The Beatles: Get Back (2021)
A Gift in a Time Capsule
10/10 What a gift.
A huge thank you to Peter Jackson for the patience to sit and watch all the material and produce this priceless time capsule.
I'm a fan of the Beatles having grown up after they split and learning of them through the years. I've had many of their songs become my favorites, at times having them as a playlist to my life.
I was never interested in the controversy of why they split up because I already had their music forever. They were/are human and would stop at some point anyway.
I started watching this without a thought of what it would be. And then magic happened. I was in a room with them almost intimately getting to know them, the way they spoke, drank, smoked, interacted. The banter, the crazy times, the dancing, the letting go of frustration. The exhaustion, the work. The love for each other.
I found myself constantly smiling through out. The realization of history being made when JoJo became JoJo,The Octopus's garden was just a few random tinkerings, The thought process behind the songs. Lyrics that were incomprehensible babble before they became the epic songs we now know. I found myself urging Paul (and George and Ringo) along to get to the correct verse to a song I now know so well, forgetting that He was the one who obviously arrived at what I now know so well. There was a time when these songs did not exist, and here we watch them become. I'm not gonna lie, the rooftop had me in tears. As I said, priceless.
I feel that their own evolution had them end The Beatles. It was time. And this documentary is the best testament to what true brilliant legends they were. Absolutely worth watching for anyone interested in music history , rock and roll and of course, the Beatles.

I'm really surprised at how much i like this series
This series is such a treat for me. A Greek series with fantastic actors and wonderful almost magical stories. They are beautifully written with a melancholy and nostalgic vibe. The fact that it is filmed in Crete makes it visual art. Knowing that each episode has its own little story is a plus, it makes it less a 'series' and more a surprise. This is unlike anything else on (Greek) T. V.
