Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Don't waste two and a half hours of your life watching this!
I knew that I would have to park half of my brain to watch this. But that was fine for a festive chillout...But oh it is diabolical nonsense. Chris Pine, you must be regretting this!? I only gave it a "1" because that is the minimum possible to rate it. Truly awful, right from the start it wreaks of over exaggeration with non-non-science that would makes me start to believe unicorns might actually exist given the relativity of the facts. ooh I must stop here, my stomach is churning...
Person of Interest: If-Then-Else (2015)
Love the pseudo dialogue!
Wow! Each series gets better than the last. ...and then every now and then there's an episode that leaves me shaking my head in awe and amazement. For a series that needs one to turn off that thinking part of the brain that would otherwise ruin the pleasure of these types of shows, many of the episodes kick another thinking part of the brain into overdrive. ...This was one of them. So well written. The recently developed thread about "those two" is played so well in this episode. ...and the scenes with "her" running the sim with pseudo dialogue and emotion is amazing on so many levels. It also really gets you thinking about how the show would be "if..."
Off to watch it again!...
Californication (2007)
Season 6 - The best so far!
Wow! Season 6 is brilliant. Hilarious throughout, well written and for those such as myself with an eye for detail, brilliant continuity.
The writing and direction provide much more realism (than previously) to what seems like Hank's unrealistic lifestyle. Marcy to Stu as he starts to perform an "act" ..."take your glasses off" all the way through to when Hank blows a kiss at Atticus in the last episode. The attention to detail and the huge effort put into delivering great one liners at the right moment made this a joy to watch.
...and I am this far through my review without yet mentioning Maggie Grace! I could spout for ages about the "obvious" qualities of MG, however she played such a fantastic Faith that by the end of the series my jealousy of Hank was that he managed to have such a great relationship with her rather than just the inter-relations he had. The casting of Tim Minchin as Atticus was genius. Natasha, Madeleine, Evan and Pamela just get better as Karen, Becca, Jean-Luc and Marcy. David plays Hank so well that I often wonder as I am sure everybody does...is this just a parody of his own life?
Just one question though; did David forgo a personal trainer to make his character even more realistic ;)
I hope season 7 sees some cameos from season 6.
