Dune: Part Two (2024)
Really good movie!! But...
This movie is a visually stunning movie. The directing of this movie is phenomenal. Timothee Chalamet was so good in this movie. Austin Butler was really cool. There were a lot of great actors. Lots of cool scenes. I may be in the minority here but I liked the first one better. This one was really good but there was something about it that I didn't like and I figured it out. It was Zendaya. I'm sorry but she is not a good actress. There was too much riding on her acting skills and she just couldn't do it. They could have gone with so many other actresses but they didn't. Whenever she was on the screen, I just wanted her to go away. She isn't likable. She only has one tone to her acting. She just seems annoyed. I think that's why I liked the first one more. She wasn't in it as much. That is just me and my opinion.
A Little Princess (1995)
Listen I'm a dude and this movie was fantastic!
This movie has always stuck with me. I watched it when I was 15. It had the perfect blend of imagination and the horror of reality. I really think that every actor/actress acted their butts off. The kids were phenomenal. Miss Minchin was so good and so was Sara's dad. But Liesel as Sara was a stand out. She should have won an award for this movie. The sadness of this movie mixed with all of the uplifting tones made this movie wonderful. I seriously would rewatch the end of this movie where Sara finds her father and is trying to make him remember. It is one of the best scenes in cinema. It's so good. I would highly suggest that everyone watch this movie!
Black Mirror: Loch Henry (2023)
Great episode!
Ok so this was actually really freaking creepy. I really enjoyed it. I was half expecting what happened to happen but then again, I was really surprised. The woman who played the mom was fantastic. She did such a good job. I honestly liked everyone in it except for one character. Pia. That was the weirdest casting choice. She had no eyebrows and she was kind of a B. Not really likable at all. I felt more for the victims of the serial killer than I did her. They could have chosen anyone else and it would have been excellent. That was the only thing that threw off the episode. I haven't been that creeped out in a while.
Leave the World Behind (2023)
It had so much potential
This movie started off really good and then just fizzled out. This could have been a miniseries. Then they could have fleshed out the characters a bit more. Especially Ruth's character. As she is in the movie, she is terribly unlikeable. I don't know if the actress just couldn't figure it out or if the character was written that way. Every time that she was on screen, I wanted to turn the movie off. That would work if she was a villain but I don't think that is what they were going for. I don't know why they put so much racism in the movie. It wasn't needed. They did a good job with tension but then when Ruth got racist while in bed with her dad, it just cancelled out the tension. There was so much to unpack here and they tried but it got very sloppy.
The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
Geeze, So much potential
This movie had good actors doing some good acting but the script was just terrible. There is no world where I would actively walk into my sister being stabbed by a masked person and not shoot them in the head. They have the peace of mind to tell each other stories while there are at least two people actively trying to kill you but not be able to use a gun to stop them. It's just stupid. Splitting up when you should stick together. Not keeping your phone with you when you are looking for your kids after some weird chick knocks on your door multiple times. Just everything. A cop arrives and doesn't pull his gun seeing a woman bleeding and crying. Then the little girl has the peace of mind to go all Sara Conner on the bad girl?? Then the bad guy hits a vehicle in the rear and stops the vehicle while still driving away in his truck?? So stupid.
Jared from Subway: Catching a Monster (2023)
Poorly made
I appreciate what Rochelle did and I think what she went through is bad but they focused for almost the whole story on her. This story is about the victims. This story is about the cops. As much as I hate it, it's about Jared. They should have had her in it for a quarter of the time. They should have focused about Jared's past and the cops. They could have done more on the court case and the results. They just focused on her. The bad part is, she was really annoying. She attempted to cry multiple times with no tears. They talked about so much of her stuff that they said stuff twice. It was just a really bad documentary. Could have trimmed it up into two episodes.
A Classic Horror Story (2021)
This is really good!
I didn't know what to expect watching this movie. I thought that it would suck judging the other reviews but this was really good. This just goes to show you that you cannot believe others reviews. I liked the characters. They were all likable and they were all real. The violence and gore is disturbing but not so bad. But the ending... that is where it's at. It is what I want to see in a horror movie. I think everyone always wants a terrible ending. I don't! I want a good ending. I actually got it in this one. Not a perfect ending but in real life, this is about all that you could want. Definitely worth a watch!
Scream VI (2023)
It was the worst one in years!
Last years was not the best but at least it was entertaining. The acting was actually really good. This one was choppy and just not entertaining. The best part was the laws final girls. They both did good. I liked how Billy showed up to help his crazy daughter. I really liked the first few minutes but then it just didn't explain any of that. How did they figure out that they were trying to be ghost face killers?? They didn't even acknowledge that. It was just ok. I will give them credit because they got Dylan McDermott to be in this movie but that's it. They just wasted Hayden on this movie. She was literally a warm body. Try harder next time!
Soft & Quiet (2022)
I was about to get mad but...
So this movie is not a feel good movie for sure. I didn't know what to expect going in but I will have to say, it was good. The acting was done well and I like how it was all one continuous shot. You have to be a good actor in order to act that well in one shot. I kept hoping that one of the victims were going to get the gun and kill these evil hags but that never happened. But I love the ending. It is a play on the title. The main victim had to be soft and quiet in order to survive. Now the world will be a better place knowing that she will tell the cops and all of them will go to prison. At least that's how I see it.
The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Good episode but not great.
This is the worst of the first three episodes. It's not bad, but there are some inconsistencies. The time jump doesn't explain their aging and neither does the illness. They show zero connection between Joel and Bill. I know that they built the connection over the years but they should've shown it. There is no reason for this to be a catalyst for Joel. I think they should've stretched out these characters for at least two episodes. The parts they showed with the relationship weren't that touching for me because Frank is not that likable to me. Again, if they would've shown more through two episodes, then we might've enjoyed the relationship. I did like the doomsday prep, and the stuff that happened between Joel and Ellie. By no means is this a bad episode. I just think it could've been done better.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
It's just not that great
Listen, this isn't a bad movie. But it's not something I will ever want to watch again. There are so many plot holes in this movie but the biggest one is when he kidnaps all of the cops. They are all carrying guns literally in their hands and he just overtakes them every single time. But my biggest issue is Chris Rock. I love Chris Rock but he is just not a good actor. He just doesn't know what to do with his face. He doesn't convey any emotion except for maybe irritability. I just couldn't root for his character. The last sequence was decent but not enough to save the movie. I wanted this to be good but it was just ok.
Christmas in Connecticut (1945)
The more you think about it
This movie is crazy. The more you think about it, the worse the characters get. Almost everyone in this movie are bad people. The soldier gets engaged to a nurse to get good food. The writer fakes being a special person to get a mink coat. She fakes having a child and a husband so she won't get caught in a lie. She makes the soldier believe that she is married and that he should cheat with her. Her best guy friend wants to marry her so bad that he fakes everything and lies to everyone just to make her happy. The newspaper owner leaves his family on Christmas to be gluttonous. He also wants to make the writer have another baby to make more money with his newspaper. The actual cook of the movie is the funniest part but he is constantly sabotaging all of the characters to fit what he believes should happen. The nurse that is supposed to be engaged to the main character marries his best friend behind her back. A kidnapping supposedly happens and we all have a good chuckle over that. The ending happens. Sure I'll be happy for all of the terrible people. Old movies were something else.
He's Watching (2022)
Better than a 3 star review
The acting was mostly good. Some freaky parts. Kind of like a weird nightmare that you would have after being sick. Good attempt but never gave us anything worth holding onto. Didn't understood the ending. They could have done so much more to make a cool ending to at least let us have a resolution that everyone could understand. That would have made the wait worth it but unfortunately they didn't do that. I think both of the young actors can definitely be in more movies. They are really good. After all they carried an hour and a half movie. Overall I would say to skip this. Not really worth the time.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Ok it has gotten worse
I made a review already and I was a bit harsh. It has actually gotten worse. I would be embarrassed if I put she-hulk on film...twerking. Are we serious? It's not funny, it's not goofy, it's not ridiculous. It's embarrassing. They have to edit these shows and choose what to keep and what to throw away. This actually made the cut. They should just cut she-hulk out of the rest of the Marvel universe and pretend like it didn't happen. They did it to Iron Fist. That show was leaps and bounds better than this garbage. I think they will find out after all of the hate is added together after all of this is done. It's so bad! I find it hard to believe that Marvel was a part of this.
The Sandman (2022)
So much potential
This show could have been great. They had such a cool premise but they were only inclusive to the gay Audience. In a world where everyone is gay! Look up the statistics, there are only a very small percentage of the world that is gay but they made it seem like every other person is. It was just way too much. Just like I wouldn't want to see straight couples making out every other scene or a bunch of boobs on the screen. You shouldn't make it to where we have to see all gay, all of the time. It's just nonsense. You guys could have made one of the best shows ever if you would have just focused on the script and not the audience. Make season 2 and just be honest to the world.
The Sandman: Lost Hearts (2022)
Really?!
They made desire the bad guy/girl??!! What a joke. That was the worst way to end this season. Desire is the worst character in the entire show. The Despair character was far more interesting. First of all, this depiction of desire would only be desirable for maybe 1% of the entire population on earth. To make us believe that he/she was able to convince Unity to bang him/her is a 1,000% unbelievable. So dumb. You should have made desire a beautiful woman so that at least we could believe this nonsense. I likes the show all the way until the ending.
Candyman (2021)
What a disappointment.
I had such high hopes for this movie but it let me down. They took a bad guy and tried to make you feel bad for him. All of the characters were just unbelievable in their roles. They tried to turn a horror movie into a drama. There were hardly any scares and the finale was so bad. That's the bad news. The good news is that the acting by the two main characters was good. There were some bloody kills. That is about it. Watch if you dare.
Dead Silent: The Stranger on the Hill (2016)
Wow
Good job, you let a murderer go free and kill 2 more women. All you had to do was testify. But I am sure glad that you lived so that you could go on to be a teacher. They should have at least talked about that point.
The King's Man (2021)
There were things that I liked
There were things that I liked about this movie. Mainly the love that a father has for his son and his late wife. The action was decent but a little goofy. The feminist narrative was annoying. They barely built the tension between Ralph and the female lead. The ending was funny and deserved but just not what I wanted. Opinion based but I think I'm right. And what the heck with the leg licking thing?? Haha. Just saying. It is worth the watch but they better have another.
The Walking Dead: Rogue Element (2022)
Eugene is the best!
Listen, this is the best acting that we have seen in a while on the walking dead since Rick left. Eugene did so good! He was really hoping for a happy ending. This hooker did him wrong. He will fight back and become the leader we always knew he could be!
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
Great episode!
Full of action and some good surprises. I don't know why it was so low rated. It wrapped everything up very nicely. Some of the episodes didn't make a lot of sense but it made sense in the end. Loved it!
Aterrados (2017)
Almost great!
This was a scary movie. It had some good jump scares and really likeable characters. The atmosphere was like a bad nightmare. The ghosts were really creepy looking and the make up was so well done. I just wished that it would have stayed that way. The last part with the CGI lost it a little with me. Still creepy but they just made it look weird. They had some never before done ideas which I liked. Overall a good movie.
The Green Knight (2021)
So close to being great!
This movie is dark, mysterious, very interesting and very beautifully filmed. The acting is great and the characters are likable and very complex. The problem with this movie is that it tries to complicate everything. They could have made it much more simple and the movie would have been much more powerful and enjoyable. They also added the weird gay theme in there which just threw me off. It was not needed. The ending was very interesting but still not what I wanted.
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (2020)
This was a good documentary
I liked that it didn't hold back on him because he was a celebrity, race or any anything else. They explained it plain and simple and it was fascinating. I especially liked the last 10 seconds of the documentary. It was sad and then it made me laugh. I don't know if they intended that.
The Walking Dead: Last Day on Earth (2016)
Great Episode! I can't understand the hate.
I don't't get where all of the hate is coming from. This episode had a ton of tension and anticipation. The acting was great and the story was so well played out. The introduction of Negan was great! I love how they never cut away or went to commercial break throughout the entire scene. The acting and interaction between the actors during this scene was fantastic. I loved how Andrew Lincoln was so confident and almost cocky at the beginning of the episode. When you get to the end of the episode, his face tells you how wrong he was about everything. Everyone is hating how this episode ended but I think it was genius! Negan standing above someone with Lucille and giving demands to pluck out Karl's eye and feed it to his father if anyone acts out. You can breath, you can blink, you can cry. Hell, you're all about to be doing that. One of the most brutal final lines that I have ever heard but is was so well done! You don't get to see who dies but I bet they will explain it marvelously next season! I can't wait!
