Great Movie and Summary of Esports
19 March 2014
First, let me say that this is an excellent documentary as compiled by Valve. More specifically, this is not your typical documentary you might see about dolphins or fast food. However, FreeToPlay IS a documentary that opens up a new world to viewers who may or may not be familiar with the game of Dota2 and or Esports (Video Game) world.

The movie revolves around 3 professional Dota players - Dendi, Fear, and HYHY, all coming from different cultural backgrounds, albeit sharing the same passion and aspirations for the game. Each of their stories are distinct, yet share similar elements of struggle as each of them go through phases in life battling against the social conventions of having to go to school and the pressures of getting a real job.

FreeToPlay has successfully encapsulated the evolution of the gaming industry and its potential to grow in the years to come, paving the way for young aspiring gamers to consider Esports as a viable and legitimate option as a career. Nevertheless, the movie has also been spot on in sharing the real consequences of sacrifices one has to make to becoming the best, as illustrated by the story told by each individuals life.

All in all, FreeToPlay is an eye opener. An interesting and captivating story to show the world how gaming is not just about the 'fun'. It is more than that, it is, in short about life, competition, dedication, - ESPORTS.

Cast Away (2000)

Wonderful simply wonderful
27 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
after watching this movie once again after having watched this movie nearly a decade ago i was deeply moved by the whole plot and symbolism.

Few aspects that really caught my attention. Wilson. love. the package.

Wilson was one of the core aspects to this film. Spend enough time talking to a ball and eventually it becomes family. Though i personally feel that having Wilson in the picture really was one of the only ways for tom hanks to have a conversation in the movie. Nevertheless Wilson brought a whole new dynamic to the screen play. Nothing more to add but to say the scene where he lost Wilson in the sea was so amazing yet sad to the extent of losing someone close to you.

His love for her was obviously strong and touching. When reunited the two no longer had the space to be together anymore. The reality of the situation is yet again so sad. A woman who lost the love of her life has moved on, while the man had survived the almost impossible. Both are positive scenarios yet when the two unite again, you actually feel worse for the lady. i felt mixed emotions watching them two unite again.

As for the package that Tom did not open, to me that package represented hope. So long as the package is not opened there would still be hope, or at the very least purpose. the package symbolizes the unknown, we all know that the contents of that package may very well useful to someone surviving on an island. But to leave the package unopened means that there is at least a last resort. To open the package meant discarding hope to ever leave the island. In the end at the crossroads, the lady in the truck yet again represented hope, and whether or not Tom followed that lady, or took another road, that is up to interpretation. To me, he did not follow the lady, because the lady represented the package. Instead of opening the small package, i think he would rather embrace the bigger package which is life that is full of uncertainty, much like venturing into the sea when he was stuck on the island.

This movie is great seriously.

Good sequel
13 October 2010
At first glance having seen the first movie, it would look like any other crappy sequel. Nevertheless i had watched this particular movie. To my amazement, it was actually quite good to my surprise, not great but good.

The beginning of the movie shows the aftermath of what happened and (sarah)being partially rescued and questioned for what had happened. The scenes that followed really gave me (the audience) the space to foresee what would happen sooner or later. Sure enough the expected happened and all was kind of predictable.

Having said that, the character development was quite impressive given the short amount of time that the characters played and a few minor twists here and there. i daresay i felt some strong emotions watching this movie seeing how the characters had connected. What i got from this movie is really the suspense of having to do what is needed to do when its a matter of life and death, and how one would grow from these experiences.

The horror aspect of this movie was not so great though but still good, the originality is no longer there and the whole movie was really about being a sequel and nothing much more. Overall this movie was OK and some may like it and some may not. If u really liked the first then i would recommend u watching this. i enjoyed the movie and gave it a 7/10.
