Road trip!
4 January 2024
Cosmic. Intelligent. Thoughtful. Heartbreaking. Funny. Beautiful... The Allnighter is a strong independent film directed by Aimee Graham, who is the real driver on the quirky road trip to self discovery. There are moments that make you laugh as well as cry, and the best part is, it's never about the destination. It's about the journey, characters, and drive to tell a compelling story about two unlikely people who find one another (in the worst way possible).

If you enjoy lighthearted, smart filmmaking, The Allnighter is definitely worth checking out. I enjoyed every second of it and recommend it highly.

Russ Meyer eat your heart out!
18 April 2022
If you know who Russ Meyer is, then you know how he single handedly created a genre of filmmaking that transcended the B movie skin flick and crossed over into the mainstream with a cult following that is still going strong today. 8 Days to Hell is a throwback to Russ in a homage that definitely hits with all the right gore, sexuality and innuendo. If you're a fan of Russ, then definitely check this out. I promise you will not be disappointed.

No reservations!
19 February 2021
With an interesting cast, dark sci-fi moments and body parts gore, The Crumbs is a homespun Horror that works its way into a morality play. I'm not usually a fan of this genre, but I do appreciate the deeper meaning and it's reminiscence to Peter Jackson's style (in his early years asa blossoming filmmaker).

Russ Meyers eat your heart out!
17 February 2021
Raunchy sex comedies are few and far between, especially when they allude to sex and comedy, but The Midas Touch touches all points (pun intended). Reminiscent of the old Russ Meyers sex farces of the 1970s, there are some truly steamy scenes with some fun moments throughout. Take a trip with a loser when he goes from the driest sexual existence to wanton to overstimulation and desensitization, a theme very prominent in our society today.

Rappers Delight
29 January 2021
Writer-Director-Producer Jake Fay spins a tale of hope versus reality when a talented Central Massachusetts rapper struggles with high ambition, lack of money and moderate support. Relying on others to get to where he's going his arrogance gets the better of him, grounding him in the process of reality rather than the dreams of success. Some well produced music is a bonus.

That voodoo that you do!
30 November 2020
What can I say... Voodoo is a fun and untapped theme. Key Lime Voodooo is a well thought out tale with elements of The Serpent and the Rainbow's investigation and a splash of creepy realism!

Good Fun
23 June 2020
Once again Sergio and his team bring you into the entertaining world of the paranormal seeking out spirits who haunt a local home in the suburbs of New Jersey. More science based than you might think and the new technology allows for an even more immersive investigation. Good fun.

Delightful
24 April 2020
Craig McMahon's Sweet Sunshine is a delightful and heartwarming story filled with fun songs and lots of faith! A love letter to modern country music, the age old story of true love conquers all and self fulfilling prophecy. Super positive and fun for the family (not for young kids).

David Lynch eat your heart out
16 April 2020
What can be said about a film that takes all the elements of a fever dream, visually pokes your eyes out and then leaves you with a sense of unease wondering if it was a dream or reality? A little of both? "The dream dreaming the dreamer?" Anyway you slice it, Call For Dreams is a visual masterpiece. Color palates, editing choices, sound design, cityscapes, camera angles... This indie films ambition is overgrown - and damn proud of it! With tones of Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, Enter the Void and other cinematic nightmares, Ran Slavin's sophomore contribution to the world of heightened stimulated filmmaking is an insane look into the mind of a man who understand poetic cinema! If you LOVE David Lynch, Gasper Noe, and truly dizzying storytelling, then I highly recommend this film!

Redemptive love in the zombie apocalypse!
15 April 2020
Jordan Cantello takes us on a visually beautiful journey through a pandemic that creates a sense of incurable dread in this apocalyptic survival/love story. If you love the drama of the Walking Dead and the unrelenting horror of G.A. Romero, you will definitely enjoy this little horror indie!

A Story of discipline vs. Passion!
30 March 2020
Parallel Chords is a gripping tale of a prodigy who comes to terms with her father's over disciplined rehearsals that eventually gets the best of both of them. Told through a broken narrative traveling from the past to the present and back again, we get a glimpse into the life of a musician who only want's his child to become what he wants her to be, not what she aspires to be. Gorgeous cinematography, beautiful music, a solid script and decent acting add to this well done coming of age drama.

Fascinating.
5 March 2020
What's very interesting to me is, I find myself thinking about the technology used to find energy and how it's used to communicate with entities. I don't know much about the paranormal world and how it operates, but I will say it is a very interesting business. Paraseekers lends itself to the world of Ghost Hunters and Long Island medium, except I do feel this focusses a little more on the emotional aspect of the genre, attempting to help a spirit cross over, but the journey to find out who the actual spirit is, is a good part of the ride! If you're into paranormal investigations this is definitely for you!

Deep and compassionate.
4 March 2020
A personal look into the horrors of a civil war aftermath where a mountain playground has become a forgotten mine field. "Yesterday went with Yesterday" is a warning that things remembered aren't always what they appear to be. Issam B. Makdissy sends a clear message about the fear of falling in love, forgiveness & the light of actual love in a world we may never know. Heartfelt and compassionate! Not to missed.

Star-Crossed!
3 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well acted and directed, BEFORE THE DAWN deals with forbidden love under illegal circumstances coupled with the the risk of killing your career and potential incarceration. We have seen this in the headlines, but never see the circumstances that provoke it. A theme that touches on the needs of people who fall heart first (even though their head says otherwise). I don't think this film condones underage relationships but rather a star-crossed / soul-mate impression that is difficult to navigate even in the real world, especially with an age gap of more than 10 years. Overall it's a fascinating look at the problems people face falling in love against all odds. Look deeper!

Worth the watch!
26 February 2020
Derrick Fury's Lion Killer is a strong story about a martial artist with inner demons who meets his match, Noel, a woman struggling with her own inner demons. Usually stories of this kind can become convoluted and preachy, but Lion Killer goes a step beyond, bringing the pain to the surface and exercising those demons through connectedness and acceptance. An absolute delight. Highly recommended.

Creep!
18 February 2020
Poltergeist, The Exorcist, The Conjuring, all inspirational films from major studios that creeped the pants off of us. What better inspiration to draw from and put to use than in The Evil Down the Street. Inspired by true events, this film delves into the stigma that lurks around a house plagued by an entity that only wants to torment the family that occupies it. Is it playing with them or does it really want to kill them? No spoilers! Sit down with some popcorn, curl up on the couch and let the hair stand up on the back of your neck with this neat indie horror.

Compelling inner city drama
4 February 2020
Unlawful Justice isn't just a warning to Los Angeles' inner city youth, it's a warning to the law enforcement as well. The film digs deeply into the underpaid law enforcement risking their lives to protect and serve, while dealing with the politics of high profile arrests and those citizens who have either a stigma about them or an honest to god issue. Unlawful Justice is a compelling drama and deserves our attention!

Happy Feet!
2 February 2020
Who knew a documentary about feet could move you to tears as well as give you belly laughs, but that is exactly what Calvin Dwight Harris's film does. On a journey from Denver to Haiti to help an organization who shoes the impoverished, to the left coast of America, to his hometown in the Caribbean, Calvin dives into the questions we should be asking ourselves, not only about our feet, but what we should be doing for others. Kudos to this fun, simple/complex look at feet! What else can I say about this film except if I could give it more than 10 stars I absolutely would.

Good fun at the Grindhouse!
2 February 2020
Robert Kirkpatrick's Shady White is a hip, cool, bad to the bone Robert Rodriguez Grindhouse flick, staring Clayton Miller as the title character channeling Bruce Campbell at his smarmiest! Great fun!

Weirdly Entertaining!
31 January 2020
If you like 80s B comedy horror in the company of Dan o'Bannon's Return of the living Dead, The Stuff and Peter Jackson's Dead Alive (with waaaay less gore), tongue and cheek sexual innuendos, 2 minute holds for 911 emergencies, and reality shows titled "Suicide Island", then I think you might find Office Outbreak right up your alley! I actually laughed out loud and found the homage profoundly fun.

Set against the backdrop of the Mojave desert, Hespiria brings isolation and hell to anyone who can't find their way out of this God forsaken town!

Fun Twisted psycho thriller!
30 January 2020
I would first like to say... "CHUBBY BUNNY!" Second... For anyone who thought this movie was bad, I'd LOVE to see YOUR movie look, feel and laugh like this one does. This is an INDIE THRILLER in the tone of THE GAME and APRIL FOOLS DAY leading you down the rabbit hole, planting clues and paying off in the twist and Erik Bloomquist's film does it with an air of sexy style and intensity. Adam Weppler, Carson Bloomquist, and especially Nicholas Tucci bring the goods. A first rate indie thriller.

Culture shock club!
30 January 2020
Guyana, a country on South America's North Atlantic coast, culturally connected to the Caribbean region and has one of the largest unspoiled rainforests in South America, some parts of which are almost inaccessible by humans. Simple and intriguing, "Into The Bush" illustrates how third world Guyana bush people survive in piranha infested waters and how first world people learn about culture shock! "Into The Bush" is a very interesting first person journey from first world luxury to third world survival.
