STILL WATCHING THIS MOVIE. I really loved the way it was shot and edited and how it went through the time history and movement of the final resolve. For me it was what could have really been a GREAT movie but was somewhat boring as well. I guess it wil depend on your way of movie making.
Love on Iceland (2020)
Half way through ..... turned it off.
Story sucked the big one but scenery was amazing but not enough of it ...as much as I saw. Coming from the airport or moving anywhere through the country .... YES ...it does look like the landscape of Mars .... lava field and more lava fields. Depending on when it was filmed ... it is usually dark all day or light all day or between one and another. One thing I totally shuddered at was when the tire blew on the car and they pulled off the road and walked on the lava field. You do not ever NEVER pull off the road and walk on the lava field. There is hardly any traffic on the roads and if you have to stop due to an emergency ... traffic will go around you.
Cats (2019)
So I guess Ishtar is looking pretty good right now?? LOL
Just hoping all those that walked out asked for their money back. Most theatres have a policy about refunding your money if you walk out and ask for refund within a certain time frame as in 30 minutes.
Deadwood (2019)
The Finale
No need to repeat what others have said .....
THANK YOU DAVID MILCH AND ALL THE CAST AND CREW BEHIND OUR BELOVED DEADWOOD!!!! PERFECT.
Days of Our Lives (1965)
Congratulations on 55th Anniversay
Got to give you major kudos for the length of run. I was a Day Oner but I had to give up after the Marlena possessed story and I never came back. Glad to see still so many long timers in show still. Again Congrats.
If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)
Expected so much more !!
Acting was great but that was about it for me.
Main negative thing was audio .... missed so much as some was low mumbling or the Tish narration which wasn't very clear or loud enough. The others I was with also said they missed a lot as well. Slow moving and a tad boring. Also ... which I am confused about is if victim took off and wasnt at trial or no evidence was taken DNA or examination etc ... how was he sentenced. What was with Regina King's character wanting to wear a wig when in Puerto Rico ? Was this just to add another 5 minutes to movie?
Leap Year (2010)
Anyone Ireland bound should watch this movie!
The movie in itself is very predictable .... you know right from the get go what is going to happen as it has happened in so many other movies before.
I didn't watch it for that. It was suggested I view it as I was going to Ireland for the first time and it would give me some real visuals of what to expect and thus the reason for this post.
If you are Ireland bound for the first time, you really should watch this movie. It is the scenery and locations that will blow you away, knock your socks off and leave you wanting to get there sooner. It hit on so many places I will be travelling Dublin, Cliffs of Mohar, Dingle Peninsula among other places.
This is a wonderful travelogue to Ireland. Look behind the characters and enjoy.
Cocksucker Blues (1972)
Interesting documentary!
Saw this movie last night in Toronto at TIFF and can well see why this film had a court restriction attached to it back then. This film could have done serious damage to their tours.
From what I have read, cameras were left for anyone to pickup and film whenever and whatever which can explain how some of these scenes were taken.
Considering this film was made just a few years after Brian Jones's death due to drugs this fact obviously didn't make much of an impact on anyone.
Movie is shaky and loud at times and dialogue not clear but you take it for what it is ... a piece of music history.
