Rock On!! (2008)
Music lovers, this one for you....
This story is different and shows us the most common problems in a rock band, and above them the friendship. it sports four cool guys in a rock band, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, a husky voice, friendship, love, fight of egos, corrupted music leaders, breakup, reunion, and the end of it, a loss and a gain. Abhishek Kapoor hasn't moved a little from his main track, thats music. and side by side, he has shown the life's ups and downs, what happens when u choose a path different from normal. And the music, which reunites those friends who broke up many years before to lead a normal life.. It may look boring to some, who don't understand the language of music but those who do, this movie is for them. The music, the integral part of this movie is awesome. May be not like the English Rock-bands. But as for Indian part, its first, its fresh and its fun. Shankar Ehsaan Loy were perfect to do this job. Also, they got the husky voice of Farhan Akhtar, who has sung many songs of this movie, and has done a great job. So, all music lovers who dream of forming a band, this movie is for you and remember, the sound of music is too powerful.
My rating: 10/10
The Dark Knight (2008)
The new era Batman
Batman has got a new life. It has got a new identity. With Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan, its a beginning of a masterpiece series. The first movie of Batman, Batman Begins already proved the caliber of the two. But when you see this movie, there is one actor who takes the aura of Batman away. Its the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, who expired after giving such a huge performance. When you see him with his scars, and the unusual makeup on his face, u may get scared. And not only the make-up, but the acting of the Joker, with such brilliance, and the dialog, "why so serious???" will make a mark in your mind. Other than the Joker, of course the Batman, and the Two faced man, played by Christian Bale, and Andrew Eckhart, out stand their performances. No doubt, the director, Christopher Nolan got the perfect combination and was able to make every actor outperform his capabilities. And the film got what it deserves, a huge opening in the box office and the highest rating. And this movie asks to be watched twice and thrice, and i am sure, every time you watch it, it will show something new.
WALL·E (2008)
Yet another beauty from the pixar studio...
Hollywood is full of imaginations. It has shown us the romance of Human, Horses, Dogs and many other. And now, it has now taken the case of Robots and the love in them. Yet another hit by Pixar Studios.. This story is about a robot named Wall-E, the last robot left on the earth as the whole human race is shifted in space. The time is 2812 AD, hence it is clear that Human has developed a lot and devastated the earth completely. Wall-E remains in the earth and cleans up all the junk, feeling lonely in the whole planet. Comes Eve with a mission and they fall in love. And hence starts the journey of Wall-E to attract Eve towards itself. Pixar has proved that animation is as real as the actual world, and film after film, it is narrowing the gap between the two. The emotions of the robot, their voice and the perfect picturisation of the future human race are the main look outs of the movie. Not only that, it has again kept the point correct that even if machines are powerful, they don't have their own mind, and hence loose out to us.
Ugly Aur Pagli (2008)
Crap Comedy
Cant understand what to say about this movie. Surely, watching this movie will make you think that this movie is a crap, but the acting of Ranvir Shorey will surely make you laugh. Not only the acting, but the situations are also funny and fresh. But what i think was missing was the right direction, or the inability of Mallika Sherawat to act. Ranvir Shorey has certainly come a long distance and as it seems, he has become capable of being a solo hero, but there is something wrong in this movie, which takes away the charm. Added to that, we have dance numbers, which are forcefully inserted without any reason, Ranvir's funny dancing although he was trying to dance seriously, and the glycerine scenes of Mallika hard to believe. All this have been the offset of the movie. So, even if the situations make you laugh, in the end, you will find that there was nothing new and this was all a bloody crap.
