Green Zone (2010)
Well Made and Action Packed
Numerous plot twists and action sequences are going to unfold in front of Greengrass' camera not necessarily with new ideas but still awesome, making verbs just as deadly as a weapon.
The directing is consistent: the legendary style of the director doesn't change whether he's filming the chase of a key character or just... a simple verbal confrontation.
But if the solo walk of Jason Bourne or the confined spaces of United 93 forced him to film in a chaotic way with extreme close ups, Greengrass managed to take a step back regarding his mise-en-scene. The shots end up being larger, almost as if to say that these characters have a future.
It's also the occasion to film, without insistence, a demolished Iraq because of attacks not always justifiable, the director of photography(Barry Ackroyd) manages to capture pain and suffering with the talent of a war photographer. That image also fuels the anger of a country turned toward civil war because of this need to judge somebody on mere intent.
So does that make Green Zone an anti-American film? Of course not. There is, through the hero played by Damon or the female journalist played by Amy Adams, the idea that a decent moral world is possible if it's durability is assured by people not corrupted by the system. Overall, an EXCELLENT FILM IN ALL RESPECTS, though it could have had less plot twists.
District 9 (2009)
I love this film.
Seriously. I love this film. Last year, two movies made me crazy, which were Iron Man and Dark Knight. This year, it's Harry Potter 6. Hangover, and this. Amazing action, great story, and touching. This will show Transformers and Terminator with GI Joe that a Sci Fi movie can have a story with amazing effects, that too with only a 30 million dollar budget. The background score is electrifying. The performances aren't the best, but they are believable. Which brings me to this: this movie is too believable, too realistic. You might feel a bit uneasy, but if you're emotionally strong, you can take it. Hats off to Peter Jackson to slapping the Sci Fi film genre back to it's senses.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)
Wow. Horrible film.
Not the worst of the year, that award goes to Wolverine. Wait, no, this is worse. I felt offended, as it is the dumbest film of the decade. Dora is smarter. Transformers at least was average. Same with Terminator. But this is something else. The acting is poor, the visuals inconsistent, the script/screenplay atrocious... and I think the only good thing about this film is Snake Eyes. At least HE didn't have to say anything besides jump around and hack and slash. Parents, do yourself a favor, and take your kids to G-Force instead. Also, I didn't mention the overall direction. It's bad too. I will repeat, Transformers 2 and Terminator S. is WAY better than this piece of trash. The score, effects, acting, bad direction, and whatnot makes this movie the worst Sci-Fi film of the year.
Kaminey (2009)
Amazing film. One of the best films of Indian cinema.
You can't believe how much anticipation I had for this movie(I loved Awarapan, also a gangster movie). This movie passed each expectation. Amazing songs(especially the title track and Dhan Te Nan), enthralling action, mind-blowing story, shocking performances(in a good way), and an ecstatic execution through and through. Shahid's performance along with Priyanka's, Amole Gupte's and everyone's performance make me speechless. They all fit in their roles. Shahid as Charlie steals the show. Priyanka looked her best in Dostana, but she looks angelic with no makeup(and still hot).
What I liked about the movie: Shahid, Priyanka, Amole, action, run-out of the mill songs(especially the ones mentioned above), photography.
BEST FILM OF THE YEAR. MY FAVORITE BOLLYWOOD MOVIE EVER.
What I didn't like about the movie: Too short, like Awarapan. Come on, 135 minutes? What about 150, at least?!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Why do some people hate this?
This is the best movie ever!!! It had a lot of action, was approx 2 hr 30 minutes long (with no credits),and the acting was superb. Sure it could've been at least 3 hours, and Dumbledore could've been nicer, but nothing else is bad! Did you ever read reviews? If a movie's even over 130 minutes, they say it's too long! And this is (the whole thing) is approx 2 hr 40 minutes! You know what some critics called this? "Overlong", they called it.
The special effects were awesome!!! Some parts were funny, and Voldemort was creepy! The violence was cool and the third task, Death Eater Attack, and the finale was pretty intense and long (there is half an hour worth of action in this whole movie ). Oh yeah, and someone better change the parental advisory for violence and gore for this film. (I can't, I'm new here).
