Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959)
Most mature movie ever produced by India
Everyone especially my mummy used to tell me as how great is this picture but I realised it today after watching it that none of the adjectives used in the appreciation of this film is an exaggeration. It is a milestone movie as far as Indian Hindi Cinema is concerned.
Every aspect (acting, direction, music, cinematography, script ) of this movie is top notch. It's very few of those Indian pictures in which melodrama has no place.
Pyasaa, another master piece by Guru Dutt, was my all time favourite movie but after watching Kagaz Kee Phool, I have no option than to downgrade Pyasaa to number 2.
A must watch.........highly recommended...
Kaminey (2009)
Mind Blowing
This is the kind of movie which will be remembered as a path breaking movie in the history of Indian cinema. This is to Indian cinema what Pulp Fiction is to Hollywood.
Movie is superb in every aspect - story, music, acting, cinematography, screenplay but what comes out very distinctly is Vishal's amazing direction skills. Without any doubt, it's far better than Omakra and his other movies.
Having said that - story could have been better. There was absolutely no need to tell the childhood story of the twins. Also use of abusive language has been kept to the minimum which has not help build realistic characters. May be it was to avoid "A" certificate.
This movie will put Shahid in a different league now. They was he portrayed 2 just opposite shades as Charlie and Guddu is simply superb. Priyanka as usual is natural and has played her part with utmost sincerity. All supporting actors are first class. In nutshell - it's a MUST watch movie.
