Men (2022)
Repulsive is an understatement
I have seen many movies in my life. I have no words to describe the futility of this thing. It has a chance to be the only thing I will regret doing at the end of my life. I hope that my vomit sensation will pass in time and that I will not need therapy. It reminds me of that banana taped to the wall and presented as art. No! Just no!
Blackhat (2015)
Right movie wrong actor
No offense intended, yet I have to say that it was painful for me to watch this movie!
Try to imagine watching Arnold Schwarzenegger doing ballet!
Chris Hemsworth is ruining this movie, and I say that though I like the guy. He can be a great Thor but not impersonate a hacker. We all "know" that hackers do pushups all day, walk around semi-naked, and as soon as they meet a woman, she becomes dumb and entirely hypnotized by the seductive power that all hackers have.
From a technical perspective, this movie belongs to the science fiction for kids genre, and I say that being an IT guy.
I believe that choosing a different lead, a less muscular guy with an intelligent face, and removing just some of the clichés would've allowed this movie to have a chance.
Kyô Samurai Musashi (2020)
91 minutes of action
Would you like to see a movie with non-stop fighting and no gore? No buckets of blood?
Well, this would be that movie.
Each movie creates a convention - when we see a character dying in the film, we know that the actor is not dead. It is just a convention.
In Crazy Samurai Musashi, instead of pretending to die, the protagonists are just removing themselves.
There is no fancy choreography either; it is just an efficient (if we can use this word) slaughter that is minimized by the fact that most of the defeated samurai just walk out of the scene instead of faking death.
If you can suspend your internal judgment, you may find this movie an interesting experiment.
One more thing, I sometimes watch movies using double speed, so for me, the film took just 46 minutes.
Kingdom: Wolf Tickets (2017)
What about continuity?
I am watching Kingdom on Netflix.
That means that between a season and another there is virtually no pause.
Yet between the season 2 and season 3 some things change significantly like for example Jay's life.
I would've loved a smooth transition but now, the first episode just makes me feel like I have missed a season or at least a few episodes.
Paco (2009)
Finding your place in life is not at all easy
This is a movie about life, about human nature, about drugs, love, poverty, temptation. Though Paco (a young man) is the central character of the movie, the other characters complete the picture - rehabilitating from drugs but more important rehabilitating as persons.
I got several ideas from this movie: in the end you have to accept things as they are, you have to accept responsibility for your life if you want to go forward, we are not perfect - we are just humans, you can't escape from addictions but rather you can replace them with something good, the line between good and bad is not always so clear.
The movie it's a drama, there are lots of sad scenes but what was important for me is that the end lives you with hope. There are some sex scenes in the movie and they fit perfectly in the story.
Why should you see this movie? You don't have to. But if you encounter problems in your daily life (as we usually all do) it may help to see that you are not alone and also that you may reach a "floating" level.
