Ngo wo geun see yau gor yue wui (1998)
It's all about love~ L-O-V-E-
Absolutely the best Chinese/HongKong/Taiwanese fantastic TV drama! The characters are so well developed. Everyone's performance was perfect, even for those who only appear in one or two episodes.
The story is fantastic and flying in the air but still deep in many ways. There's a lot of thinking about traditional Chinese philosophy, Buddism, etc. There's also moving scripts about courage, being yourself and facing the destiny.
Just as said in the story that "Love is the ultimate source of vampires' power", love is the central theme of the series. From every little piece throughout the whole series, you will see love between friends, family members, teachers and students, and of course couples. The emotion in these pieces is actually more believable and touching than a lot of movies/TV dramas with "realistic background stories".
Believe me, after watching this series, you'll feel very warm in heart and you'll have two more added to your favorite fictional characters list.
This Is It (2009)
Really nice with small disappointments, but this is MJ, what else do I ask for?
Came back from the official premiere in China. Thanks to the time difference, I was one of the earliest to see this on this planet. There isn't any real storyline in this film but I still put *spoiler* there just in case people want to discover the flow of the film themselves. The experience of the film was great in general. Time just flew during the 114 minutes, one song after another. There were really a lot of innovations there, so even most of the songs are heard hundred of times, I was still holding my breath during the film. Like the background screen film for The Way You Make Me Feel, The Way You Make Me Feel, and of course, Thriller 3D!! That is MJ! You couldn't believe he was already 50 when he was dancing on the floor!!
The small disappointments to me: 1. Because of the shooting equipments, video quality of some footage was a little bit low. 2. The crew didn't wear the final costumes. I just couldn't imagine how fantastic it would be if they do. 3. I was expecting more behind-the-scene stuff, like how the 3D film ideas was conceptualized and made into production, etc. But those parts weren't that long. It's like 3-5 minutes for each song.
What I'm going to do next is 1) to see this once more time in IMAX; 2) to buy the DVD when it comes out. Please include those 3D films completely!!
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
Obsolutely the best on out of the RE trilogy!
I was so disappointed by the first RE movie when it came out. The first RE movie was a good film, but as die-hard RE fan, it's just disappointing to see they dropped the feeling from the game series and made it to an average zombie film.
They definitely changed the attitude after hearing feedback from the first one and made a great integration of innovation and ideas from the game into RE:A.
And not only that, they've also found the trend of how RE story goes in the games (like the super-human power Wesker got in RE:codeX game) and made it part of the main storyline of the movie.
