To mikro psari (2014)
Just ok,maybe a little bit lower than good.
This movie is notbad, but certainly not a great either.
Although the story shows potential, teh delivery and teh script doesn't help the end result.
The dialogues are naive and simple, with too much profanity and repeated lines, wasting time and in the end they don't provide any further details to the story.
The actors are doing a good job with a weak script on their hands, but at times they seem to be fighting a losing battle.
The direction is ok, at times it becomes too slow.
The violence scenes however are pretty realistic.
Generally a decent movie that could be a lot better...but it isn't.
Falling Down (1993)
Master piece of a generation
I saw this movie when it came out being a teenager.
One of the best films of our generation, I still remember getting together with my friends every now and then and watching time after time.
The character of William is played exceptionally by Michael Douglas, maybe his best perfomance in his long acting career.
Watching him getting provoked and attacked and steadily getting pushed to the limits, you don't know if you should feel sorry, side with him or just stand against him, in a rollercoaster of increasing violence.
Robert Duvall on the other hand playing Sgt. Prendergast, a "seemingly" low self esteem pusharound by his colleagues, his wife and basically everyone, following William's trail of violence while fighting on his last day of work before retirement to fix all things wrong with his life.
And then we have the several villains, increasing in severity and weaponry, from bat yielding store owners to gun holding gang members, then to the nazi and racist Nick, they are all adding to the script.
We still say to this day say with my friends "Give us the briefcase man" :-)
The end is a bitter one, having William and Prendergast on a collison course, each one with his one purpose in mind, one wanting to end everything and the other avoiding it.
The music is great (Check the LA West song)
Overall a film of a generation.
Roda tsanta kai kopana (2011)
An artistic holocaust
This is the last and hopefully final movie of the franchise.
Most people regard the old movies as culture classics but in all honesty after the first one the rest are pretty weak and careless.
AND EVEN THESE DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO THIS ATROCITY!!
First of all the story is terrible. No concept at all.
The acting is beyond horrific. Most of these guys are not legit actors anyway (Douzos and Matoula for example) and the real actors are just roaming around mumbling the script.
Anyway it takes a lot of courage to start this and a lot more to get through the middle. If you finish it you are a hero.
The Heat (2013)
One of the worst movies EVER !!
If you watched this atrocity in its entity you are my hero.
Seriously I think I managed to get into the first 15 or 20 minutes before i closed down the dvd and burned it down.
